Will My Computer Run Skyrim

Will This computer run skyrim?

Im looking into buying a new laptop, and i think it would be nice if i could put a game or two on it! The one im looking at now is the "Asus x401a" its a little on the cheap side...but it's within my budget. one of the games that i would really like to put on there is skyrim. but, im not too sure if this computer will be able to run it! so if you could help me that would be great :) it dosent have to have the best graphics, and it dosent have to run silky smooth the whole time...that being said, i dont want it to start to lag every 20 seconds.

Will my computer run Skyrim?

Video Card = Intel(R) Q45/Q43 Express Chipset

CPU = Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU E8400 @ 3.00GHz

It says on Can You Run It? that I can not since my Dedicated Video is only 64 MB, but it says that for Neverwinter Nights 2 as well and it runs just fine.

Will My Computer Run Skyrim?

Well the minimum requirements for processor speed is at least a 2.0 GHz, but you have a 1.50 GHz. Your video card won't be able to handle it either. You definitely need to upgrade your RAM, but I have no idea how you do that since I've never had to upgrade a computer. Plus, a PC game sucks when you have lag, it can ruin the whole game for you. But honestly, I've seen videos of people on Youtube running Skyrim on computers worse than yours. They had to change the settings and stuff, but they were still able to run it.

Btw, I wouldn't necessarily trust System Requirements Lab. Their results aren't always accurate.

edit: I also agree with what RJ said, it's also has to do with what settings you plan on playing on. You might possibly be able to play it on Medium.

another edit, lol: I also have it on the PS3, but the PC version is a lot better imo. The medium is not that bad at all, hell, I think Skyrim looks pretty nice on all settings. But either way, there are mods out there that can make the graphics look amazing even if you can't play it on Medium.

edit again: FPS depends on your graphics card, CPU, and RAM. Since your RAM is a bit low, and video card is okay (not the best) you might have to find a way to increase it. The FPS is what causes the game to lag, so if your FPS is low, the game could possibly be unplayable. I think the best thing for you to do is buy the game from Walmart (since they take everything back), and if it doesn't run correctly, you can always just take it back and get your money back.

Can my computer run Skyrim...?

Your graphics card is an integrated one so i'm positively sure that it wouldn't be good for gaming. if you want to definitely play skyrim well, your best move here is to upgrade your video card to at least a mid range card like the gtx 550ti or a high end one like the gtx 560 and above. you should also take into consideration your PSU, the more powerful the graphics card, the more wattage your PSU must have.

Will my computer run. Skyrim on medium?

Can my computer run Skyrim?

No way in hell you are going to be able to run Skyrim at all on a laptop with a low end single core CPU and (assumably) very basic integrated graphics. just not gonna happen, mate! Here are the system requirements for Skyrim-

Processor: Dual Core 2.0GHz or equivalent processor

Can my old computer run Skyrim?

Since it came out I have considered getting Skyrim for my PC, but I wanted to know if my computer would run it properly without any problems. It can easily run Oblivion smoothly on average settings, and one website said that "You may be surprised to learn that the fifth Elder Scrolls installment does not really push graphics much further than Oblivion, despite the fact that it centers on a new engine." (www.tomshardware.com/reviews/skyrim-per... It may sound like a stupid question considering my computer is at least 4 years old, and System Requirements Lab said it wouldn't, but it has been wrong for me in the past. In short, based on the following information, do you think my computer could run Skyrim, if not, will I need to simply buy a new computer, or replace basic pieces of hardware, which I am able to do.

CPU Speed
Minimum: Dual Core 2.0 GHz or equivalent processor
You Have: 1.8 GHz
RAM
Minimum: 2 GB
You Have: 1.0 GB

Video Card
Minimum: DirectX 9.0c compliant video card with 512 MB of RAM (NOTE: This requirement is NOT yet confirmed by Bethesda - NVIDIA GeForce 7600 GT & ATI Radeon X1800. Please be advised this may change soon).
You Have: ATI RADEON XPRESS 200 Series (0x5954)
Features: Minimum attributes of your Video Card
Required You Have
Pixel Shader version 3.0 2.0
Vertex Shader version 3.0 2.0

Will my computer run Skyrim if these games run okay?

I've recently played a lot of WoW and Minecraft, and they've run pretty well. I run WoW on pretty low settings, with about 20 fps. As for Minecraft, I just booted it up to check and I was able to run it with render distance on far, and it was only a little jittery. Anyone have any idea how this compares to Skyrim? I plan on purchasing a new video card soon, since I'm guessing that's why those two games have the jitters sometimes, but I was wondering if I would be able to run Skyrim based off that. And on what setting do you think I would find myself on? Thank you in advance!
