First thing you have to realize that true and *properly* measured D cups are not big. It's a misconception spread by the media. I see some blogs online that list Katy Perry as a 32D, sometimes 32DD when it's completely wrong (she looks closer to a 28G). So if girls look at her and think "I'm not that big!" they will never believe they are actually D cups. Secondly, cup size is relative to band size. A 36D will be two cup sizes bigger than a 32D even if they share the same letter. I'm a 30F which SOUNDS huge to people who don't know how bra sizes work, but it's only 2 cup sizes bigger than a 32D. The letter means nothing without the number. Don't worry about labels, as long as it fits and you're comfortable then what size you are shouldn't matter.

For example in a band size 34, which is sold almost everywhere, I would be a C/B cup, although the band would not fit well. If you’re wearing, say a 36A, and the cup has enough room but the band is riding up in the back a 34B, 32C, or 30D are worth trying on. An A cup is a 1 inch difference which is very small indeed. Even women who have small breasts probably aren’t an A cup. I don’t consider my breasts to be big in the slightest. I have never had any back or neck pain because of them and they are self-supporting, (meaning that the lowest part of the beast is about where the breast connects to the chest) which means sometimes I’ll just wear a sweatshirt and no bra and that works out fine. Most women over estimate their band and underestimate their cup because that what the stores sell. I ordered my 30DD bra for $25 off of amazon but some stores that carry bras in my size are Third Love (has half cup sizes!), Bare necessities, and Her room all of which have pretty bras in band sizes down to 28, and cup sizes up to at least F, although they can be expensive. Even if you think your bra fits correctly you should still measure yourself and put those measurements into a fit calculator online. Even if the answer you get seems super big, give it a try.
