20 Weeks Today Anyone Else Feel Like .

Has anyone else felt like this?

I am 20 weeks pregnant now. It took me two years to conceive. I was diagnosed with PCOS in April, and after losing 10kgs and taking metformin for 3 months, i fell pregnant naturally.

I had a glucose tolerance test 3 weeks ago. On Monday i went for my scan, and it really really hurt. The woman bruised my tummy and even broke my skin (i don't think she had enough gel on the scanner for making it glide). And then that afternoon i went to my Obgyn and he said that my GTT was high, and i have to go to a pregnancy diabetes specialist. And i went there this morning. Basically, given my history and my results, there is no way that i can avoid having to move on to insulin injections before the end of my pregnancy- no matter how good my diet and exercise is.

So, now i am finding myself thinking that i wish i had never gotten pregnant. I am worried that i will end up resenting this baby (And yes, i know it's not the baby's 'fault'). I feel like nobody told me what the real risks for me getting pregnant were, in fact, the doc was going to help me get pregnant when we found out i already was. He never said 'given how high your sugars are when you're not pregnant, you will most definitely develop gestational diabetes, and end up needing insulin.' Every one was kind of sugar coating things before, and now there's a problem it's me who has to deal with it.

I say the doctor should have known because my 2hr GTT levels were over 8 before i was pregnant. While 8-11 is considered pre-diabetic when you're not pregnant, anything over 8 during pregnancy is gestational diabetes.

Has anyone else gone through so much trouble to have a baby and just not felt like it was worth it in the end? Even the thought of having my baby in my arms at the end doesn't cheer me up, i feel like it's not worth it. And i feel like if I had known before what i know now i would have lost a lot more weight before getting pregnant- before even thinking about getting pregnant. I feel so bitter about the 2 years it took me to get pregnant, and now i also have to deal with this crap. It just doesn't seem fair that it's so much trouble for me to have a baby.

How did you feel around 19/20 weeks pregnant?

I am almost 20 weeks pregnant and just wondering how all of you felt around that time or are experiencing these feelings now?
Physically I feel fine, apart from a few sharp pains here n there (have seen a dr&Midwife about this).
I am still really tired, but not like I was.
I am already feeling out of breath at times
I'm showin quite alot (people say i look like i'm about 6/7 months) Bending over and stuff is starting to become more difficult.
I'm not complaining, I just wanted to see if i am sharing the same kind of experiences as anyone else....
Did any of you actually start to feel really pregnant at this point?
I love being pregnant..... It's an AMAZING experience, i hope you are all enjoying it as much as i am!!

Thank you all for answering!

Could someone feel fetus move in 3 weeks pregnant?

Well, primarily there is no such thing as 3 weeks pregnant. While there very well might be a baby/ embryo/ products of conception (pick your terminology) at what would be considered 3 weeks pregnant, a woman doesn't even begin to think about considering the possibility that she might maybe want to see about finding out if she’s pregnant until at least day 28 of her cycle, and if she was to have a pregnancy confirmed on day 28 of her cycle, she would be considered 4 weeks pregnant at that time.I can't tell you how many women I’ve busted faking pregnancies because they don't bother to educate themselves, and that simple little thing always gives it away. I can't count them all.The gestation of a pregnancy is calculated from the first day of the woman’s last menstrual period, not the day she has sex that made the pregnancy. It's called Naegele’s Rule, and it doesn't break or bend. Even in cases of IVF, when I can tell you how pregnant I am to the minute, gestation is still calculated from 2–3 weeks prior, depending on the age of the embryo. So first and foremost, it is clinically impossible to be 3 weeks pregnant. Second, at that gestation, the baby is about the size of a comma, and is far too small to even see on an ultrasound screen. Third, the baby doesn't yet have the arms or legs necessary for movement, let alone movement than can be felt. So to answer your question, it is clinically impossible for a woman to feel a baby move at that early stage of pregnancy.

What do contractions feel like 20 weeks into a pregnancy?

Usually around this time, you will feel a tightening and hardeing. They are more uncomfortable than painful and shouldn't last terribly long. You should expect to feel a tenderness in your belly.

Can fetuses less than 20-weeks-old feel pain?

I don’t know if they can or not feel pain, or if their brain is sufficiently developed to know pain from anything else. My question would be is the fetus VIABLE at 20 weeks… meaning can it survive with out the life support provided by the mother?

Anyone else start getting really hungry around 20 weeks pregnant?

Yes, I think mine was a bit earlier, but there is a period in time when my facebook status always read "hungry". I am carrying twins and we gain the most weight in second trimester.

If your hungry, eat! You may need more right now. Eat healthy, but eat if you are hungry. Peanut butter is a good choice. Protein and fat. Stay away from very carby foods. Carbs make more hunger, protein you need LOTS of, and fat makes you feel full.

At 35 weeks I am not as hungry as I was second trimester.

Is it safe for a woman to have an abortion at 20 weeks into her pregnancy?

It is a procedure on a pregnant woman which will be as difficult as having the baby I believe. If a baby is killed at this stage it will need a burial as it is too old to be thrown out with the medical waste I was told by my hospital.Pictures: Abortion at 20 Weeks - ClinicQuotesdon’t look if you don’t want to.Here are some affects on the person who goes through it:The After Effects of AbortionNote this is for informational purposes and I have neither participated in an abortion nor needed one for medical reasons, or had one at any stage myself.I also cannot be judgmental about any heath care options a person choses.

What does a fetus's movement feel like at 20 weeks?

Popping popcorn. Or, alternatively, really whacko intestinal gas. Having been pregnant (and now knowing for certain I'm NOT) I can totally see how early fetal movement could be confused for a variety of other sensations. If you're not expecting it to be a baby, it doesn't necessarily feel like one.
