Will This Engine Fit Into My 97 Accord With The Same Engine Mounts As A Stock One

Can i use the motor from a 90-93 Honda Accord LX in a 94-97 Accord LX?

in order to run this motor in your car, you are going to need to swap the a6 and a11 pins at the ecu (if you use the f22a1 ecu). you may also need to modify your wiring harness so that the plugs reach all the sensors. also, use the fuel rail off of your 95 and you may have to use the injectors. the front and rear mounts will bolt up, but you will need to buy the hasport accord swap drivers side mount ($160) or use ALOT of presuasion on the stock mount. you might be able to get exaust manifold to bolt up since both motors come with the 4-1 manifolds, or you may have to get your car to an exaust shop to get it finished. unless the motor you got from the junkyard has low miledge, or you just cant return it, Id stick to the stock motor or upgrade to a f22b/h23 or h22, because the f22a1 swap is just about as much work but has less power than the other options. you can get the f22b for around $400 without many miles if you do some loking around on the internet, the motor has 160hp and 148 tourqe, and is much more fun to drive than with the stock motor.

How much would it cost to replace the engine in a 1996 Honda Civic DX?

you can get honda engines from a lot of places, i dont know where you live so i could give you a couple of sites online to look at. if you get the same engine a 1.6 liter inline 4, its gonna be around 700 dollars. you can yes install other engines i would suggest a, b18c you can get for around 2000- 4000 . usually used engines have around 30,000 miles or more on them.

1985 accord 2dr - engine swap?

i would like to know what engine would fit the car, replacing a 1.8L I4 carb, A/T. an engine that would have a bhp of 110hp or more or close to it. frends told me b16's but i think they are for manual trannys. because wouldn't converting A/T to a M/T take a long time and a lot of money. i want it to go faster without any NOS or turbo (if they're even good).

thanks.

What is the difference between a long block and a short block engine?

1. Long Block EngineThis engine is complete in itself. You can also say that this engine is as close to full assembly engine and ready to run quickly. All the essential components that an ideal engine must have are intact with it and require less time for installation. The long block is more powerful than the short block and negative efforts are required to putting things together. This engine has the parts- assembled block, crankshaft, camshaft, valve train, and a cylinder head as well.Basic Difference between long block vs. short blockHowever, it doesn’t include fuel system, intake, electrical, and exhaust components too. Also, a need of replacing the long block indicates that the short block and the head have been damaged so badly that it can’t be repaired anymore. Generally, the manufacturer offers a complete repair kit in which reconditioning repairs. Moreover, this engine is costlier than the short. In addition, the parts of the engine may contrast from trader to trader. So, if the cost is not an issue for you and the best performance is what you want, going for the long block will definitely be the best option.SEE MORE:How much time can a battery take to get charged?Types of car engine2. Short Block EngineYou can find short block below cylinder head and above crankcase. This engine is not complete and comes with a piston, a crank, and connecting rods. An installation is required in order to assemble all the parts. The external parts required to attach externally may include cylinder heads, oil pump, and gaskets. In addition, you can find some engines with the timing parts as well.Your maintenance tips provider might have told you that the installation of short block engine takes more time than the long block. Well, it’s true! Every part must hold at the specific position and the process of binding the parts together might be time-consuming. This engine is affordable as purchasing only necessary parts lessen the cost. Can a modern car engine fit inside an old car? If it does, can it work?

Fitting the engine in won’t be a problem. As you noted, older cars are larger with plenty of space in the engine bay. The problem you’ll have is making the newer engine work in the older car. Newer cars have multiple sensors, computers, and subsystems for traction and stability controls, transmission controls, anti-lock braking, and in some Cadillacs, even electronic controls for the shock absorbers. The bummer part is that if you remove some or all of these subsystems, the engine management system may not function properly to run the engine normally.A better option for your purpose would be to buy what is called a “crate motor”, which is a motor specifically designed to be used in multiple types of vehicles. GM makes crate motors, and sells them through Chevrolet dealerships. Here’s one that might interest you:LSA Crate Engine - Race EngineThe LSA V8 is the same motor used in the Cadillac CTS-V, and if you add the “connect and cruise” option, it would be relatively easy to drop this motor into an older car.

1998 Honda Civic EX Engine Swap...?

I am going to guess that you have the 1.6 L D16Y8 if you are talking about doing a swap.

I would go for the Si engine for that year which is the B16A2 which should drop right in. And since the D16Y8 is VTEC, the wiring should not be too much trouble.

A H series, or K series may put out more power/torque, but the amount of time for the swap and money involved is going to be a lot more than if you go the route of the B series, not to mention the B series is highly modifiable. Just depends on how much coin you are willing to drop above and beyond the initial install

CAN I SWAP AN h22a4 OR AND H23 ENGINE OF A HONDA PRELUDE INTO MY 1993 CIVIC?

Trans: All 92- up Prelude 5 speed trans and 92-up Accord trans. Trans with ATTS will require major wiring mods.

Mounts: Hasport mount kit M92- H22-10

ECU: Use ECI that came with the engine with proper mods to wiring. For 96-up engines either back date eletronics and use appropriate OBD1 ECU or use adapter harness and make proper wiring mods.

Electrical Differences: CX and VX need to convert to a 4 wire O2. Non-VTEC models need VTEC solenoid and VTEC pressure. Add EGR solenoid and EGR valve except for VX. All models modify stock harness to fit, add air intake by pass wiring, and add knock sensor.

Axles: Use 90- up Accord Intermediate shaft with 90-93 Integra axles. To use Prelude intermediate shaft a short left hand axle with a female inner joint must be used. To construct the proper left-hand axle use 94 GSR left-hand axle inner and outer joints on an 86-89 Integra axle shaft.

Shift Linkage: These trans use cables instead of linkage. The shifter mechanism and cables from these vehicles may be used, 90-up, Accord 5 speed or 92- up Prelude 5 speed cables and linkage. This will require some cutting and drilling.

Upper radiator hose: 90 Integra LS, trim to fit

Lower radiator hose: 94 Del SOL VTEC

Throttle Cable: 98 Prelude

Clutch Hydraulics: Stock

Special Instructions: THe mounting bracket on the right-hand frame will need to be removed or it will interfere with the shifter assembly. A thin fan or pusher fan will have to be used with radiator. Radiator should be upgraded to a Del SOL VTEC radiator for increased cooling.

Special Considerations: Suspension and brake upgrades a good idea. The H22A is 175 to 185lbs heavier than stock D-series drive trains and 85lbs heavier than a B16A drivetrain.
