There are 2 possibilities: Ajinkya Rahane or Steve Smith.I think they should persist with Rahane. There are few reasons for this:Steve Smith will be making a comeback to the international cricket as well as IPL. He might be undergoing a lot of emotions at that time. It won’t be good enough to put the pressure of captaincy on him. So, he should be made to play as a player only, for the next season.Cricket Australia has made it clear that Australian players featuring in the ODI WC 2019 won’t be available for the whole season of IPL 2019. Seeing the current form of Australia’s ODI Squad, its clear that they are missing the services of Steve Smith badly. So, there are great chances that he will have to leave IPL in the mid of the season.

They have decent squad which makes them to retain majority of the squad . Teams can't announce replacements too as that'd send their player in auction next season, I guess. So RR might make it to playoffs but would suffer due to absence of players after that , like last season

Not just a power hitter, he can bowl too in the middle overs. If RR's team management give him chance in all 14 league stage matches, he might be one of the most dangerous players.
