The Sims 3 expansion packs sharing?
In the past you used to be able to do that, but not now, as EA/Origin have changed things too much. If the expansion pack is registered to you on your Origin account, your sister won't be able to install or play it in her game as she has a different Origin account. The game can only be played using one account. If you don't have it registered or have an Origin account and she can install it, it will become hers and only playable in her game on her account. Even though you have it on your computer and may still be able to play it for awhile, eventually it will be stopped. Also, if you would ever need to reinstall, you wouldn't be able to install that EP without re-buying it. So I wouldn't recommend it and hope your sister would understand and learn before she makes that mistake.

No. Origin is EA's answer to pirating games. By making games only obtainable online, from their servers, they've made it more difficult to steal. Additionally, Origin can probably detect if a game isn't a legitimate copy purchased from a retailer or online, so it can easily prevent the problem further. Online-only is one of the most brutal form of DRM (Digital Rights Management). Personally I feel that this is wrong because it represents a lack of trust between EA and its customers and the current state of the pirating situation in society today. It means that games are less accessible and more of a hassle to play, but it's the decision they've made. The only current solution for you as of now is to retry the download process until the game is fully downloaded. Make sure you've got a speedy internet connection. Also do what you can to confirm that there aren't any viruses on your PC, as they can slow a download down to a halt, preventing you from playing your game. If you need an anti-virus software, I recommend AVG or Microsoft Security Essentials, but there are many more you could use as well. I haven't personally found any solutions to the problem, but I've experienced it before and after a few tries, it did eventually work. Good luck!
How can I get free expansion packs on The Sims 4? I'm happy to pay for the actual game I just don't want to buy all the expensive expansion packs.
So what you are telling us, is that although people have worked to make expansions, you do not want to pay for their efforts, but have them give them to you for free? People spent time working on these so you could have more fun with the Sims, shouldn’t they get compensation for their work also? Expansions are just that, extra work that people have done to make the game more fun. It is NOT a necessary part of the game, yet you expect them to give it to you free. The only time I have ever gotten something “free” from a game. is when it is a special gift, for pre ordering a game. Basically to entice someone to purchase a game ahead of time. I know of NO company that gives away ‘free” things, just because a customer ‘wants’ them.

If they are older copies from before the discs started trying to use Origin, then yes, you can install and play them without registering.I didn’t bring the disc for Seasons on vacation once, and forgot to register it with Origin before that, but Origin didn’t care if I wanted to play with that expansion.So you should be fine playing with a mix of registered and unregistered expansions.

did you register your game? If not, then it might be better to wait for Origin to have a sale on the digital version and get that for about $6. No one knows when their next sims 3 sale will be, so keep checking the website. Did your sis completely rip the booklet so that the code can't be pieced together? If you did register your game, then create an origin account (use the same info from your sims 3 account to link them) or log into your origin account and download the free digital copy of your game. All physical discs of the games come with a free digital copy that you can download anytime. This is all the more reason to always register your games as soon as you get them. Also, for times like this, the free digital copy comes in handy. Happy simming!
Sims 3 supernatural not going on origin?
I just bought the sims 3 supernatural expansion pack in disc form and i downloaded it to my computer with no problems and a short cut appeared on my desk top and when i click on it, the regular sims 3 pops up instead. Also the supernatural isn't on origin like the regular sims 3 and i was wanting to know how do i put it on origin for it to work? I do have the sims 3 game. Plz help thank you.
