3g Enabled And Working But No Data Plan

Apps are working only on WiFi and not in mobile data?

Is This Your Error? Then Only Read this fully.Turned the mobile data on and then went to play store, it's not connecting to the internet and shows an error that network not connected.Next went to youtube the same thing happened. And this mobile data not working error is repeated in all the google apps like chrome, drive, and anything that is a product of Google. If this is your error that you are encountering, then here is the 100% working fix for that frustrating error.First of all, you need to open the settings of your phone. And then you need to find Cellular networks(the name may be different in different phones) and tap on it.From there, you will see an option of APNs, click on that. Now you will see different APNs listed, from these select the one that is selected default(eg: In BSNL network, it shows BSNL PORTAL as default APN so I will click on it.There you will see some things like Name, port, proxy, like that. Change these things as shown in this short blog post.Hope It Helps :)

Android data enabled/data roaming question?

Hello, I had a similar question when I had my first android phone as well! What data enabled means is the whether or not you want to turn on 2g/3g for local use in your country. Since you do not want to be charged for data, you should switch off this option. The second one, data roaming, is whether or not you want to use 2g/3g while overseas by roaming. These charges are very very very expensive so please switch off this option!! Look at this article for example: http://ipod.about.com/u/ua/internationaliphone/iphone-roaming.htm
Another way you can switch off data is by going to the phone dialer and typing *#*#4636#*#*. It will not call anyone. By entering this number into the dialer, a settings page will immediately open after you type the last character '*'. Then click on Phone Information and scroll down to data. You should see State: DInactiveState. If you do not see that, then press the menu button, and one of the options there will be Disable data connection. Hope this helps!!

Does wi-fi use up your data plan?

When you are connected to wifi, you will not be charged for your data plan. However, you must be CONNECTED to wifi or else when you get into any apps that connect to the internet, it will start to retrieve it from your data/3g plan.

Judging from your monthly 5gb data allowance(that's very generous!), I don't think you need to worry about running out of data within a month unless you are doing some mass download on your phone or using your phone as a wifi access point for your computer... other than that, using twitter, facebook, whatsapp and some other downloads from app store wont consume your data so quickly(not to mention 1 gb/month!). If you are still uncomfortable with using too much data, tap on wifi whenever you want to do something which consume a lot of data e.g. skype.

If you are using an android phone, I will suggest you download this app from android market called Juicedefender Plus(its a patch which cost me Eur0.99). It greatly helps to control your battery life and control whether to disable/enable 3g/4g or wifi with a single tap. I am using it and it increases my phone battery for about 2 days! Alternatively, you can just go to your phone wireless settings to disable 3g/4g whenever you feel that you are using up your data.

Does wifi use up my data plan?

Please do read all of this
I believe I have a 2GB plan with tmobile that has unlimited surfing the web. I THINK. Now, I'm using an unlocked iphone 16GB 3gs on their network and I believe it's the EDGE. It's always connected to our wifi when I'm at home, which is the majority of the day. But when I type in #932# to see the data usage, it says, "You have used 9.7438MB from your unlimited plan as of 03/13/12 at 7:29PM PDT." But my mom only pays 10 dollars a month for it, we don't have unlimited. Every time I go to type in #932# that MB number is bigger even though when I use apps, check emails, youtube, surf the web, IT'S CONNECTED TO WIFI! I check the MB several times a day and it's always bigger when I see it. And it's got increasingly bigger these past few days. Then under Settings - General - Usage - Cellular Network Data: It says Sent: 32.1 MB Recieved: 390MB. I think this one means how much of the storage I've used up in my phone, but I really do not know.
I don't know which one to believe. I thought being connected to wifi didn't use up my data plan. Someone explain this to me please before I go over my data limit :( Thank you

Also, I double click the home button and (-) any apps that are paused or running as soon as I'm done with them. I also don't connect to itunes. I've never pressed the reset button either.

What is Data Roaming?

Data roaming... is when you allow you phone to work on a non- home country tower (for international travel basically)... uncheck this box if you dont plan on going on a cruise or to another country or live near the Canadian/Mexican Border......... Mine is not check since I stay in the USA and want no extra international data charges and overages (even if I did travel out of the USA)

Data Connection.... this should be set to automatic... will toggle phone automatiicaly from 3G to 2G if 3G signal is low are non-existant

Why doesn't an Internet pack work on roaming in Vodafone?

Depends which roaming you are referring to. National or International Roaming. On a National Roaming too you can use internet but yes it all depends where you are. If you are at a remote place and want your data pack to work it wont.Again there are whole lot of factors that come in picture when its not working. Like your phone settings, network, etc. You can call 199 to have it looked into. For international roaming, you will have to latch on to partner network but do note that data usage is exorbitant so wont recommend make use of it.
