16 Year Old Testicular Cancer

I think I might have testicular cancer!!??!?

I know it's difficult but the first thing you need to do is NOT panic. It is unlikely to be cancer but you DO need to tell your Dad and you DO need to see a doctor.

Is a lump in the testis always cancer?
There are other lumps that can be found in the testis that can be non-cancerous. It is important to see a doctor to make sure any lumps felt are not testicular cancer. An ultrasound examination of the testis can find out what type of lump it is. The main types of non-cancerous lumps are:

Epididymal cyst
Epididymal cysts are fluid-filled cysts that come from the epididymis, and are very common. Often discovered when about the size of a pea, they feel slightly separate from the top of the testis. These lumps can slowly increase in size and can feel like a third testis. Epididymal cysts can happen at any age and should be left alone when still small, but can be removed with surgery if they become larger.

Spermatocele
Spermatocele are similar to epididymal cysts. The only differences are that the lump is usually connected to the testis, and the swelling is filled with fluid containing sperm and sperm-like cells.

Hydatid of Morgagni
Found at the top of the testis, a Hydatid of Morgagni is a small cyst that is separate from the epididymis and sometimes found on a thin strand of tissue. These common cysts are moveable and can cause pain if they twist. There is no risk of cancer from these cysts, and unless they are causing pain, should be left alone.

Who should I see for help?
If you notice a hard lump or any change in your testes you should see a local doctor straight away. The local doctor may then give a referral to a specialist (urologist). A urologist deals specifically with problems in the genital and urinary tracts of both men and women.

Can a 13 year old get Testicular Cancer?

I'm 13 and recently my right testicle has had a bad ache and it moves into my legs and groin. There are no lumps or anything else and this just has me worried. There's no history of it in my family. Is this just a phase in puberty? And I don't feel comfortable telling my mom it's hurting and I need to go to the doctor because we have little money and I'm not sure if we could afford it. And what if I do have it is there any chance I could prevent it? And also there has been no blood in semen or pee.
Please help. Thanks!

Do i have testicular cancer at 16?!?

Ok heres the problem... about a year and a half ago i started noticing large vein-like lumps in my left testicle, some long soft parts that can be moved and other round, harder parts- the lump/s is around 1 inch x 2cm, so very big.

I have just started noticing the lumps again because of an ache that has returned after a year. The teste is less descended than the right one, and i do not have any problems with my semen or any discharge etc. The lumps are most noticible when standing, and i have no 'pain' in my groin.

I have put off visiting a GP because i fear bad news :/ Only INFORMED answers please, thanks (:

Can 11 years old boys get testicular cancer?

Yes, 11 year old boys can get testicular cancer. There is a childhood germ cell testicular cancer. It is considered rare, but the fact that he has a lump means you should not ignore this. He definitely needs to have this checked out . . hopefully this will turn out to be a scare, but please do not dismiss your childs concerns so easily. I didn't listen to my son when he was trying to tell me he felt something in his abdomen .. turns out he had five abdominal tumors and he died. Don't waste anymore time.

"What are the symptoms of germ cell tumors?

The signs and symptoms of germ cell tumors differ depending on where they begin:

* Testicular germ cell tumors (the testes): These are commonly seen as a painless mass in the scrotum (the skin that holds the testicles). In small boys, tumors here may be noticed by the parents. In teen-aged boys, testicular tumors may be more difficult to detect if parents and teens are uncomfortable discussing such intimate matters."

Testicular cancer symptoms?

Martin - Cancer? NO! Infection? YES!! Where? Viral flu + something else !!!
With sore testicles, but no sign of a lump, you can pretty well eliminate a diagnosis of cancer in a 16-year old teenager. Let's continue... IF you have become sexually active, like with another partner, a sexually transmitted infection, such as gonorrhea involving the testes, is possible, BUT with no pus discharge from the penis and no burning, it's unlikely. In your ball (testicular) sac, you have more than just testes; you also have the epididymis, which is on the ball surface and carries sperm away from the testes on the way out of the body. Such inflammation is known as epididymitis and it cane cause sore testicles. There are other causes of infections. In the United States, the most common pathogen in adult infectious epididymitis is Chlamydia trachomatis. Common bacteria causing epididymitis in boys include E. coli and Haemophilis influenzae. Rare pathogens, such as Salmonella, Pseudomonas, and other viral infections have been reported. Just maybe the same "bug" that's causing your flu is also causing your testes to be sore. Best would be to see your doctor and take along a copy of this Answer. Good luck.

I’m 25 and I’m dying of testicular cancer and haven’t told anyone about it because I’m ashamed of it. Not even my family knows. What should I do?

Please, please, please. Don't do this. Tell your family about this. I know you don't want them to get hurt or become sad because of you, I'm sorry to say this, but you die all of a sudden and then they come to know that their child/friend/SO kept this from them? Do you think that they'll be okay? Do you know what they'll think? They would've wished that they could've helped you. Your parents, they gave birth to you. How would you feel if the same thing happened to you? Really sad, no? You will feel helpless. And there is nothing to be scared of. Please, don't be ashamed of it. It can happen to anyone and anytime. Unfortunately, it isn't in our hands to figure out when. You WILL get well. And you WILL come on Quora and tell us that you're finally happy and well.Tell your parents about it, accept their love. You will be surprised by how love can heal some wounds.Take care.:’)Edit : Thanks Rahul Bhaskar for pointing out my mistake! ^_^ :’)
