A Job Posted For One Day Are They Considering Me

Should I ask if they are still considering me for the job?

you have got nothing to loose in getting in touch again, may I suggest you call. Most business people get thousands of emails a day. A call is much more personal. My guess is that either you have not been successful (that's life, the secret to getting a job is to just keep applying). you need to be sending out ten cv's a day. or that the application has a time frame ie they may need to check references. Generally they will not tell you you have been unsuccessful until they have confirmed the position with a candidate.
Chin up, don;t take it personal and eventually you will get the job you deserve.

Considering the nicotine patch to quit smoking?? 22 year old female?

if you are down to one a day your addiction is mental and not physical. if you go on the patch or chew the gum steady you will "become" addicted to that source of nicotine.

what I am saying may sound crazy to you because I am sure you feel addicted. You probably are but mentally.

Sadly, I have been addicted to many things in my 50-odd years. Cigarettes was one of those until a few years ago. I quit and like you I was down to one or two cigs a day. I could not get myself to stop those last 1-2 cigarettes for anything. Finally, my wife offered me something to stop those last 1-2 and I took her up on it. I threw my cigs away that night and never smoked another. The last 1-2 was all in my head. Hey, the head is worse than the body if you ask me.

People withdrawal physically from hard drugs and will be completely clean and all they can think about is getting high. Same deal with cigarettes.

I can't tell you how to get them out of your head because we are all different. One thing is don't go out drinking and expect not to smoke at first for sure. You get a few drinks in you and you will bum a cig and be right back.

If you go on the patch or gum take my word you will be buying that from here on out. If your aim is not to smoke but still get nicotine there are other ways and cheaper. My advice is worthless I know but I surely wish I would have stopped smoking at 22. You don't think so at 22 but it is 100 times easier to quit at 22 than years later.

bottom-line is if you "really" want to quit just stop buying them and grit your teeth. The part that will eat you up can't be cured without getting more addicted to something else.

It's been three years since I held a cig and right now I could smoke one if I allowed myself haha. Seriously. My wife smoked between age 21 and 24. Three years she smoked light cigs and not many. At 53 she still says she wants one every now and then.

Good luck

When a job status says "submitted for requisition" & the posting was removed does that mean I got the job?

I applied for a position and they called me to ask if I was still interested I said yes and she said she would be sending me an e-mail "soon" that was 2 days ago and now I look and the listing is off the site and my status says "submitted for requisition" am I the only one submitted or is it normal for them to submit several applicants?

Do I have to give my boss 2 months notice if I find a new job?

Boss probably got worried that I am considering leaving because we had a few (good) employees resign last summer (one in July, one in Aug, and one in Sept). I know at-will means they can fire me and I can leave at anytime, but I always managed to give 2 weeks for past jobs, with no complaints from any old bosses. One day out of the blue he requested that I give him 2 months of notice if I accept another job. In my field, new employers typically want you to start as soon as possible so I doubt any new job would wait 2 months for me.

My boss probably thought that he could lock me in my current job if I actually complied and gave him 2 months, but can he do anything if I do not? I did not sign any agreement about giving such a long period of notice, and even my HR department thinks 2 months is ridiculous.

Can someone tell me something about this job: Marketing officer for MATRADE?

My guess is that you will be working with companies seeking to relocate or expand in Malaysia. If they are considering you for a position I assume that you have had at least one interview. I am surprised that the company didn't go over those questions with you during the interview. They usually don't cover the salary until they make a job offer but most other questions are usually covered during the interview.

Several jobs I've applied to I see after I apply that the position is posted again. I am definitely a qualified candidate but I'm not getting interviews. Does this mean the business is still looking and not considering me?

That is very possibly the case. There are a number of reasons they overlooked your resume, none of which have to do with your qualifications. Some of them are:They see something on your resume that they consider a red flag.Significant gap in employment.Minor error. Spelling, grammar, etc.Work with a certain company they don’t approve of.Your resume does not show case what they are looking for. Either:Your resume does not effectively communicate what you think it does. They are looking for something different than what they advertised. This happens all the time. They didn’t see your resume due to laziness.Maybe you have a funny sounding name. People like to think they are above silly discriminatory practices, but ultimately people still judge based on shitty criteria. They are looking for someone older or younger, and your resume doesn’t match the age they want.I know a guy who removed twenty years of experience from his resume. Once he did that, calls started flowing in from recruiters. The hiring manager has weird, idiosyncratic, possibly discriminatory specifications for who they want, but they can’t legally put it on a job post. You don’t have something seemingly minor, but it is the most important factor to them. This kind of goes with 2b.So don’t judge yourself too harshly. There are a million other reasons they don’t call you that have little or nothing to do with your actual qualifications.Good luck!
