15 Year Old Flying Alone

15 year old fly alone?

Hi,

I am going to be flying alone next month on Southwest Airlines from Portland to San Diego, and from Burbank to Portland. I am 15, and have parental permission, and the tickets are booked. I do not have unaccompanied minor services. However, I am wondering if it is required for a parent/guardian to show up at the airport with me (it would be much easier for me to arrive alone). I have a passport I can use as a photo ID.

Thanks,
Patrick Spence

6 year old flying alone?

My six year old daughter is going to fly on a nonstop flight from Minneapolis, MN to Fairbanks, AK. (about 5 hours) I know the airlines will let them fly alone from age 5, and I am comfortable with it because I used to when I was young. But her father is having doubts. What is everyones opinion?

Can a 15-year-old fly alone on Swissair?

Sidebar:Swissair ceased trading in 2002. See Swissair - Wikipedia. You are probably referring to Swiss International Air Lines - Wikipedia which became the new Swiss national carrier after Swissair failed, though it was built up from the old regional Crossair company rather than the Swissair assets.

Can a 15 year old fly to Japan alone?

Yes, some airlines provide assistance for minor travelers. For example, ANA provided Unaccompanied Minor Traveler care:Passengers traveling with infants or small childrenFor older children, they also provide general check-in and debarkation support:ANA Airport Support [International Flights]I am assuming you are doing this with the knowledge and support of your parent. If you just show up at the airport with a stack of cash and a passport, the airline will most likely stop you. They can get in trouble for transporting a minor out of the country without a parent or legal guardian consent.

Can a 15 year old travel alone?

Yes, You may travel alone provided you fill up a form the airline using the UMNR (Un-accompanied Minor Form) which states a guardian signature & approval for releasing you to the airlines care during the trip & the person receiving you upon your arrival. Full names & contact details must be provided. In terms of purchasing the ticket you may anytime as long as the form must or should be done within the 7-days period before you travel. The form must be submitted to the airline & must be confirmed with a stamped on the form & you must carry the remaining forms. You must present the UMNR form to the airline check-in counter & must always have the form with you as the flight attendant will also take another sheet from the form before & after the travel. You must also confirm if u need a full seervice assistance or just a regular UMNR.

Expedia won't let a 17 year old fly alone?

You are putting a check in the box for minor aren't you? You cannot do that unless you want her to fly usint the unaccompanied minor program...you have to CALL to buy the ticket and make the arrangements for that. If she is going to fly as an adult, you have to put the check mark in the box for adults and just mark that she is 18. it is just the way ticket sites are set up to work. if she is going to fly as an adult, she must be listed as an adult in order to buy the ticket on line. try it, it will work like a charm.

Would you let your 15 year old fly alone and switch planes by themselve's?

Honestly it depends on your child. If I had a 15 year old who was responsible enough I wouldn't mind. But if I knew my 15 year old isn't mature enough to be out on his or her own, then no. So don't let others figure this out for you, work it out on your own. You know your daughter well, you can tell if she'll be able to manage on her own.
