93 Honda Civic Should I Go Get My Car Back

How long can a Honda civic car last?

If it runs well and doesn’t cost much in repairs, it can go a while longer. For many people, the time to retire a car and get a new (or at least newer) one is when the cost and headaches of repair outweigh the monthly payments of that new car.

93' honda civic road trip ?

I am planning on a trip from kingsport tn to huntsville alabama(about 300 miles). i own a 1993 honda civic that has a little over 200,000 miles on it. i havent had any problems with it so far but i want to kno if my car can make it that far.

Can a96 honda civic rear bumper, fit on a 93 honda civic?

being that i owned a 93 then a 99 i would say no it wont fit you could try to make it fit but it wasnt meant to be there it would look wierd, 92-95 civics are one body style, then 96-00 are another i would say just look for a 92-95 bumper or trade your 96 bumper on craigslist for a 92-95(eg) bumper.

What type of freon does a 93 Honda Civic use?

1993 vintage will be R12 refrigerant.

All cars went to R134a refrigerant in 1994.

Mommy2savann:
You are incorrect. Body styles and chassis are often similar for a 3-5 year run of a car design. Manufacturers know it is a silly thing to completely redesign a car every year. Generally headlights and tailights are designed differently every year to aid law enforcement in identifying cars used in crimes (these pieces are often left at the scene of an accident). It also helps marketing sell the same car because it looks updated for the year. But back to my point, federal law mandated that cars could only be sold in the US if refrigerant used was R134a. This had nothing to do with where a car was in its production model run. An internal refrigerant change requires a different AC system, but it does not constitute a retooling for a car's production run. Hence, the Civics from '93 to '95 may have been basically the same body and chassis, the '93's had R12 and the '94-'95's had R134a.

I have a 93 Honda Civic DX 1.5 hatchback. Does the cruise control have to be connected in order to start car?

The car was working just fine and i jumped in to go to the store and nothing happened. The lights worked but the starter would not turn or make a noise. Now I took the starter off and had it tested and it did turn out to be bad so I replaced it and the same thing. I have cleaned all contacts on the battery as well as the pos that goes to the starter. I have checked all fuses in both fuse boxes and they are all good. I have tried to trace the wires back and was going to try and connect a wire from the battery to the cylinoid to check if that wire had gone bad but didnt want to risk recking anything. Now here is another perdicament when I originally looked under the hood I noticed that the top throttle tension cable had been severed this cable goes to a cyndrical plastic part to the right of the engin and I beleive that this is the cruise control. I dont use cruise control anyway but would this cause the starter not to engage the engine if it wasnt hooked up?

To start my '93 Civic Del Sol, I must go from the 1st or 2nd position all the way forward really fast. What's hooked up wrong?

Automatic transmission? Your Neutral Safety Switch (also called a PRNDL switch, which I pronouce "Prindle") needs adjusting or replacement. It will probably be located on the transmission where the shift linkage attaches or possibly exactly opposite (other side of the transmission case) the shift linkage attachment point. It's cued by the linkage position and enables the starter. Chances are excellent that you'll need to get that car up onto a lift or at least a pair of ramps (with wheel chocks on both rear wheels) to get at your NSS.Never get under a car that's held in the air only by a jack. Never get under a car that has less than 100% solid support. Fail and you die.You should also be able to start that car in (N)eutral, not only in (P)ark.

Can I Bleed the brakes on my Honda Civic ESI 93 ABS disc brakes front and back with no special tools?

THe hayes manual mentions that I would require a dealer to bleed the brakes as you require special tools to bleed with the ABS unit.

recently i had new front brake lines put in as it failed MOT. The mechanic had no problems bleeding them as far as i know So just wondered if anybody could shed some light on this issue...

My brakes arent particularly weak ... if i punch it it does lock the front wheels (abs is disabled as the one sensor is failing) but it does feel like it is spungy because it becomes kinda hard to press but then if u press harder with my foot it does go a little further about inch or so and does not come to brick wall stop instanlty when u press it hard.

i like to do things myself as i dont trust these mechanics working towards a paycheck and not a good job.
