17 And Scared To Fly Alone.

I'm scared to fly alone?

Im 16 and I haven been on an airplane since I was 5. All I remember was my mom pointing out the window and saying something like "look you can see Disney world!" (since we were going there and she wanted me excited haha) anyway, like I said I'm 16 and Im flying to Pennsylvania from Illinois alone. It's not so much that I'm scared of being alone because I'm a big girl, I know how to be independent and all. It's mostly that Im scared to fly because I hear about crashes a lot and I'm also worried about not knowing how exactly to get around the airport. I'll be taking 3 flights total. Flying to pa staying for 2 months, flying from pa to Disney world then flying home to Iowa. I'm terrified of planes. How am I supposed to keep calm and get through each ride without feeling sick? (i feel sick when i get too nervous) Any advise on flying alone also? Or just flying in general?? Thanks!

Scared to fly on a plane alone. ?

So I'm 17. I know, I can't believe I'm saying this, but I'm nervous to fly alone. I have anxiety, and I'm scared of having a panic attack on the plane and having no one there for me. And I'm scared about going through security alone, and not knowing where I'm going or where my gate is. I'm honestly freaking out xD And the flight is only 2 hours. Any tips on travelling for the first time alone?

I'm scared to fly alone?

I'm 15 years old and in a few weeks I am flying from Denver to Boston by myself. I've never flown alone before, sometimes with my older brother, but that's not the same thing. The flight is four hours long, so it's not too bad. I'm not afraid of planes though. I mean, sometimes the take off and landing makes me a little uncomfortable but I'm not scared really. I'm scared of airports. Since I'm 15 I'm no longer considered an unaccompanied minor so I have to figure everything out by myself. Im afraid of going through security. I'm afraid I won't be able to find my gate. Im afraid i wont know when to board my flight. Im afraid my flight will get delayed or cancelled. I'm afraid that when I land I won't be able to find the baggage claim, and I won't be able to find the people who are supposed to meet me. How do I stop being so scared? I get major anxiety in airports, so could someone explain to me how to find everything and what to do and how to stop being so afraid? Thank you everyone.

Can a 16 year old travel alone?

Yes you can travel on your own as a 16 year old. As long as you have photo ID such as a passport to confirm your identity. Hopefully someone will be meeting you at the airport in London to pick you up so all you need to do is get on the plane by yourself. There is absolutely nothing to worry about and you will be fine. If you need any help, the airline staff are always there to help.If you mean that you are making the entire trip on your own then I would think that you would find it difficult to get a hotel room at your age. You usually need to be 18 to book a hotel room and you need a credit card in order to secure the room against any damages caused.I think the Travelodge allows under 18's to stay there so you might want to try there if you are on your own. If you are not used to travelling on your own you should make sure that you take extra security precautions when out and about such as not taking any valuables and not looking like a tourist.I hope you enjoy your stay in London.

Flying at 18 weeks pregnant.. Very scared?

Hey hon. i totally know how you feel. i had to fly when i was about 20 weeks back in my first pregnancy. and first off i am terrified of flying. its one of my biggest fears. i was so scared, and i had to fly alone. but once i got on the plane after about 20 minutes i calmed down. not completely, but to the point where my anxiety over it was mangageable. try not to stress. also, don't worry. i promise you that flying does not hurt your baby when you are pregnant. it is completely safe to fly during pregnancy. the only time you are not suppose to fly is late in the third trimester, and that is only a safety precaution just in case you would go into labor, they don't want you to be on the plane when you go into labor. but otherwise there is nothing dangerous to the baby about flying. my baby flew with me when i was pregnant with her, and now she's a very happy, healthy toddler. :) perhaps you could bring something on the flight to distract you. some good books, or an ipod or c player, or a portable dvd player. lap top. something fun to do, to help calm you down. that's what i did. listened to my music the whole time.

good luck.

I'm flying to college alone and I am 17.?

I am going to Houston for college and I am from chicago. I have to fly all the way down there alone. We cant afford any other option. I am honestly scared out of my mind because I have never been on a plane, my mother is always with me with EVERYTHING i do, and i know its really hot down there. How do I get confident over this situation. I feel like I should have chose different schools now.

Im 16 and flying alone, can my parents walk me through security and wait till i get on the plane?

no, your parents are only allowed to walk you up to the security check point, and after that you have to proceed alone.
i had to fly alone at your age, and i was super scared. however, after i went through security, i was able to use the signs and it was super easy to find my gate.
