2 Community Colleges And Want To Transfer To Auburn Help

Want to transfer to Auburn... Will they accept me?

Look, I'm going to be extremely honest with you. There is no way you're getting into Auburn with that gpa. And even if you did, what makes you think you would succeed there? Here's my advice for you. Go to a community college for awhile and get your general education classes out of the way. When you have completed enough credits for an associate degree, then try and transfer to a local state college. While in community college you will need to work very hard to bring that gpa up, or you can kiss your college dreams goodbye. There is not university that will accept a 1.2 gpa and at most universities you cannot graduate if your gpa is under a 2.0.

Consider why your gpa is so low. Are you just a lazy student, or are you just not a very good student? If it is the latter instead of the former, don't even think about a school like Auburn because you will likely flunk out. Even if you are the former, you will likely flunk out if you don't get your act together.

Do not spend 3 years trying to get into a certain school. You are wasting your time and money. Get a good gpa at community college transfer when you have 60 some odd credits, and go to whatever state school will accept you, graduate and get a job. Once you've had your first job, the school you went to doesn't matter so wasting time trying to get into a prestigious school instead of spending that time at a different school and graduating is a very bad idea.

Will I get a bachelor degree in community college?

My sister says I should take community college before going to a university so I'd be 19 going into CC and then at 21 I'll be in university. I'm trying to get a masters in teaching so getting a bachelor takes four years and a masters is two years and so ill be 27 when I'm finished right?

Good schools to transfer to from a community college?

I am a community college student with a gpa of around 3.6, (doing my best to bring that number up). I have a decent amount of extra cirriculars (also doing my best to bring that up). I'll be applying to schools this fall, I was wondering which schools, private and public, I should be applying to. I'm not worrying so much about tuition.

So far I'm going to apply to some local private colleges, like Pomona College and UCI,UCLA,UCSD,UC BERKELEY (yes i'm from socal-don't mind going to the east coast for college).
I also plan on applying to Colombia, Caltech, Cornel, Princeton, USC and ... University of Chicago (<-- the loser from the east side d: )

[:

Really would appreciate a list of nice schools to look at and apply to-even more obscure private ones (anything that might ease my transition into medical school-if i even get in O;-lol ;D).

Will I get accepted to Auburn University?

GPA is good, so it kind of depends on chance and if you have completed the core classes that Auburn wants. Your college GPA is certainly a full point above the minimum and you have done at least 30 credit hours, so Auburn might not ask you for your high school transcript.

Just apply and see. If you don't just go back to your local community college to take more classes and try again after a year.

Ok I got accepted to my Hunter college and Hofstra University i can afford hunter but not hofstra. What to do?

Save your money and go to Hunter College (CUNY), because the Bachelor's degree isn't worth what it used to be. A lot of people these days have a Bachelor's degree. You be even better off going to a community college and bite your pride and save even more money and then transfer to where you wanna go. Make sure you get a lot of work experience in your field and get good grades so that you can get scholarships when you are in college and also to the college you wish to transfer to when you leave the community college. a lot of jobs these days want experience and are not focused on degrees anymore. You need both the dree and the education and that is what will make you stand out above the others.

Is there any community college that will allow me to take calculus, without taking pre-calculus?

Yes, at most colleges/universities you can take a placement test. My first year in college, I was attending a community college and was required to take a math placement exam. My score was about 88–90th percentile, meaning I scored higher than 88%–90% of people taking that exam. My score was high enough to skip the pre-calculus algebra & trigonometry courses and start with Calculus 1 my first semester. Needless to say, I chose to start with Calculus 1 and skip pre-calculus. I was advised by the head of the Math department at the college that even though I scored high enough to skip pre-calculus, that I really needed to learn that material first. Of course, I was 18 and didn’t think I had any reason to take any courses that weren’t 100% required for me to take, so I didn’t listen. Hindsight, you will have a lot more difficulty learning the pre-calculus methods needed in calculus, if you choose to start with calculus, than you would if you choose to start with pre-calculus. Having said that, it is definitely not impossible. I can attest to that, and I went on to complete a Master’s degree in math, currently pursuing a PhD. Good luck with whatever you decide to do.

Will I be accepted into Auburn University?

I know two people that got into Auburn and they both have 4.0. I'm no admissions officer but I'm pretty sure that you will not get into Auburn. Auburn is a really hard school to get into and you need a kick *** GPA, volunteer hours, and extracurriculars. I'm not sure if you have all the other factors but I know your GPA is not the best.

But there is good news! You seem to be very dedicated to school and are working hard on improving your grades. You may not be able to get into Auburn but you can get into many other colleges. Your SAT score is awesome! I would suggest you go to a college that you really like and transfer to Auburn your sophomore year. Your grades are only getting better so I'm sure they will still be good in college.

Like I said I'm not an admissions officer so it really depends. You seem to have your mind set on going there so why not apply anyways and wait and for your results.

Good luck!

Extracurriculars for an english major wanting to transfer?

chuckles, thanks for your informative answer, but it wasn't really what i'm looking for. i'm not looking for a job with my major.

the personal statement question:

What is your intended major? Discuss how your interest in the subject developed and describe any experience you have had in the field — such as volunteer work, internships and employment, participation in student organizations and activities — and what you have gained from your involvement.

i need something to talk about and i don't have anything so i wanted to do something in the summer but i don't know what..

Chances of Brown to Harvard/Yale/Columbia Transfer?

Honestly, there's no need to lie on a public forum. First off, if you were in an ivy league already, you would know that Harvard isn't currently accepting transfers. Secondly, the tuition at the ivy league colleges isn't that much more then your average state school. Almost all of my classmates were on some form of grants or scholarships. VERY FEW, if any students pay even close to full tuition. The ivy league schools have extremely generous financial aid programs. The only way you would be able to get into Harvard would be if you were looking into the extension schools. But, if you were in an ivy league institution already, you would know that the extension schools don't have any prestige at all. No point in lying on a forum where nobody knows you. When I was in Yale, I payed about 10k a year for tuition as did most of my classmates.

As for the other choices, you have a chance, but they accept so few transfers as it is, nothing's a guarantee.
