1000 Mg Valerian Root For Anxiety

How much Valerian root can I take? ?

I just started taking Valerian last week. I don''t need it for a sleep aid - I need it for anxiety. I think I'm pre- menopause - lately, I find myself getting sooooo angry over the stupidest little things that would never normally bother me. I know my blood pressure must have been going sky high - my body hurt from being so tense with anger. Since this happens in the daytime - that's when I take it. I know a lot of people have said it doesn't work for them, but for me it's been a Godsend! Within 20 minutes or so of taking it, I felt calmer. Within an hour I felt like my old self again. Very happy and calm now. Since I'm taking it in the daytime, I don't want to be sedated - I take one 450 mg. capsule in the AM, and don't need anymore than that. I think I may be mildly manic -depressive so I would highly recommend it for anyone with a mild case of this disorder. Positive extras that I've noticed since I've started taking it - eating less because I don't get hungry as often and get full faster (my excessive eating before may have been stress eating perhaps?), and I'm a pack a day smoker, and I'm craving far fewer cigarettes through the day - again may be related to overall anxiety/stress reduction. I have more energy, and still sleep well at night, though I don't take anymore than 1 capsule in the mornings. From what I've read, many people do not have the great success I've had with this low dose of an herbal supplement - some report feeling more anxious, headaches, depression, etc. For me though - it's the best thing I could have stumbled across. Everyone's different though. Try just one tablet in the AM for a few days and see how it works for you. I noticed the difference shortly after taking it.

Valerian Root Extract 1000 mg?

Valerian does not make you sleepy until you take high doses. 1000mg is a moderate amount for anti-anxiety. I've found Valerian to suit my needs at doses that fit me personally, and I've tried prescription anti-anxiety and insomnia medications.

I'd try a propriety mix of Valerian, Hops, and Skullcap.

I with hesitation offer Kava Kava (although many say it is undue. personally, I take it in moderation). It is legal in the states, but due to studies at high doses during long durations that showed liver toxicity, it was taken off the shelves in a few UK countries. However, recent reports seem to paint the picture that the tests were irrelevant because the dose and duration administered was unrealistically high, and that any amount of anything at such high doses will cause serious problems.

That said, Kava Kava is extremely effective in administrating calm. It will not cause sleepiness. If you try 2-3 bags of tea, it will really calm you for hours (first hour the most).

Can you get high off Valerian Root?

Hi i have recently been experiencing a lot of anxiety. I've been reffered to a psychiatrist but im not into all of that medication as i know benzos can be quite bad for you. I have heard taht valerian root can really help with anxiety. The only thing im concerned about is if that this natural option can still cause "high like" effects. What im asking is if valerian root can produce "highs" equivalent to xanax/valium/klonopin etc. and if so how much would it take to feel those effects. If anyone has any other options other than valerian root please share because im not looking to get "high" off of it. Thanks.

What happens if i take the vitamin VALERIAN 1000MG and Xanax (Alprazolam)?? is it safe?

According to " Guide to over the counter - Drugs, Vitamins, and Natural Medicines (Time Life), valerian should not be taken with conventional tranquilizers, such as xanax. It may produce adverse side effects. Valerian may produce excitability in some people, paradoxically. Xanax ( alprazolam) too adverse side effects. It is about a mile long (figurative of course). Do it daily. You soon get addicted to a healthy drug.

Dosage of passion flower for anxiety?

I cannot find any consistent answers for this online. I have anxiety and depression and I bought passion flower supplements (not drops) and they are 1000mg. The bottle says to take one up to four times a day. I've heard of only taking 90mg a day, so these numbers are so off! By the way, I've been taking one or two a day for a month and it's not helping at all. Am I taking too much, not enough? Are there other supplements that work better? ( I can't take st johns wort bc I'm on the Pill)
