10 Week Baby And Chicken Pox

Can you get chicken pox at age 16?

You can get chicken pox at 16. I did. Sucked *** to get it that late in life. It doesn't sound like pox though. Pox look like zits (you can see fluid or something in them), but if you try to pop them, they hurt like a mo-fo. (And if you decide to test that, do it once, and in a place you do not care about cosmetically, because it 100% will leave a small scar). Sounds like a basic rash. People get them sometimes, and sometimes seasonally, due to exposure to some allergen. You are getting them in all of the places that you would expect to see a rash due to allergies.

It does not sound like bed bugs either. I vote rash.

In how many days can the chicken pox be cured?

This is the first question that comes to mind when you suffer from chicken pox. I had the disease recently and I am telling you that once the blisters (fluid containing boils) are visilble it would require you 10 days to completely recover. The first 2-3 days are the most problematic days as far as suffering is concerned. Your body will be weak during this time and you will feel sleepy and may have fever and headache. I didn't have fever though. More and more blisters will start developing starting from the back of the neck to stomach, back, arms and thighs. These are a few pics of typical chicken pox blisters in the initial stage. They appear to contain a white colored fluid. The second stage is the one when new blisters stop developing and the ones that are already there develop into a yellow colored fluid filled dots. They start drying up. This stage takes 4-5 days. In this stage there is usually a lot of itching and you get difficulty in laying down because of blisters all over the back. This is a picture of the 2nd stage.By the end of 7 days you are comfortable and there is no physical problem other than that athletically displeasing blisters are still drying up completely and develop into black spots which automatically peel off in a few days. These are the pics of the same blisters after 9 days of their appearance and they fell off on the 10th day.So, though the physical illness was cured in 6-7 days, it took me 10 complete days counting from the day the symptoms were first visible to completely recover from chicken pox.It takes 14 days after the infection of the virus for the symptoms to be visible. Symptoms are body aching, headaches, fever, sleepiness, loss of appetite and visibility of fluid containing boils.I had been prescribed an antibiotics course for 5 days and some anti itching pills. Following is the picture of the prescribed medication.Hope this is of some help.

Can i breast feed my baby if i have chicken pox?

You should definitely not stop breastfeeding! You will not pass chicken pox through the breastmilk but there is a possiblility that your baby may still contract it due to close proximity to you (regardless of breastfeeding). Breastmilk is full of immunities that actually HELP your baby fight infection. Plus, if your baby does come down with it, breastfeeding will boost their immune system and help him recover quicker. Some anecdotal evidence even suggests that applying breastmilk to the itchy spots helps sooth and heal them.

Is it safe to have sex after having the chicken pox?

Chickenpox is not sexually transmitted disease through semen.Chicken pox(varicella) is very contagious by direct skin contact,by sneezing & coughing. If person has active disease like rashes then better not to go for sex.Better to wait atleast 30 days after complete recovery of symptoms & signs.

Can 60 year old woman who never had chicken pox get it from me or my baby?

Hi, I have booked my mom a flight to visit us. Unfortunately it turned out i got chicken pox, and she will land in 7 days. She has never ever had it and I'm not sure if she should come now. But in general she has good immune system, didn't have anything that would weakened her immune, except for natural cause of getting older...anyways, does anyone know if she can catch it from me or even from mybaby girl who will get it in next 2 weeks for 90% i guess as we are inseparable...please any ideas or even real life similar experience? Thanks a lot

What should I do if I have still not gotten chicken pox at the age of 25?

Most people have had chickenpox even if they don't remember having it. If you are certain you have not had it I would advice you to get vaccinated, especially if there is a chance that you will come in contact with pregnant, non-immunized women or if you can get pregnant yourself.Adults are more likely to develop serious complications from chickenpox than children, these include pneumonia, encephalitis and hepatitis. For example, 10-20% of pregnant women who get chickenpox develop pneumonia, with mortality as high as 40%.Pregnant women who contract chickenpox before 28 weeks of pregnancy have a small (~1-2%) chance that their baby develops congenital varicella syndrome (low birth weight, cutaneous scars, papular lesions, localized absence of skin on a limb, hypoplasia of one or more limbs, malformed digits along with various ocular and central nervous system abnormalities) If a pregnant woman catches chickenpox between 28 to 36 weeks of pregnancy the virus doesn't cause any symptoms in the baby but it stays in the baby's body and may activate within the first few years of the baby's life causing shingles. Newborns of women who developed chickenpox rash 5 days before delivery to 2 days after birth are at risk of severe chickenpox with mortality as high as 30%.There is also a shingles vaccine available for over 50 year olds that reduces your likelihood of developing shingles by 50% an post herpetic neuralgia by 67%.

Is Maggi chicken cubes safe for babies ?

i have a 6 month old baby & he had been refusing his formula since he started teething (over a month now) !
i was advised here to mix his formula with soup or wt so ever, in order to make it a bit tasty for him to take it, i tried cerelac which didn't work, tried apple sauce which failed as well but when i mixed it with veg. soup (cooked with Maggi) he gladly took about 3 oz which made me the happiest :)

however am worried if it's ok to feed him up the formula each time with Maggi !

Pain all over the body following chicken pox?

My 8 year old sister was treated for chicken pox a few weeks back. After almost one week, she started having fever followed by pain (aching kind?) all over her body. The pain is severe, according to her, appears at any time, persists for some 5 - 10 min at max all over the body and then disappears. She doesn't have any rashes or any iching kind of pain, but it is an aching kind of pain, which once appeared can't be relieved by any means, other than just 'suffer and wait' until the pain subsides on its own.

We consulted a paedriatic surgeon, she was given cefixime and ibuprofen. Fever has subsided, though the pain persists now also.

I am deeply upset, and adding to it, my elder sister (15) also has started to get the same kind of pain.(she had already got chicken pox in her child hood). We r really sad,as once the pain appears, there is nothing we can do to relieve the pain, neither a muscle massage, nor any thing helps.

Please tell me what it is all about.... Please help...
