In Texas, 17 dating a 22 year old legal?
I'm seventeen and I want to date this guy that is a mutual friend between me and this girl. He is 22 and I'm 17 so I was wondering if we'd get in trouble because I've heard that once you're seventeen in Texas you're considered an adult and won't get into trouble. I just need clarification.

The thing is, the changes you go through from 18-22 maturity wise are huge. The fact that you aren't looking for a serious relationship from him is a good thing. And hey, it worked out for your parents alright, so I'm not saying it wont work out for you. But I can tell you from experience, as mature as you think you are at 18, when you are 23-24 you are going to look back as think to yourself, "how did I ever think I was mature!" The bigger concern I would have with the situation is, why is the 23-24 year old hanging around asking 18 year olds out. That seems like a much bigger red flag than an 18 year old being interested in a 23-24 year old.

i know i already asked that question.....but im just looking for more opinions this girl told me she liked me i am really hesisitating because i am 22 ready to turn 23 in March she just turned 18 she is still a senior in high school and i graduated college in May shes pretty and all and is very sweet to me the parents like her but she likes to party like i do....i know this isnt important but if shes hanging around 18yr olds....i shouldnt be around them w alcohol and i go to the bars....which she cant im just hesistant about the maturity part because i just got a real world 9a-5p accounting job and ready to settle down but she is still in high school and has yet to go to college, but going to college locally i just feel we are at 2 different parts in our life......should i still give her a chance?? what do you all think?? im not a pedifile if i do right??? i mean she is of legal age
