Will They Make You Take Your Piercings Out During Labor

Tongue Ring During Labor?

I wouldn't worry about it. Do you have a barbell? Just make sure it's screwed on VERY tightly.

If you have an x-ray or a test like that, I think you have to remove body jewelry, but x-rays aren't common during labor. If you're truly concerned, ask the nurse or your ob/gyn when you go to the hospital to deliver your baby.

Why do you have to take out piercings during a c-section?

Usually you have to take out all piercings before any surgery, including a c-section. Belly ring has to be taken out because, well, they're cutting in the area and want it as clean and sterile as possible. Tongue rings needs to be taken out because, if they need to intubate, the tube can get in the way. They generally want earrings out because if they ahve to monitor PsO2 (amount of oxygen in your blood) they can attach the probe to your ear lobe.

Having said that, when I had my c-section it was an emergency c-section and there was no tiem for even thinking about jewlery. I had general anesthesia and they managed to intubate me with my bar still in my tongue. I'm sure the anesthesiologist was cussing while he was putting the tube in, but he did manage.

Earrings during delivery??

they couldnt pay me enought to NOT wear makeup lol.....i wanna look just as beautiful as my new baby when picture time rolls around lol.....i know jewelry is not an option if u have a c section but do things the way you want.....your body, your choice =]

How long after giving birth can you get a piercing?

Ok well I know that you can't really get a piercing while you are pregnant, but how long after birth is it before you can get one?

I don't want any body piercings just another ear piercing.

Or who knows, maybe I CAN get an ear piercing now? (porbably not)

Does a navel piercing hurt?

Pain is relative, as it originates in the brain, and all brains are different.  The short answer is yes, but 10 different people will claim 10 different levels of pain.  Comparatively speaking, it's one of the less painful piercings.  Most people find it not only tolerable, but also not hugely painful.  I'd compare it to the earlobe piercing.  Navel skin is thicker than the lobe, but the needle is less painful than the gun, always.  For me, who got my navel done at 14, the clamp used to hold the skin in place hurt worse than the piercing. The piercing is a quick sharp pinch, then a few moments of fiddling the clamp off and jewellery on which can cause slight tugging.  It was very tolerable for me, even at 14.  In short, a quick 2-4 on the pain scale, then tolerable soreness. If you're not good with pain, bring a plushie to hug or friend's hand to hold.  Drink juice or something sugary before and during your visit to the parlour.  It's very unlikely, but people have passed out once they stood up after being pierced.  Juice helps prevent this.  I've personally never seen anyone faint.  Take anti-inflammatories like ibuprofen at home to help with swelling and soreness. Do not take aspirin before the piercing; it is a blood thinner. Follow the piercer's directions to the letter. So, to summarize:  One of the less painful piercings.  Compare it to earlobe piercing.  Perhaps a 2-4 out of 10 pain-wise, then mild soreness.  If you think you'll have trouble with pain, come prepared.Good luck, future belly button blingers!

When giving birth do I hav to take my piercing out?

okay So I got my Clit n Nipples done about 6 months ago, (give or take), is it to soon to take em out w/out having to have them re-done? Also, I've been told by my friends that I might hav to take my vag ring out b4 a go into labor. Is there a way around that, or can I keep it in w/out causing harm to myself down there? If I breast feed is there a special type of nipple ring i can use, or do I remove em every time i feed? Will the milk I'll be producing cause problems for my piercing?

Can I take my lip piercing out for work every day and put it back in after? Will it close and what would you suggest?

First. I appreciate the other two answers but I disagree.I have snakebites, two lip rings. So I’ll pretend I’m an authority on it. Haha. I work in a job field in which I COULD wear them but it allows people to shove their opinion about them down my throat, and while I don’t care what they have to say in the least bit, it’s gotten really old over the years and I’m not allowed to tell them that I don’t give a rats ass so they’re wasting what little time they have left telling me.So I regularly do not wear my jewelry for weeks. And then I just pop em back in and go on with my day. I’ve had these piercings for at least four years though. If you’ve had your piercing for at least a year I’d say you could be fine doing this. But way to find out is to start taking them out at home for increasing periods of time and then put them back in. Please don’t store your jewelry in any solution. All you need to do for your piercings once they’re well healed is wash your hands and jewelry with antibacterial soap and keep your face clean. So it boils down to how long have you had the piercing? The tunnel that your jewelry goes through is scar tissue. Or it will be after long enough. Once that scar tissue is built up and set you can go longer and longer without jewelry and still be able to insert it. And you can always bring jewelry with you and pop it back through for a bit if you feel unsure. It takes years but it’s possible

Belly Button Piercing while pregnant?

Your tummy grows, you feel the new life grow inside you… Must be wonderful, isn’t it?

But if you have a belly piercing, you may be thinking - ‘…is it going to hurt my baby if I leave the belly ring while being pregnant?’

And maybe your GP has told you better take out that belly ring while you’re being pregnant.

Well… It’s not actually the case! First of all these days you can get a special pregnancy belly ring - it’s made from plastic, no metals involved, and it won’t hurt your baby! Secondly, no-one has observed any bad influence of those pregnancy belly rings to the unborn babies.

Do you have to take out nipple piercings if your pregnant?

Breastfeeding seems weird but poking holes through your nipples and sticking pieces of metal in them doesn't?!?

Nipple peircings are disgusting. You should take them out pregnant or not!

In today's day, you see lots of tattoos and piercings. Would this make you consider NOT hiring them?

Tattoos would never deter me from hiring, also, I dont own the company, so my boss’ opinion matters. There was one temporary associate in my department who was BUSTING HIS ASS, out shining all of the company employees in labor, and brains. I was doing a walk through with my managers, and one spotted a rose tattoo on his neck, and said get rid of him. I stated my case for why not, and they said, that’s not the kind of look we want. He scares the female employees with his tattoos everywhere. So I had to end his assignment for a punk reason, and I told my boss I didn’t agree with it, but it was his decision. All of my tattoos are not visible unless im wearing no shirt or shorts. I’m in logistics, aka a warehouse. It is sadly frowned upon to have tattoos all over your body showing, so mine are hidden in the mean time till im solidified where I want to be.It would NOT deter me, but I know many others whom it would deter.
