2004 Dodge Ram Heat Gauge Went Up To 3/4

1998 dodge ram temperature gauge problem?

Testing is better than guessing but you seem to like changing parts, so yeah, the temperatue sending unit can be bad, that usually near the thermostat housing. But I'm not advising you to change it.
Standard testing procedures for overheating should be followed. These procedures test each part of the cooling system. Could be as simple as a radiator cap but you'll never know without testing.
Hope you're getting my drift.

My temperature gauge is not moving in my 1994 dodge ram. Could this be the reason that it will not pass smog?

Couple of issues that could be here. One your thermostat could have failed open, and the engine will not get to normal operating temperature. You didn't state if you have heat or not. If you have no heat, then your thermostat has failed. I doubt its the temp sending unit.

2002 Dodge Ram Overheating / now won't start / run?

I'm going to try and provide as many details as I can, yet be as concise as possible.
2002 Dodge Ram 4.7 v8 96,000miles
Started overheating occasionally not all the time. If it hit the red / check gauges I would stop and cool off.
Came to a red light truck was hot but only 3/4 of the way on gauge. Not close to red zone. Truck died at red light. Allowed to cool attempted to resart did and drove home.
I started to work on it at this point. Coolant always seemed to flow so I thought thermostat. Replaced. Truck cools better, not right but better. Drive truck, never allow to hit red on temp. Truck begins to drive rough loses power during acceleration. Notice coolant flow sputtery not consistent think water pump.
Couple days later truck doesn't start in morning. Try to start will start with gas pedal to floor. really won't run, especially at idle. Notice black slime / smudge shoot out of tail pipe when trying to start.
Other points:
* No visible coolant leak but always seemed to be low .

What could be the cause of a car’s temperature gauge to fluctuate?

There are several possibilities.1) faulty teperature gauge. In this case the gauage will have to be replaced. This is relarively simple and inexpensive depinding on the make and model of the car.2) Issue with the radiator, coolant of the car. This could be caused due to insufficient coolant, leakage of coolant, damage to the radiator of the car. This will require extensive repair. In this case, it is advised to get the issue diagnosed and fixed at the earliest to avoid engine damage due to over heating.Hope this helps. :)

My heater doesn't work in idle?

I have a 2004 Infinity G 35. My heater doesn't work while idling, it will blow cool air. It's not overheating and it works fine while driving or if I rev engine. Any suggestions?

Approximately how many miles do I have left when my LOW FUEL light comes on?

The average is about 20, but it depends on the adjustment of the fuel tank float and the gage. If the unit got bumped during assembly it could make the reading be slightly off. It is not good to run a fuel injected vehicle that low on gas, it can cause damage to the vehicles fuel pump. The replacement fuel pump module assembly for your blazer costs around 350-400 bucks and about 3-4 hours to replace. I refuse to let my vehicle get below a quarter tank. The fuel flowing through the pump is what keeps it cool as well as the fuel around it. Running a fuel pump dry, is the primary reason that I have changed dozens of in tank fuel pumps over the past 20 years.
Hope this helps. Christopher

2004 dodge neon check engine light and code p0128 (coolant rationality )?

Well, check engine light is on,

Thought coolant was low, so put some more in resovoir tank.

Light is still on.

When I watch my temp. Gauge it gets high sometimes (about half up, which it would never get that high before! And it's winter!)

I wanted to check my fans, but it's cold out and they don't come on, I turn on a/c and my passenger fan. Comes on but not drivers,

Is that normal ?
How can I tell if my drivers fan is bad?

Also when looking at fans, I saw on the housing there was "fresh" looking antifreeze/coolant on it.

Is the upper hose leaking? I felt it and found no leaks or wet

It is kind of squishy with my whole hand.
Could a bad hose make the light go on?

I just want the check engine light off, and figure out why it's on and why there is coolant on my fan housing.

Please.

What causes a car to lose power while driving?

In modern cars with engine management systems, it is the system itself that reduces power if it detects a problem with the engine.  A warning light will come and and the engine will go into 'limp home' mode, where speed it usually limited to 80km/h or lower.  Any number of things can cause this, but usually it relates to loss of something important, like a coolant leak, or low oil pressure.  Sometimes it can also be a false positive due to a fault in the management system itself. All internal combustion engines require three things to work; compression, fuel and ignition.  Degradation of any one of theses will result in lower engine performance.Loss of compression can result from engine wear, common in engines with several hundred thousand kilometers on the clock.  Engine efficiency is lost because gasses can escape past the piston rings.  Mechanical failure such as a blown head gasket can cause a similar loss.Blockages or degradation of the fuel supply, such as a worn fuel pump will cause loss of power for obvious reasons.Ignition faults stem from things such as a cracked distributor head, worn spark plugs, worn ignition coil or faulty spark plug leads.  They generally result in some cylinders not igniting the fuel/air mix, thus reducing the power.Loss of lubricant or coolant will cause the engine to overheat and then seize.  In this case, loss of power is 100%.Worn bearings in the engine will usually not reduce power much, they will keep working, making more and more noise, and then fail catastrophically, causing the engine to seize. It is also possible for timing chains to slip, adjustment screws to loosen in the carburetor, exhaust manifolds to develop leaks , and other minor mechanical faults to occur that will reduce engine power.  This can happen suddenly or gradually over time.
