Yahoo Inbox And Old Messages In Folders Going Into Spam Folder

Yahoo mail keeps moving messages from my inbox to my spam box, even old ones which have been there a while!?

It's very irritating. I am having to go through my spam box searching for genuine messages and moving them back to my inbox. If this doesn't stop I will delete yahoo mail in the next couple of weeks. I'm sick of it, and the new layout is awful.

How do I stop getting spam emails and advertisement emails (Yahoo Mail)?

Spam can get to you in different ways and it’s important to know those to avoid spam as much as possible:you subscribed to some online websites that resell your email address to dodgy marketing companies. Note that this is not illegal in many countries if this behaviour is specified in their terms & conditions (we all know that nobody read them, they know too)you subscribed to some online websites but never read their newsletters - due to a lack of interaction with those emails, the spam checker will think that are unwanted emails, therefore it’ll move them into spam.spammers can generate random email addresses to send emails, sometimes they create yours and you get dangerous emails. The spam checker anyway will protect you putting those into the spam folder. Now, for the 3rd point there is nothing that you can do but trust your email service provider (ESP), in this case Yahoo Mail, that is marking an email as spam for you.For the first two points, you can act in this way:If in your inbox and spam folders you find legitimate newsletters that you are not interested in, take your time to go through them and click on the UNSUBSCRIBE link.(Please, use the unsubscribe link and not the spam button for real companies. Sending them to spam would potentially ruin their business as their reputation will get lower, potentially marking their company as dangerous.)Use filters! - Few people know that modern ESPs give you the possibility to automatically filter and organise incoming emails. For Yahoo Mail, enter your settings and find the section FiltersHere, give a name to your filterSpecify the rules (i.e. if you know a specific email address is used to send you spam, write that address in the “From” field)Select the destination for the email (Delete Items if you want to automatically get rid of the incoming spam)Another useful resource is the Yahoo Mail guideline for spam: Manage spam and mailing lists in Yahoo Mail

How can I find hidden inbox emails in my Yahoo email?

Ok i knw what to do..I have been facing the same problem since yesterday...
I tried something and it worked for me...

Go to the classic version of yahoo mail (Old version)
Click on Inbox, you will see all such things on the top like

View: * All| * From Contacts| * From Connections| * Unread| * Flagged

Messages 1-25 of 4568 Go to First page | Go to Previous page | Go to Next page | Go to Last

Now, go to unread and you'll see the two mails that are invisible or kind of invisible.

Check the two mails, read or delete them.

Remember:
On the top You'll see unread mails. Click on that okay...

This worked for me.
Let me know if this work for you as well.

My yahoo mail inbox keeps deleting any email more than a week old - how do i restore settings to stop this?

Hi Catherine,

Yahoo Mail only auto-deletes messages that are in the Spam and Trash folders. If you are having trouble with missing emails or folders, try the troubleshooting steps in the following Yahoo Help articles:

"Messages are missing from the inbox or another folder"
http://help.yahoo.com/kb/index?page=cont...

"Fixing browser and display issues on Yahoo"
http://help.yahoo.com/kb/index?page=cont...

If the messages were deleted and emptied from the Trash folder, you may use the steps in this Yahoo Help article to attempt a recovery. Please know however there is a small window of time our engineering team can use for email restores and they may not always be able to recover deleted messages:

"Restoring missing emails or IMs"

Hope that helps!

How do I view email older than a few months on Yahoo Mail on my old, slow computer without buying a premium account?

I don’t have a premium Yahoo account, and I have mail that is over 13 years old. I didn’t use Yahoo much after I signed up with Gmail, mainly because of their being hacked so many time, so I had over 50,000 unread messages. I wanted to clean it up so I could use it again.I have Thunderbird for my email client, it works in systems as old as Windows XP SP2. I went into my Yahoo account settings and allowed third party software, put my email and password into Thunderbird, and several hours later I had ALL my mail. It took me about an hour to clean it up, and now I have a nice clean mailbox at Yahoo again. My friend sent me some pictures of my son’s baptism 10 years ago that I thought were lost, but no, they were still sitting there nicely on Yahoo’s servers waiting for me to download them.

All of my emails to Hotmail users go to their junk folder. How can I get them into the inbox?

Hotmail is a little tricky, I spoke with their Senior Engineer and he told me that Hotmail will place all emails from new IP’s into the spam folder for up to 6 months as a precaution before they allow it to be sent to the inbox. But, keep in mind, if you don’t follow the postmaster guidelines outlined by Hotmail, you’ll never be able to consistently hit the inbox. The statement above factual with all ESP’s. The most important way to increase your inboxing rate is to configure your mail server properly. Their are so many settings you have to have in place and almost impossible to know them all. That’s why most people use Unlock The Inbox Email Tester, it’s simply the best hands down. No other tester even comes close. It does over 400+ checks depending on your configuration, it’s simply amazing.

How can I transfer a complete Yahoo email folder of 60 emails to a flash drive?

Well, according to Yahoo’s article below it can’t be done directly. But you could install an email client, say for example Mail, Outlook, Thunderbird or such, set up it to access your Yahoo account and use it to export emails as files to your flash drive.Backup email options in Yahoo Mail

Not receiving emails, old messages randomly disappearing, normal messages going to Spam, HELP!?

Hi FlyingShawn,

Not to worry, Yahoo Staff members like myself frequent Yahoo Answers and answer questions like yours.

It sounds less like a case of messages not being received and more like a case of messages going missing, so I'd like to start there. I've investigated your account, but I don't see anything wrong that would cause deletions like the ones you are describing. I recommend you take a look at this Yahoo Help article regarding what could be causing your messages to go missing.

Messages are missing from your Inbox or another folder: http://help.yahoo.com/kb/index?page=cont...

Regarding your filters not working as they should, can you gather the sender, subject and date of messages you expected to be caught and were not, and what filter should have caught them, and send this information to our Yahoo Mail team directly?

https://io.help.yahoo.com/contact/index?...

Submit a request on this issue by selecting "Sending and receiving messages" as the topic, and "unable to receive messages" as the sub-topic. Finally, Click the envelope icon labeled "Email" under "We're here to Help" and fill out the provided form.

Take care!
