Would My Boyfriend Be Able 2 Get His Weapon Charged Dropped

My boyfriend is in jail. How can the charges be dropped?

Keep making excuses for him.

Eventually your case will end just like most of the other cases of abuse by significant other.

They end one of two ways under most circumstances, here are the choices:

1) The victim finally grows a spine and realizes that they are worth more than a punching bag and escape their attacker.

2) The victim gets DEAD! Assumes room temperature, ceases to be a viable life form, takes the big dirt nap, buys a ticket for the ferry over the river Styx ... pick your euphemism! Bottom line, someone you know will have to identify your remains at the morgue.

Your choice ... live or die. Multiple injuries or freedom. Pain or peace. Wearing the clothes you want to wear, or the clothes that cover up your bruises. Lying to everyone you know ("I fell and my arm broke when it slammed into the pavement", "I am so clumsy! I fell down the stairs and hurt my back!", etc)

I worked in an emergency room, I've seen "the regulars" show up (usually on pay weekend, on base everyone got paid on the same schedule). Very pretty, delicate women with injuries that could only be caused by assault (twisting breaks to the arms, "fist shaped" bruises to the body, Impact injuries to the limbs and body (strangely enough shaped just like a golf club, or a baseball bat, or exactly matching a tire iron).

You get to choose, leave and find yourself someone that deserves your love and attention ... or stay, and take the escalation of abuse until you either get tired of being hurt ... or "assume room temperature".

Choose wisely. Your life is at stake.

Can I drop charges on something even if my parents pressed them?

When I was 13 I did something with someone over the age of 18. Call me what you will, that's not the point. My parents found out 2 years later and pressed charges. I didn't want that. However, he is now going to jail for I believe 5 years to life. When I do turn 18 is there a way I could like... Drop the charges and he would be free from jail? Also, my parents places a restraining order on him from me. Could I also have that lifted?

What the worst senario penalty for a person charge with agrabated domestic assault?

Well just keep this in mind, the courts want to see families stay together. Especially when kids are involved, if there is no physical evidence there might as well be no case....and sometimes even with evidence; burns, bruises nothing happens. But worst case, a restraining order? A few nights in jail....nothing too serious.

What can I do to help get domestic violence charges dropped against my boyfriend/ex-boyfriend?

Recently I had an altercation with my boyfriend/ex-boyfriend in which he physically assaulted me and the police were called by concerned neighbours. They showed up to the residence and asked me to give a statement while he was taken to the police station. They informed me that charges were going to me made and that it would definitely be going to court due to the nature of our relationship. They also mentioned a ‘family violence order’ but I can’t recall much about that other than it meant he couldn’t make threats, physically harm or intimidate me.They informed me that the decision to have charges pressed is out of my hands which came as a massive surprise to me (probably because I watch too much Law & Order). This is not at all what I want. I know I will be safe without the interference of the law system and that leaving him will not be physically difficult. I do not live with him, share assets with him or have any need for it to be settled in court. Most of all, I want him to get better. I know he has the capacity to do so but that he has no self-control and cannot simply hope to do so by will in my presence. Getting better is something he absolutely cannot do with me not even just because of my safety but because it’s not possible for him. He can’t stop while he is with me.He is currently a student and I don’t want it to be hard for him to find a job. He already has massive mental health issues that are undoubtedly the root cause. This will just exaggerate these. I don’t want him to do this to another girl and I don’t think being charged is going to stop that.I know he can better himself and get over this if it’s dealt with properly. I know he wants to do so but has no idea how to. I don’t want him to end up a life-long abuser; miserable in himself and violent to others. I want the good parts of him to take over and for him to have a good life. Albeit without me.I want to know if there is anything I can do as the alleged victim to help the charges be dropped. I know it is mostly out of my hands but I want to do everything I can. Thankyou.

i plead not guilty i haven't been convicted of anything i don't have to put in a plea of guilty or no contest in order to get into a pretrial diversion or deferred prosecution program i was told that if i got into the program i would have to take anger management classes and pay a fine and i would not get prosecuted

Consequences of aggravated assault charge?

My boyfriend was charged with aggravated assault against me. I decided not to press charges but the State has decided to pick up the charge. His bond was set at 5000 which I payed 10% of and got him out. He thinks he has to stay away from me until his next court date December 1st, 2009 which I'm sure he is wrong about. I am most certain it is 72 hours, am I wrong? I also want to know what kind of punishment is he looking at? He has no criminal background. Can this charge be dropped if I do not show up to court? If the police officer shows up to court what will happen? Is there any jail time?

If someone is assaulted and the victim does not press charges, can the assaulter still get into legal trouble?

Others have written good answers and some of those others are lawyers or police officers ... Me? I'm neither, but I think I have a little to add that may help clarify things (but not really add a lot new).In a criminal case, the case reads e.g. New York vs. Joe Smith.  In a civil case, it would be Jane Doe vs. Joe Smith. In a criminal case, the prosecution is done by some combination of police officers, other investigators, and the city, state or federal authorities.  The police are paid by the "people".  If it goes to trial, the attorneys for the prosecution are also paid by the people. Several people raised the fact that, in a murder case, the victim can't press charges. True.  But hardly unique! This also happens in many drug cases, prostitution cases and child/spousal abuse cases. However, it wasn't always so and it isn't so everywhere.  All the above is centered on the USA (although I believe many other countries are similar). Some states have, however, not even tried to prosecute criminals and others make only minor efforts to do so.  This failure may be due to the actual law or it may be due to lack of resources or it may be due to corruption. When this is the case, people take the law into their own hands.  Such places are always very violent.  E.g. the "wild west". I'd be interested to hear about how criminal cases work in other countries.

What's the average sentence for an attempted murder charge?

at one point I was even looking at an attempted murder charge which got dropped to assault with a weapon which I'm still waiting for trial on. I am innocent though, there was alot of confusion. I have another friend that got charged with attempted murder and he was sent to prison for a sentence of 3-5 years but than came out after the first year and spent the next year on prohbation. One cannot say the average sentence really, just depends on the case, your behavior(in court and outside while on bail), priors etc.
Hope everything turns out good for your boy
