91 Honda Accord Ex Overheated

1993 honda Accord Overheating problem?

Make sure to replace your thermostat. It could be bad and read wrong temperatures. In any other case, it could be a blown head gasket.

1991 Honda Accord Speed Sensor?

its on the top of the transmission on the passenger side rear of the engine compartment

you should be able to see it if you open the hood of the car and stand by your right front (passenger side) wheel. then looking across the engine you'll see a black air intake bellows (hose) about 3" in diameter. look towards that hose to where it bends at about a 70 degree angle rearward then look straight down from that bend. you should see the connector for the vehicle speed sensor.

hope that helps

How durable is a Honda Accord?

I'm a senior in college and I am currently driving a 91 Firebird with 144k on it and it's just starting to show its age. Has been pretty good to me, but I need another car to last me until I graduate and a year or so after that. I just want something with a little better gas mileage and in a little better shape. If I get a Honda, I was debating between a Civic, Accord, or Prelude.
My question is, "How long will either last basically?" I know the engines will easily go to 300k and probably more, but what about the transmission and other drivetrain parts? I only plan on spending like $4000 tops for either and I know that translates into like 120-over 200k on a car for that price. Will it be worth it? I know it will not be problem free with a lot of miles on it, but will it be tolerable enough for a couple of years? What kind of stuff should I expect to be replacing on a Honda with that kind of mileage? If I do get something with a lot of miles, I hope to find one that was maintained pretty well.
Any input would be appreciated. I usually try to stick to American cars, haha, but I do like the Accords and I know they tend to last quite awhile. Thanks

Where is the computer located on a '91 Honda Civic?

The PGM-FI (ECU), located under the carpet on the passenger floorboard, is the primary controller for the fuel system. The ECU itself consists of a dedicated microprocessor, a small amount of volatile memory, and the control program contained in read only memory (ROM). The ECU monitors the absolute manifold pressure and the engine speed to determine the basic "ON" time (amount of time the injectors are open and injecting fuel) for the fuel injectors. Before the ECU actually alters the injector "ON" time, the other data inputs (intake air temperature sensor, oxygen sensor, etc.) are used to determine the final air/fuel mixture. After the final "ON" time has been determined, the ECU then applies this to the injectors.

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the right door sill molding.
3. Remove the small cover on the right kick panel.
4. Pull the passenger's side carpet back to expose the ECU.
5. Unbolt the ECU bracket and remove the ECU wire harness.
6. Remove ECU.
7. Reverse procedure to install replacement unit.

1990 Honda Accord turns over and starts for less than a second, then dies?

I have a 1990 Honda Accord EX Manual. The car turns over and starts but then dies within a second. I replaced the cap, rotor, wires and plugs with limited success. I was actually able to get it started and it idles for 5 minutes and ran up the street for about 100 yards, then it died again and would not start. I'm thinking it's a fuel issue but do fuel pumps work "sometimes"? Any other ideas? I'm too cheap to pay a mechanic...

91 accord oil light flashing?

brough my car to a mechanic about this problem and he said looks to be leaking from the axle some seal.
never have any oil spots on the ground at home or when parked for a while. Light seems to flash when i brake and making long turns or sharp turns. does not flash when driving straight. Any idea what this problem might be?

I do know that one of the problems might be with the oil sending unit or the engine is cooking the oil if in any of these cases what would be a sure sign of these?
