How many Dragon Ball series are there?
Hi guys, I was wondering because I heard from my girlfriend that she saw the "real" end for the Dragon Ball sagas. She said that it ended with goku waking up at a hospital and the episode shows that all happened in DB, DBZ, DBGT is no more than a dream of Goku after he got unconcious in an accident, she said she doesnt remember the name of that particular DB saga, but that she actually saw it years ago from a friend (she already lost contact with him) who lended her the series burned on dvd's. So I was wondering if anyone knows that saga... what's its name and if it is Official because all internet only talks about the usual 3 series having DBGT the official ending. and plus of that please tell me how many officials DB's there are thank u all!
Which Dragon Ball series is the best?
First of all get GT and Kai out of the equation. Dragon Ball was really good. Original, enjoyable, fun with somewhat crass humour for a kids show. I simply LOVE it as we get to more character development and interaction. The saiyans are not stronger than all the others back then so the playfield is kinda evened out. Many of the characters get their moment to shine, while they were more of a sidekicks in DBZ. An amazing series. DBZ gets a lot of criticism on the other hand - you'll hear things like "limbless characters floating in the air for hours", "it's all screaming and filler, waay overrated anime" and that the plot was stale and repetitive. What can I say? Different strokes for different folk :P If you're more into comedy and relaxing, enjoyable action anime, Dragon Ball it is. So it's purely subjective you decide which is the best. My favourite? Hands down DBZ by a mile. Why? Because no anime has moved me more and those who say it's for kids/ bad plot simply don't understand the anime. Vegeta, Picollo, Frieza, Gohan and many other epic characters are introduced. Veggie, the saiyans all the concepts that MAKE Dragon Ball what it is are introduced in DBZ. That's what it all about. Saiyans, Namek, Frieza is the core of the series IMO and not the tenkaichi tournament. If you go according to critics and all the plot analyses and those who think they know everything about Martial Arts, Psychology, Animation and what not - they'll say DB is the better series (in their opinion only - I never say which of them is better cuz I love both to death) but if you look at fan mangas, fanfiction, youtube clips, forums - all the fanbase activity you'll see they all revolve around DBZ which is to me the most reliable indicator and not stuck up expert wannabes. Love both, but DBZ gets the edge. DB is still simply beyond perfect tho!! * no comment on GT and Kai cuz they weren't very... you get the drift.
