How many o2 sensors does my 87 mustang gt have?

Im wanting to replace my o2 sensors, i have never done it to this car since i have only had it for 3 years and i dont know exactly how many it has. Auto parts guy said that it has 4, 2 on each side but when i went under the car i only found 1 on each side of my h pipe so i was wondering if anyone out there knows for sure i would greatly appreciate if you could help..... Thanks

Where is bank 2 sensor 1 O2 sensor on 2001 Mustang GT?

Bank 2 refers to the opposite side of the engine the 1st cylinder in the firing order is located( NOTE: not always the side of the engine where the 2nd cylinder in the order is located) The firing order of the 4.6L 2v motors is 1 - 3 - 7 - 2 - 6 - 5 - 4 - 8. 1-4 being on the passenger side of the car and 5-8 being on the driver side (front to rear). The sensor # refers to the # sensor on the appropriate side of the car heading down the exhaust system. So Bank 2 Sensor 1 is the DRIVER SIDE upstream sensor on your car. Never trust the guys at any AutoZone. Having worked there for 4 years after High School I can attest to the fact that 99% of their employees have very little mechanical knowledge or diagnostic knowledge. They do not require any ASE certifications, even as a parts specialist. Your best sources for Mustang related questions are the following.

Keep in mind that just because an OBDII code of P0153 was thrown doesn't necessarily mean the O2 sensor is bad. It could be a bad electrical connection on the plug.

Hope this answers your question. Always happy to help out a fellow stang owner.

Which o2 sensor is bank 1 sensor 1 on my 99 gmc sonoma, 4.3 4x4?

Bank 1 = Drivers side , Sensor 1= before catalytic converter

Bank 1 Sensor 2 O2 sensor Toyota Corolla?

If you had your car` on a computer to tell you that you need an o2 sensor, they should have told you what it was and where it was, I suspect, bank one is the side with the number one piston, farthest front is no. 1. But only on a V-4, V-6 etc, 1.6 litre sounds like a 4 cyl, inline engine, Go back to the parts store, put the scan on it, get a schematic, and buy the part.

I have a 2001 dodge neon where is my o2 sensor it says bank 1 sensor 2?

That be the rear sensor on the same side as cylinder no1.Not sure of that vehicle and how many o2 sensors it has but if its the sensor after the cat converter giving you that code the cat converter itself is probably at fault and I might get a used one or aftermarket cat converter and replace it.One main mistake made when when replacing o2 sensors is not replacing the actual cause of the o2 sensor going out and that's bec that cat converter fried it or visa versa.

Hope that helps and best of luck.By the way it might be cheaper to go to a U pick auto wreckers and remove these parts yourself.

Where is the 02 sensor located on the 2001 ford taurus??

It depends on which one you are referring to. There are 4. The two upstream ones have the green connector. If it's the one for bank #2, it's relatively easy to access. That would be the one on the radiator side. But I doubt that's the one they are referring to. The other one is on the y-pipe, just below where it connects to the exhaust manifold at the back side. That would be bank #1. The two downstream ones with the blue connectors, which are the catalyst monitors are not easy to access at all. You would have a tough time disconnecting them, as they are mounted on a bracket that sits just above the steering rack. You will also have a tough time clearing the stabilizer bar. With that said, you better find out which one is the one that needs to be replaced. You'll need either an O2 sensor socket, or a 7/8" open end wrench to remove/replace. Good luck.

Where is the o2 bank 2 sensor 1 located on a 1998 lincoln towncar?

I have a 96 Town Car so should be about same...Bank 1 refers to right side (passenger) and bank 2 refers to driver side. There are 2 sensors for each bank. #1 is called upstream and is the sensor before the catalytic converter and #2 is the downstream or after the converter..When I did mine I replaced 1 at a time until check engine light went out..In retrospect, I should have done all 4 at same time for my needs. When you do change them, you have to have car on ramp or stands because you can only get to them from underneath.

I have a Mustang 2001 will it lose power if it doesn't have an exhaust pipe?

I have a 98 3.8. I had a plugged cat on my passenger’s side (4 cats total, two on each side). So, I said well, I'll just cut the pipe after the first cat on both sides and just run it like that for a bit.To make a long story short, it gained a little power, but I'm thinking that's just because the plugged cat was gone. Chances are, you won't notice a difference other than the fact it is VERY loud, both inside and outside of the car. It sounds good at 2500 RPM or lower. Anything over that and it sounds like you have pissed off every hornet in the world and they're all chasing you.
