18 Year Old With Chest Pain Answer

Chest pain in 18 year old male?

If you are really worried about it you can have your Doctor reference a cardiologist for you to do a cardiac stress test and if he/she found anything there he/she would do an Echo test. I would tell you though that I would think that 99.99999% for sure your chest pain is related to anxiety. Anxiety can absolutely cause chest pain, what people dont realize is when they get stressed and anxious they start to breath slightly faster. This causes you to blow off all your CO2 and causes respitory accidotis. This can cause a number of different signs and syptoms including chest pain, shortness of breath, nausea, numbness and tingling in the face, arms, legs, and feet, dizziness, lightheadness. When you exercise you control your breathing and it relieves stress, this is probally why exercise makes the chest pain go away.

Chest pains in 18 year old female?

The only way your friend died of a heart attack at 16 was if he/she had a serious underlying illness such as Sickle Cell or Familial Hyperlipidaemia *or* had a previous heart transplant.

Similarly the only heart attacks in the family that are significant are those that occur before the age of 40 in close relatives going back through several generations.

Methinks you're confusing two very different things: cardiac arrest and heart attack (properly called a myocardial infarction). Your friend may well have died of a cardiac arrest at 16 but that is not the same as dying of a heart attack (and far too few teenagers our age know the difference...or even that there is one great walloping difference between the two events!).

The vast majority of chest pain in teenagers and young adults is caused by muscular-skeletal problems, nothing to do with their hearts. As you're on the pill, you may want to have your GP check your lungs fora PE just in case; noit that I thik it's likely but maybe it'd reassure you. However TBH it does sound more like your pain is down to something muscular/skeletal in origin. Either way there is absolutely nothing in your description that says "heart" to me and most certainly not an impending heart attack.

Chest pain in 18 year old?

for the past..10 minutes, I've been having a sharp-ish chest pain. It feels like its a little hard to breath, but my breathing pattern has not changed. It started being left sided,, pretty much right on my heart..now its a little more central, but still mostly left sided. Its not terrible pain..about a 2-3/10. But its bothersome. Several years ago, I had an ultrasound on my heart because they heard a murmur. I was told there was a small hole and there was nothing to worry about. I get these pains every now and then, but not all the time. Normally I'm not doing anything strenuous, just like sitting at my computer or lying in bed or something. Is it possible to develop angina or have a heart attack at this young an age? Also, as an added note, I do have a family history of heart problems. Should I be going to see my doctor? OH, and I'm on antibiotics (tonsillitis) right now, could this pain be the cause of the antibiotics?

I’m a healthy 18-year-old who has a sharp chest pain after I get up from bending down, sitting, slouching and anytime I move my body around then get back in proper posture. What could this be?

Consult with a doctor & get your blood pressure checked. Might be hypertension.Another possibility, if you work a lot with your hands in front of you, like at a computer, your chest muscles might be getting tight. A good way to stretch is to grab a door frame & gently turn your body away so your hand & arm are gently being stretched behind you. Grab low, shoulder height & up. Go into the stretch gentle, but not to the point of pain & hold about 20 seconds, then ease out of it. Stretch both sides. You can also invest in a hard foam roller. (Any physical therapist or chiropractor should be able to help). Lie on it with the roller down the length of your spine & just let your shoulders relax. This will give you a good stretch. After about 30 seconds, roll off the side & onto the floor & just relax a bit before getting up.most important is to check with a doctor though. Don’t put it off.

Do you get chest pains in the age of 16?

Ever hear of the term “growing pains”? :)Teenagers’ bodies are changing very quickly due to growth spurts and hormones and different stresses they’re putting through with drinking, smoking, sports, sex, etc. “Growing pains” was a dismissive term used by adults, and even by doctors, as a way of saying, “Look, what you’re feeling is probably totally normal and nothing to worry about. Ignore it and it’ll go away and a new and different one will pop up next week.”Teens today are hit with an intensive media health-worry blast, particularly if they smoke tobacco (Heh, while the smoke from marijuana is generally treated as though it were holy incense from Heavenly High (pun wasn’t intended… LOL!) and as harmless as a pot (pun intended this time) of chicken soup made with mother’s love.I’ve seen people out on the internet and even here on Quora worrying about getting cancer because they’d hung out with some friends outdoors one afternoon while the friends were smoking! This is so far from being a realistic worry that I like to compare it to worrying about going outdoors in “butterfly season” for fear that a butterfly will fly into your eye just as you’re at a street curb and startle you into stepping into the path and under the wheels of a speeding trolley. (Actually, for those worrying that the pains they’re now feeling are cancers caused by that exposure, the worry about the butterfly death is probably more realistic!)Aside from the smoking thing though, the bombardment of things on TV and in readings about all sorts of various terrible risks and diseases have, I am afraid, been a source of a real and largely unrecognized harm to teenagers today as they literally “worry themselves sick” imagining that every little normal symptom or sign from their bodies is a signal that they’re going to die soon.Probably the best thing for you to do, given your concerns IS to go to a doctor for a thorough examination and discussion, hopefully with a doctor you’ll feel good about and who you can talk to, and one whose judgement you will trust when they (in all likelihood) tell you that you’re perfectly fine and to go back out and forget about examining yourself every morning, afternoon, and evening for signs of imminent death.MJM, not a doctor, but a guy who DID worry a lot about all his aches and pains in his teens and twenties and drove his doctor nuts with worries and concerns that were all absolutely meaningless in terms of needing any form of treatment…

I'm 26 years old and I've been experiencing mild chest pain frequently for the past 2 months. Is this an indication of a heart attack?

The original question is:I'm 26 years old and I've been  experiencing mild chest pain frequently for the past 2 months. Is this  an indication of a heart attack?Answer:Chest pain (angina) could be an indication of coronary insufficiency (insufficient blood flow through one or more of the heart's arteries), which could lead to a heart attack. You should see a doctor as soon as possible. If treated early it can be prevented from becoming catastrophic by medication or a medical procedure. It happened to me and as a result I had a heart attack, lost 40% of my heart's capacity, and had to have triple bypass operation. All of that could have been prevented if only I had seen my doctor at the first sign.

Random annoying chest pains on an 18 year old girl.?

Okay, so here I am, a young, healthy, athletic, 18 year old girl on my way to a rock concert by train. I'm sitting there and i discover I have this dull pain on my upper left chest that randomly comes and goes like every 10 seconds, maybe? Anyway, I asked my mom, and she said it could be a muscle spasm, or even heartburn. I did have small symptoms of a heartburn, but that went away. So today the day after, I feel this dull annoying pain, and I would like for it to go away. I'm not sure whether it could be my pectorial muscle, or maybe a heart valve. I don't know, but I know I have had a regular heartbeat, no pounding, and when I get checked out by the doctor, my heart is perfect. My mom also suggested concentrating on other things, and funny how it seems, it worked. But me being a stupid hypochondriact, I concentrated on the pain this morning, and it's here. So is this a serious problem that I have to see a cardiologist for? I will see my doctor if needed. Thanks!
