Whats that word for the stick that roosters stand on

What is the word for someone who stands up for what they know is right?

You have to qualify this, you could say that an active racist carrying out hateful deeds is not complacent and is standing up for what they " know is right" for them but that is subjective, not objective.
Morality has to be more than a concept, even so moralist would be wrong as a definition
and moral crusader is a no no with it's connotations of oppression in the past.
Idealist is another but somehow it does not give the action needed as part of the definition you need.
Integrity is getting there but also needs another word to denote action.
This is an interesting one, a new word (just one ) is needed, there is a competition going at the moment to invent a new word, good luck

What's that word for the stick that roosters stand on?

As one answer has already said, it is called a roosting bar. In one article on building a chicken coop, the bar is made with 2×2 lumber along the back wall over a chicken wire floor, situated six feet off the coop floor and allowing at least 8 inches in length per bird on the roosting bar.

While each chicken will require a nest for their egg laying, the nests should be placed in a different area of the coop and not used as a roost.

This article goes on to say the roosts should be positioned higher than the nests because chickens are descended from tree-dwelling jungle fowl and will always seek out the highest point to sleep. Add in the high roosting bar because the nests will quickly become soiled if the chickens use them for roosting.

In regards to drum sticks what do the letters and numbers stand for???

The answer is confusing and inconsistent, but very generally the number is the size of the stick, the letter is what it should be used for.

The numerical portion signifies the circumference of the stick. In general, the lower the number the larger circumference, and the greater the number the smaller the circumference. So, a 7A stick is smaller in circumference than a 5A which in turn is narrower than the 2B.

The exception is the 3S, which is larger in circumference than a 2B despite its number (for historical reasons).

What about the letters?

The letter suffix: "S," "B," and "A" originally indicated the recommended application.

"S" model sticks were designed for Street applications such as drum corps and marching band. The largest diameter sticks of their day, their massive size naturally enhanced volume and sound projection demanded for these styles.

"B" model sticks were intended for Band applications such as brass bands and symphonic concert bands. Smaller in circumference than the "S" models, they were easier to control and thus especially popular with beginning drummers. To this day the 2B is recommended by teachers practically everywhere as ideal starter sticks.

"A" stands for Orchestra. "A" model sticks were designed for big band or dance type orchestras. They're smaller in circumference than "B" series sticks and lend themselves well for softer type playing.

I guess by now you're wondering if "S" stands for Street and "B" stands for Band, why does "A" stand for Orchestra?

What are the differences between a chicken, a hen, and a rooster?

Say you've been turned into a chicken.

I know, you're probably not thrilled. I’m not either. But bear with me.

Say everyone on Quora has undergone this transformation. We’re no longer humans, we’re chickens. Both are the common name for a species.

Look! There we are!

Let's be more specific. The men of Quora: not only are you now a member of the chicken species, you are roosters, aka adult males.

Is it Matthew Bates? Habib Fanny? Sean Kernan? He can't type as a chicken, so I guess we'll never know.

Ladies! If you've hit puberty and are old enough to have kids, you are now a hen.

Who is this majestic female? Dushka Zapata? Brooke Schwartz? Or maybe it's just me. :P

The boys and girls who have not passed the Point of No Return (aka puberty) are cockerels and pullets respectively.

Thirteen-year-old Quorans, this is you my friends. Left = pullet, right = cockerel.

In case this answer wasn't clear enough:

Chicken is the species name, equivalent to our “human.”
Rooster is an adult male, equivalent to “man.”
Hen is an adult female, equivalent to “woman.”
Cockerel is a juvenile male, equivalent to “boy/young man.”
Pullet is a juvenile female, equivalent to “girl/young woman.”

All roosters, hens, cockerels, and pullets are chickens. They are subcategories of age and gender, but all the same species.

Meanwhile, this is what a kindergarten class turned into chickens would look like:

What does the Portuguese Rooster symbolize?

Fish: Diligent Self-discipline. Since a fish does not close its eyes when it sleeps or even when it dies, an ascetic devotee in Buddhism was expected to reach Nirvana with continuous effort like fish. A wood block with the shape of a fish is also made with this yearning and symbolism. Also the image of two golden fish head to head has been variously interpreted. Traditionally symbols of fertility, in Buddhism the fish have been said to signify fearlessness and happiness as they swim freely through the oceans without drowning. The sea in Buddhism is associated with the world of suffering, the cycle of samsara. The image of the golden fish is one of the eight auspicious symbols. Several Buddhist deities are associated with members of the cat family: Dakini Pukkasi holds a lion, Vaishravana rides a lion, Dombi Heruka and Dorje Drollo ride a tiger. Among the animals held by great Hevajra is a mysterious one that appears to be feline. Cats can see well at night. People believed that if a cat was around, evil spirits could not play bad tricks on people. When a picture of a cat included a butterfly, it symbolized longevity. Snake : Naga the snake king. Vestige of pre-Buddhist fertility rituals and protector of the Buddha and the Dhamma. Sorry that's all I know right off the bat. --Buddhist.

What is another way of saying "standing up for yourself"?

In software terms he is a link, a pointer to Christ. He is not important for his own self, but only because he points to Christ. In the same way the Church points to Christ. She is not important for any other reason than she is the servant of Christ on earth. Curiously, sisters and brothers, religious men and women, are themselves. They are lay people and are examples of how we will all be in the Kingdom of God. We are asked to be Christ to others, to evangelize. We do not hesitate or refuse because we are sinful. When a priest is being sinful he is not acting as he should, just as if I am sinful I am not as I should be. That he points to Christ is his role. As Catholics, we have never bought into the complete depravity of humanity and believe that we can help each other to reach union with God. We have never been an individualistic religion relying on ourselves only and suspiciously avoiding all others. We do learn to discern when a priest is acting properly in his role and when he is extending, though. It would be wrong to think a priest somehow divine, he is not, he is a man concecrated to the service of God. Jesus told the Apostles to teach all that he has taught them. Our Bishops today have that duty. They are assisted by deacons and priests. These are the orders of Holy Orders, deacon, priest, and bishop. That a man is a cardinal or a pope is not an "order". The view that any man is too corrupt to lead us and guide us is rejected by Catholics. We help each other--we are not lone wolves. We are humans, living in community, all flawed; we do our best and appreciate our leaders both clergy and lay. The directions of my Bishop are to be taken seriously; if they sound wrong, I am expected to try to understand why that is and whether my consience is properly formed. I do not do what my conscience says is wrong no matter who tells me; disagreeing with my Bishop does indicate that something is wrong though. The meaning of the ritual of the Mass, our liturgical prayer, is mischaracterized when it is said that it is a re-enactment, a repeat crucifixion and death of Jesus. Priesthood is a characteristic of all Christians, we all show Christ to each other. That those of the Holy Orders do so in a special way does not mean that they are divine or that they are making a ritual enactment of killing the human Christ. Not guilty.

What is my Chinese Zodiac?

The Chinese calendar is a partial solar/lunar calendar hence the start of the year changes with respect to our year. They don't just have the twelve animals but they have four sets of twelve animals hence there is the concept of the wood snake versus the water snake. The cycle of years by animals is 60 years, within a given year, each month is represented by an animal and each day is also represented by an animal , they also divide the day into two hour segments with each segment represented by an animal, each segment is referred to as an hour even though it's two hours long. Hence you can be born in the year of the fire rooster, the month of the dog, the day of the horse at the hour of the pig. Astrologists differ as to which cycle have the greatest influence on your fortunes with many believing that it's the day that most affects the individual.
