17 and pregnant by 23 year old! help!?
I am 17 years old and I'm almost 6 months pregnant. At the time me and the father had sex I was 16 and he was 22. My family knows his age but I was wondering once I have my baby if I put his name down on the birth certificate would they look him up and find out his age and notify the police? I'm in the US. If my mum tells them she approves of our relationship would they leave him alone or still take him to jail for statutory rape? Please help me, he is the father of my unborn child and I don't want him to go to jail because it wasn't rape whatsoever.

Please don't tell me I shouldn't have sex with guys this age or not have sex at all. It is not going to change anything, it'll just annoy me but yeah. I missed my period so I took a pregnancy test and it came back positive. I'm not scared to tell my parents that I'm pregnant at all, I'm just worried about what I'm going to say when they ask who the father is. Because they already know about this 24 year they know we were talking but not having sex and they called the cops and they called him and told him not to talk to me anymore so he blocked me on facebook and I was crying my eyes out. I have no way of even telling him but I want him to be in the child's life, I know he'll want to because he got this 16 year old pregnant and he wants to see the baby but she said no not untill he straightens his life out. But how am I supposed to have him there for the birth and around my house with the baby if my parents can't know because if they do they will surely send him to jail and he would hate me for ever and my child would grow up without a father. Meaning once they turn 16 they are considered by law old enough to consent to having sex (no matter the age of the other person) and it won't matter what her parents think about the sex. and they can't press charges themselves since their daughter was considered old enough by law to consent it isn't rape.
