Older cat missing teeth & dry cat food ?
my otherwise healthy & happy cat is about 10-11 years old & has lost a lot of his front & bottom teeth (he still has all his canines) but i was wondering if i should change his food from dry to wet to accommodate his lack of teeth? does eating hard food hurt him? is it too hard? i'm scared it'll make him fat if i switch over to wet food.
1 year old dog tooth fell out?
Go to the vet to be sure, but I know my dogs, when they get crewing on things, a bit of blood will show up, but its nothing major. How loose was the tooth? Also, my puppy who is now about 1.5 yrs lost his one of his major teeth, but not before turning grey a couple of months back. A new one grew right in, as it was a baby tooth, so that may be the case for your pup, just a tooth thats taking awhile to come out.
Why is my 3 year old dog losing teeth?
I agree this is worth getting checked by your vet. It isn't uncommon for older dogs to loose the incisor teeth (small front teeth), but your dog isn't old. You don't mention your dog's breed. Toy breeds are notorious for having dental issues. Get it checked out. It is possible that your dog suffered some trauma to the mouth and the teeth broke. If so, the roots will need to be removed so they don't get infected. Good luck. His life isn't endangered at this point, but you do need to address the problem. Your dog may be in pain. Also, rotting, abscessed teeth can send bacteria to major organs such as the heart, kidneys, and liver and cause life-threatening organ damage.
Cat missing all top and bottom teeth?
One of our cats, a female spay tuxedo, had to have most of her teeth pulled out because she did not get enough milk when she was a kitten. She only has 3 of her "fangs" and two sets of back teeth but she eats all the normal cat food and gums it to death! Cats can get by with few teeth but they won't live without your love. Glad to hear about the vet visit!
Do teeth grow back if they fall out and you're 13 years old?
Do teeth grow back if they fall out and you're 13 years old?No, teeth never grow back. You’re born with two sets - baby teeth and permanent teeth.Baby teeth fall out and are replaced by permanent teeth. If permanent teeth fall out, they are never replaced (except by implants or dentures)At 13, you should have lost most of your baby teeth, but that’s not a hard-and-fast rule. My son lost his last baby tooth at 17. If we’d been a little more attentive to annual dentist visits, he probably would have lost it long ago.
What does it mean to dream about my front teeth falling out and a new one starts growing that instant?
Wow. There are different meanings in this moment in time when it comes to dreams of losing a tooth/teeth.BUT…in my experience, these “loss of tooth” dreams still represent a loss of something/someone that has been a CONCRETE FIXTURE in your life. In your dream, it seems that you are gonna possibly face a DOUBLE LOSS and since they are your FRONT TEETH, GOD is most likely preparing you for a loss and also letting you know that there will be a replacement as soon as you suffer from loss of these particular things/people.Teeth dreams nowadays can represent different things so just “receive” and go with the answer that happens to RESONATE with you.If it does happen to be a warning of a LOSS, remember that there will be an IMMEDIATE RELIEF step in and take on that role in your life.A loss doesn't necessarily represent a death. It can also mean a severing of ties/ ending of a relationship that you are BOUND TO.Hope this helps.~
Anyone know why my 15 year old toy poodle is hungry all the time?
He is loosing or lost his hearing and sight but still has smell and boy does he smell things out. He.will eat anything. I have been feeding him cucumbers and he can eat a whole hot house cucumber without any problem. I had his blood sugar checked and it was normal...any ideas other than he is going to eat **** and die? Was going to try him on some magnesium minerals but don't know how much to give him any ideas on that. This happen after we were gone for a month on vacation and he stayed with a friend and lost weight down to where he should be and then he went nuts wanting to eat all the time and went to my neighbors house to eat the bread they throw out for the sandhilll cranes so we bought a fence now he eats our brids seeds that fall out of the cages and poop from the other dogs and cats if we don't clean it up. Any ideas?
How can an adult still have baby teeth?
If your adult teeth are trapped in your mouth and unable to erupt (usually the I Tooth in the upper jaw-also known as the maxilla) they have not forced the baby teeth to come loose. When I worked in oral surgery as a dental asst. we did a lot of surgeries to add a bracket to these “floating” teeth so they could be forcibly pulled down and used, for the orthodontist. It was my first procedure I ever saw in OS and I almost passed out ;-) but I got over it after having to excuse myself a few times. It's a simple procedure and it's done because the I (or k9) tooth is very valuable.
How Often Do You Feed Your Dog Canned?
I feed my dog wellness dry food in the morning and wellness dry food and about a desert spoon full (or maybe less than that) of wellness wet food at night. Sometimes I switch the flavour of the dry or wet food, but she looks wonderful and does well on the wellness brand. She is a 3 year old Corgi, who does agility and get about 5/8 miles of exercise a day. I never leave food down all day, for several reasons, food is a powerful thing in the dog world, I make my dog sit and wait to be fed then put it down and she eats it all right away. This is what would happen in a pack of dogs, the top dogs allow the others to eat. If you are not using this to make sure you are the top dog, you are missing a great training opportunity. If your dog doesnt eat the food right away, they are probably not that hungry, need more exercise or don't like what you are feeding. I have been involved in training dogs for 20 years and sometimes free feeding dogs are less motivated to please the Owner and can be overweight. Water is always available for my dogs but food and treats are a privilege to be earned. Hope this helps. EDIT: I give my dog bison or beef bones to chew on and she has no dental issues at all. Another good treat at the end of a trial or long hike.
