KIA Hyundai Honda Toyota and Nissan did not take tax payer money to keep there company's running Jeep Chrysler bankrupt Saturn is kaput. Xterra is top heavy SUV on a truck chassis with only17 to 21 miles a gallon Saturn Vue is actually a mini van front wheel drive platform with not so good reliability. I cannot speak to Hyundai and KIA reliability. Jeep Liberty Nissan Xterra are more rugged with available 4x4 can climb like mountain goats on off road. Don't dismiss American cars General Motors, Buick Enclave is a really good SUV thing too. Have you driven a FORD lately some 2009 Ford sedans have bettered Honda and Toyota reliability and quality Camry Accord vs Mercury Milan, Ford Fusion? Remember buy the very best example of the used car you want and can afford. Look at many cars drive what you like. But most of all have the car you select checked out by a third party mechanic before money changes hands. Do that only on the car you really think you want to take home. If the seller does not want the car checked over look at another.
Why is the Nissan Versa cheaper than a Ford Fiesta while Nissan is the most reliable car?
The automatic transmission in the current Fiesta (and Focus) have been a disaster with severe driveability and reliability issues. This is what happens when a major component is not fully engineered, tested and sorted out before going into production. Ford will eventually fix the problem with a different transmission design, but for now the car should only be purchased if it has a manual transmission.

I believe the fj is the best choice, but the Wrangler is close behind. However there is so much things you can do with a wrangler that you can't do with an fj, such as take off the doors, roof and even fold down the front glass. On the contrary the fj is amazing in the mud, but the jeep is lighter and easier to maneuver in the mud as well as around town. On another note i think the jeep might have better gas millage if you get the smaller engine. But if you want a bigger engine get something else because bot the fj and most of the jeeps are v6's so pick either the fj or the jeep.

Under the cargo box behind the seat is a folding rod with a hook or "T" on 1 end and the jack. In or near the rear license plate is a hole in the bumper, insert the hook here and it should hit a tube and slip in. Turn counter-clockwise and the tire comes on on a windlass like a bucket in a well, keep turning to release more cable and drag the tire out. Replace in reverse order. What's wrong with your tire, a nail can be plugged and a valve stem can be replaced cheaper than $30, A slash on the side is not repairable

Good for what? I’d happily use one for a planter in a large garden as an art piece, but for repair bills and longevity as a mode of transportation you’d be better off spending your money on a Honda, or even a Kia. They make a decent project car if you want to buy one now, strip the innards out, and rebuild it with parts from other brands using adapter kids, then in 5–10 years when you’ve got it finished you can say, “I did that”.
