Will My Job At Panera Become Easier

Is being a cashier at panera bread hard?

I never used a food cash register before so I'm kinda nervous I'll mess up. Panera is usually crowded with people. Is it easy to use it? Well there be basic reading and pictures in the screen? How is it like?

Panera Bread? I hate my job!?

I just recently started working at my local Panera Bread. My first job ever! I'm 16 and don't get me wrong, i'm SO grateful i got hired. In my state, it's SO hard to get a job. No one ever wants to hired anyone still in High School. But, i've been working at Panera for about a week now. I've already got 15 hours in. (3 days) and i'm just SO done with the job. My co workers BUT 3 are assholes, they all are so rude and have little "Smerk" attitudes like they are better than the world. I'm still training at work, so i'm not used to all the things we have to do. I know most Panera's do things the same, but my Panera EVERYONE starts in Dining Room, and my Panera is Dining/Dishes. So i have to Run food, clean bathrooms, tables, restock condiments, make coffee and tea, check on customers, clean windows, WASH DISHES. All at once, in one shift. 4-5 hours. AND, i have to do all of that in a certain amount of time, like... with cleaning the bathrooms, i have to check them and clean them every 15 minutes. I have to check the trash every 15 minutes, i have to run food. It's HARD when we're super busy, and not to mention.. i have to work with the TERRIBLE dishwasher, so when i struggle to get the dishes clean, i have to re wash 3 times before they are clean. I'm stressed and i wanna quit, my boss even said i'm doing a "So So" job. He pretty much hinted to me, if i don't get "Faster" or "Better" i'm fired. He said.. "You're not scheduled for today, it's just not working for me... I'm going to schedule you next week, and put you with a different trainer. You have 2 days to learn this, if not... then... i don't know what we'll do." WTF? I'M SO done. Most other Panera's LET you chose what you wanna do in the store, mine doesn't. I GOT stuck with this terrible job. What should i do? What are some of your experiences in Panera or any other job? Please no rude answers, i'm already having a terrible week.

Is working at Panera a good first job?

I have said both of these statements before, and I will stand by them for your answer. “There’s no such thing as a bad job, only a better job.” … “Working anywhere, is better than not working at all.” … If Panera is the only place you can see yourself working, with your current skills and knowledge - there is absolutely nothing wrong with working there. If you have skills, or knowledge and an interest in other things, pursue that. You don’t have to work at Panera, because you’re only interested in food service/hospitality as a career, and you don’t have to pick Panera if there’s no other opportunities … and there’s also nothing wrong with taking any opportunity as any first job. Learn what you can from each job. Strive always to work longer and harder than your peers, and see ways to grow either in that job, or to get skills and knowledge you can take forward to the next job you want. Go for it all —- and good luck to you.

What kind of GPA do I need to get a job at Panera Bread / Chipotle?

They don't really care.
They will judge you and make sure you are not someone that gets druk every night.
Computer Engineers do not tend to do this.
One trick - memorize the menu if you ever get an interview.

Is it hard to work at Panera Bread?

I am 20 and I start working at Panera tomorrow. My shift is 5am-1pm and I got hired for cashier/bakery.
This is my first job in food/restaurant I am use to office work so I was just wondering What I can expect for training and if it's easy to catch onto. I am nervous for lunch when it really gets busy. I know it will probably be a lot of work and running around but If anyone can give me some tips that would be great! :)

Is it hard working at Panera Bread?

I just got hired recently, my first day was yesterday, it was busy in the afternoon, but my trainer helped me alot, she would ring people up and let me watch, then she would let me do it while she's watching me, so when i'm putting in orders and make mistakes, she was there to correct me. I thought it was very hard at first, but the last 2 hours i got used to it. Its ok if you are nervous, i was very too, i was scared that i would make mistakes or when customers ask me questions i wouldn't know what to say. Another hard thing was when customers order, sometimes they don't speak clearly enough or speak too fast, and i'm still looking for the item on the computer, but trust me, you will get used to it, and alot of customers don't know what they want, so they take about 5 minutes to take a look at the menu. When someone asks about the sandwiches i just asked my trainer to come over and help them. Its your first time. Its ok to ask them to repeat their order and stuff, you'd rather ask again to get the order right here than punching in the wrong order and they coming back later to complain. My second day is next week, still very nervous, and my trainer is not going to be there, so even more nervous, lol... but good luck to you, some customers are very nice and will smile and laugh with you, don't worry too much or you will make mistakes. A customer ordered a soda but i forgot to give them a cup and just walked away, oops...Hope you do good

Do you get tips working at panera bread?

You will be taking peoples orders (obviously) and getting them things they want from the bakery, like bagels/muffins/etc and slicing/toasting bagels if necessary.
As a barista you just make the coffee drinks or hot water for tea.
And no, I would not expect tips for any of these jobs.

What's it like working a panera bread cafe?

I start a job there soon and I wanted to see was it easy making the sandwiches and salads. Is everything labeled for a certain sandwich or salad. Or do you have to remember everything single item that goes on a sandwich or salad

What do you think of Panera's policy of asking for a tip when signing the credit receipt and making you expressly choose a "No Tip" option?

As an employee who has been working at Panera for about three years now, I can assure any and all the naysayers here that, regardless their feelings on tipping at the register, my fellow employees and I are still, in fact, paid decently above the minimum wage (at least here in Texas). Panera (or, at least the franchise company I work for) has not used the addition of optional tips as an excuse to lower my pay. Thanks, Panera. Now, I’m not living in luxury and I wouldn’t expect to working in a fast-paced food service restaurant. The tips I make, though, do help a bit in making my paycheck stretch a bit more. I’m very thankful for the tips I receive; I do not, however, expect them from each and every customer. At my Panera, we bring out your food if you are dining in. We bus our tables. We will help you with any of your needs or desires, so long as it is within our capability to do so. But we don’t expect tips, and the tips we’re given are split between all the hourly associates depending on the hours they worked that week. The tipping function was added because a number of our regular guests repeatedly requested the option to be able to tip us, the associates. Panera, as a company, does genuinely seem to have its workers’ best interest at heart. If you don’t wish to tip, then don’t; the option to do so wasn’t implemented for you.
