Is it considered Child Endangerment to smoke marijuana around kids?
Personally, I have zero respect or tolerance for drug users including potheads. It may or may not be child endangerment, but If I had a child, it wouldn't be left with them until the live in bf - was history. They all claim pot isn't addicting or that it doesn't do anything harmful. So if that's the case - why do they smoke it when kids are in the house at all?? Are they just stupid, insensitive, or uncaring? If it's lack of willpower, that would tell me the whole not-addictive argument is BS. Either way - these arn't the types of people I would want watching my kids. Even if they didn't toke up in front of the kids! Ya know?
Is a parent feeding a child unhealthy foods considered child abuse? Why or why not?
Child abuse is typically defined as something that causes "serious mental harm" to a child, including physical abuse, sexual abuse, neglect, or putting a child in a dangerous situation. Because people can still be considered mentally and physically healthy while eating "unhealthy" foods, this probably wouldn't fit under the category of child abuse. Although I suppose it could depend on what you mean by unhealthy... for example, if the parent solely fed the child potato chips and would give them nothing else even if they asked, that could probably be considered a mild form of abuse.
If children develop illnesses from second-hand smoke from their parents' smoking, is this child abuse? Why?
Reliable studies show the extreme affect on an individual's health from exposure to second-hand smoke. Health care issues include major respiratory disorders, respiratory infections, and cancer. If children develop illnesses contributed to second-hand smoke resulting from their parents' smoking, should this be considered child abuse? why or why not?
