Will I Get My Package In Mail Or Doorstep

For USPS, if the package doesn't fit in the mailbox, will they leave it at the doorstep or..?

Package doesn't require signature, but I'm not quite sure how big it might be it's just a set of small paintbrushes, and my mail box is pretty big. If it doesn't fit in the mail box, will they tell me to pick it up at the post office or just leave on doorstep?

Will my package go to my doorstep or mailbox?

I'm trying to order a vaporizer off the internet, its a hand vape so it should be able to fit in the mailbox. It will ship via USPS, will it go to the doorstep or the mailbox. I'm 15 so I live with my parents. I get the mail after school each day so if it goes to the mailbox it shouldn't be a problem. But if it goes ti the front door and they ring the doorbell my mom will get the package and might open it. It will be addressed to me so she may nit but then she'll ask what it was. Another option is having it sent to a friend's house, he says he could get it without his parents knowing. I'd rather have it sent to my house though. Anyone with experience of ordering something sketchy off the internet would be great, but any help you can give thanks.

Will USPS leave the package at the doorstep?

I will most likely be at my office when they deliver and the package doesn't require a signature. If it doesn't fit in my mail box, will they just leave it at the door step or will they knock on the door to notify you?

What should I do if Amazon delivers a package to my door and then the package disappears (presumably because a passer-by might have taken it)? Is Amazon willing to deliver packages again?

Technically, like others have mentioned, they are not required to reship the package or give you a refund, but they most often do!I go into full details on what you can do in my article:What should you do if your Amazon package shows up as delivered by USPS, but you never got it? | FEENTABut basically, after you have not received the item, you have several options:Contact Amazon. (Best option). They will guide you what you can do next.If you don’t work it out with Amazon (which is unlikely), then find out which carrier they used and contact them. Also contact your local post office. There may have been an error in the tracking info saying it’s delivered to your door, when it’s actually not.Look around your house. I have a friend that has found a package left for him under the porch (I guess it was raining that day and the delivery guy just put it there so it doesn’t get wet). My friend had no idea, the package didn’t require a signature, and weeks passed by until he finally checked under the porch. Found the package. :) An alternative is to get a better mail box (properly secured) so nobody can steal your items.I’ve had 2 instances where I didn’t receive my package (or maybe I did but someone stole it) and Amazon’s Customer Service helped me a ton! They are fast, friendly, and polite. I would have guessed that such a big company would outsource their customer service to a 3rd world country with low quality CS reps (which is what some other companies do), but to my surprise, they have a great CS team!

If my mail is held, will USPS/Fedex/UPS packages be held as well?

Hi all, I'm currently on vacation, but I've had several packages from UPS and USPS being delivered to my apartment.

I went to the post office to hold my mail until I get back, but I was wondering if the post office will recieve the packages on my behalf, or if the post office companies would still deliver, and leave the packages outside my doorstep (or in my mailbox)?

Thanks!

A packaged delivered by USPS was stolen from my doorstep, what can I do?

This happened four days ago. I was at work when a package I ordered a week ago was delivered to my house about 3PM. I don't get off till 11PM. The package had tracking confirmation so I know it got there. I get home and there is no package in my mailbox or the lockbox or the doorstep or anything. I figure I'll wait a day until I talk with the postal employee who delivered it and see if it was in the office (of my apartment complex). Nothing in the office, employee said she remembers setting it on the doorstep and my neighbors say they didn't see anything. I have a good friend who works for the post office who can't really help me out. He says, "Since it wasn't insured there isn't anything they can do about it". Isn't that kind of messed up how the USPS, a part of the government can get away with losing things or having things stolen on a daily basis? This never happened to me with FedEx or UPS. The postal woman who delivered the package said they just implimented new laws stating they aren't to leave packages at doorsteps anymore. I've been trying to find these laws and the post office website is a jumble of confusion, like it doesn't want me to find these specific rules...if they even exist. Can anyone find out anything about these supposed laws? I'm thinking about putting a sign on my door that says "Absolutely do NOT leave any packages at doorstep". If that was in place and they did it again and something else was stolen would I be able to use that against them somehow?

Is there anything I can do to get the $60 bucks worth I spent on the items back or am I SOL? This was an eBay thing and they will cover the seller in this situation since he did everything right and I don't blame him for it at all.

Also I know I just asked a bunch of questions in a row but any help would be appreciated.

Will the USPS deliver a package to my door if, in the address line 2, I say "deliver to front door"? The USPS sometimes delivers to my door if the package is large.

Carriers have to be quick and efficient. If you want it at your door but it fits in your box the carrier will be the deciding factor. If they strive more for efficiency they will bring it to your door. If they strive more for speed, they will put it in your box. Leaning one way or the other will make one of these qualities suffer. That is why most people get the wrong mail in their box because speed is the most prized quality in an employee.

What if I'm not home when a package is sent through Priority Mail to the post office? Will they leave my small package in my mailbox if it fits, or will they take it to the post office and I will have to pick it up?

The carrier will leave it in your mailbox if it fits and appears to be safe there. If it’s too large, the carrier will leave it at your door, if the location has no direct view to others from the street, or he can find a place there to conceal it out of view. That’s as long as there are not restrictions prohibiting it from being left at the door. Some types of mail just cannot be left at the door or in the mailbox - items that must be signed for (Registered Mail, for example). If it cannot be left in either the mailbox or at the door (or manager’s office for apartment dwellers), the carrier will leave a notice in the mailbox stating when and where it can be picked up, which Post Office.
