Would This Cpu Be Compatible With This Motherboard

What CPU is compatible with this motherboard?

I'm wanting to upgrade my CPU but i've been doing some research and i cant find anything that supports the "0A58h" motherboard. i have a HP DC770 CMT, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Which CPU is compatible with my motherboard?

So I know enough about computers to start upgrading part in it.

Recently I have upgraded my graphics card, hard drive, and monitor. I am now trying to upgrade my CPU WITHOUT getting a new motherboard.

After doing some research, I found one on amazon that I thought would be perfect, it was a dual core 2.8 Ghz speed CPU and i ordered it.

Before ordering it though, i had made sure the socket matched the socket of the CPU I already had. And the CPU I am currently using is a 3.0 Single core pentium 4 CPU with a socket of 775 LGA.

With this known, I made sure the new CPU i was ordering was also socket 775 LGA, which it was.

I ordered it and it came in the mail, and i had installed it into my computer, but i had a problem, the CPU fit nicely, but the fan was NOT built for the computer. It didn't fit and could not be hooked up.

I had called Dell customer service, along with intel and BOTH of them didn't help me at all, I want to know why the fan wasn't the right one, even though it was the same socket. I ended up returning the product.

So, what i'm asking here is, for future reference, even if the socket matches up with my motherboard, how do i know the fan will? There must be another component to making sure a CPU matches with your motherboard.

I will provide all the information I know about the motherboard I have, if you can find one for me that will work, or you know what I did wrong, I will be very greatfull!

- Thank You

How can I know what CPU is compatible with my motherboard?

First you need to know if the MB is for Intel or Amd CPUs. Then you need to know how many pins are in the socket. common sockets today are:socket: 479, 754LGA: 775, 1156, 2011That will tell you what is compatible with the MB.

How would I know if my CPU is compatible with my motherboard?

If you are using a working computer and thinking of upgrading using your existing CPU, you need a program called CPU-Z.(I tried to upload an edit with notations but it's not legible. Here is an example screen shot of CPU-Z)Download it (just Google CPU-Z) , go to the CPU tab and check out where it says “Package.”If you don't have a working computer and you're trying to figure out what hardware you have on hand:Find out the socket type. This is sometimes stamped on the CPU Socket. You can also get your motherboard model number and research its stats. The documentation you find for it will tell you exactly what socket it takes. If you want to ID your CPU, remove the thermal grease (if it has any) and take note of the CPU model number. Let's say it's this one:This is an i7-7700k. If you google this you will find Intel’s product page and the specs on this one will tell you..The FCLGA is the full name which is short for Flip-Chip Land Grid Array traditionally we shorten it to LGA 1151, which is the correct socket type.

Motherboard and cpu compatibility?

No one likes answering these but I really need a upgrade and cybermonday is coming up. How can I make sure my cpu i pick out is compatible with my motherboard? Right now I have a defult motherboard in my gateway. It's a gateway RS780. It also had a defult AMD Phenom X4 9150e. I just want to upgrade the cpu with what would be compatible wtih my current motherboard. I'm semi-savvy with computers but I don't know where I would start. I have installed more ram, wifi card, graphics card, power supply, and blu ray player into this pc. I would REALLY rather not upgrade my motherboard because it would just cause a LOT of problems but i can do so. Any tips?

How do I know if my motherboard is compatible with my gpu/CPU?

Thanks for A2A.As other answers have already indicated, if the graphic card easily fits a slot on your motherboard it is compatible. If you want to delve into the high-end world of gaming and over-clocking to get the absolute peak of performance out of your motherboard and graphic card then you are entering into the area of tuning, which is way beyond what I do.This is when you would start searching dedicated gaming fora to find out “super-performance” of that card relating to various CPUs and memory configurations. If, as your question suggests, you are at the beginning of the learning curve, allow the OS drivers to use default settings. Forced over-clocking and raising the voltage to support it requires that you take the life of your computer into your own hands—no one else will accept the risk.

Motherboard - GA-Z97M-DS3H

CPU - Intel Core i5-8400

Are these two compatible? I have the motherboard and need a cpu upgrade so I can play fortnite. Will these work together?

What Motherboard is compatible with the AMD Phenom 9950 and supports DDR3?

here is a link to the CPU. I'm trying to spec out a PC that supports DDR3 and the top of line ATI GPUs. Thank you!
