A Major Motivation Struggle

I am struggling with severe depression and have lost all motivation. No one around me knows. What should I do?

Hi,I can’t even begin to imagine what you must be going through. It must have taken a lot of courage to seek help. Some of the things you can do to help yourself are -Seek support: If you have friends, or family who you think will understand your condition and will be able to help you out - seek help from them. Just the act of opening up to someone is a big step. If you are unable to find anyone in your circle who can help, you can seek professionals for the same. Psychologists and psychiatrists do very different work - a psychologist will talk to you about your concerns and the two of you will collaborate to bring about change whereas a psychiatrist may offer you medication for your condition. Read up on both kinds of help to decide which one would be best for you in the moment.Watch your sleep-hygiene cycle: In a state of depression, your self-care might go for a toss leading to sleepless nights or making it impossible to stay up. Similarly, you may find it difficult to take care of your hygiene - like brushing or taking a bath or changing clothes. Though it would be difficult, but getting these things in order would effect your mood for the better and would give you a greater feeling of control.Sleep HygieneGo for a walk for at least 30 minutes a day: Again, might be difficult to implement but physical activity as minimal as brisk walking for thirty minutes a day would make you feel better both physically and mentally.Eat better: Be mindful of what you’re eating - include lots of cereals, green vegetables, and fruits to your diet. Along with this, have lots of water. You may also find some of these articles helpful -https://feminisminindia.com/2016...My 6 Shields Against Anxiety and Depression – Mind Piper – MediumLastly, I work with a mental health organization called Mind Piper which is in Delhi. Why do I struggle with motivation to write?

I struggle with motivation to write as well. I find that the reason for this is that:I don’t have an idea or an idea that I think is goodI am in school, so I don’t have a lot of time to write and when I do have time I’d rather just relax

In the great gatsby, what is daisy's major motivation in life?

The closest the novel comes to answering this question is in three paragraphs in Chapter VIII:

For Daisy was young and her artificial world was redolent of orchids and pleasant, cheerful snobbery and orchestras which set the rhythm of the year, summing up the sadness and suggestiveness of life in new tunes. All night the saxophones wailed the hopeless comment of the Beale Street Blues, while a hundred pairs of golden and silver slippers shuffled the shining dust. At the gray tea hour there were always rooms that throbbed incessantly with this low, sweet fever, while fresh faces drifted here and there like rose petals blown by the sad horns around the floor.

Through this twilight universe Daisy began to move again with the season; suddenly she was again keeping half a dozen dates a day with half a dozen men, and drowsing asleep at dawn with the beads and chiffon of an evening dress tangled among dying orchids on the floor beside her bed. And all the time something within her was crying for a decision. She wanted her life shaped now, immediately—and the decision must be made by some force—of love, of money, of unquestionable practicality—that was close at hand.

That force took shape in the middle of spring with the arrival of Tom Buchanan. There was a wholesome bulkiness about his person and his position, and Daisy was flattered. Doubtless there was a certain struggle and a certain relief. The letter reached Gatsby while he was still at Oxford.

From these paragraphs, the reader sees that Daisy is a drifter. She waits restlessly for others to define her. When Gatsby was her lover, before he left for the war, he was the definer. In his absence she waits for someone else to define her; Tom comes to do that.

Unlike Gatsby, who has a distinct motivation in his love for Daisy, and unlike Nick, who has modest ambitions for himself, Daisy is rootless, like the people who wander into his parties. That means that she never seizes life but instead is whimsical, charming, and unconsciously insincere. It makes her essentially empty.

Life Struggles?

I am speaking to some middle school kids as a school project about improving thier overall lives. it is a group project and we are talking about various topics including academics, nutrution, and drugs. I am talking about life struggles and am really at a loss of what to say.

i was thinking about saying something along the lines of how they shouldnt get down on themselves when things dont go their way, and that they should keep the mentality that what doesnt "kill you makes you stronger"

do you guys have anything else that you think i could add in cause i need more to say than what i have thought of

What is the best motivational movie ever?

I would say “Wonder”. Its a 2017 Hollywood drama movie. Why?Although there are many motivational movies in Hollywood, major of the motivational movies mostly focuses on the hardship and struggle of an individual. Also most of the motivational movies are based on famous or gifted people. But not every struggling person is famous or gifted. The movie revolves around a kid named Auggie with facial deformity who has just joined middle school. The story focuses on how he faces problems like making friends, reacting to people staring at him and dealing with bullies. The movie although focuses more on Auggie but an appropriate amount of attention has been given to the struggle of other characters like his sister, his friend, his parents and his sister’s friend as well.I like this movie because it focuses on struggle of common people, how important simple things are and the fact that nobody is completely bad, everybody has some good qualities in them. It gives message on importance of kindness, friendship and acceptance. It also depicts the importance of family.A line from this movie that I like very much is this.“ Be kind, for everyone is fighting a hard battle. And if you really wanna see what people are , all you have to do is …. LOOK.”

How does the Indian independence struggle still remain as a major motivation for the majority of the Indians?

1. Because most of our grandfathers either participated in any of the freedom movements in any level and fed us those stories or didn't participate but because of guiltiness, they fed us with some imaginary stories. Either way we grown with a personal feel of freedom struggle. 2. Because our independence blooms inland using our own methods of self sacrificing, non violence, compromises, diplomatic discussions. We didn't become prey for outsiders by taking their leadership. 3. Because for generations, from Kanyakumari to Himalayas we were culturally united. This independence gives an extra political unity which doesn't disturb our cultural unity.4. Because by comparing our unethical and unstable neighbors as well as most of other counties, we feel what our country gives to us because of the independence and the Constitution. 5. Because as a diversified land in all means yet united, we know our country is one of the rarest phenomena happening in history. We are proud for that and will keep in that way.

I'm struggling with college life...?

At first I was eager about college, and I worked hard and attended my class, but the college where I am is a town away and it's been difficult making friends. I have made friends, and I care for them a lot, but I feel like an outcast and I'm missing my friends from my old school as i don't see them that much anymore and feel cut off, plus I can't go to the town over to see my new friends all the time because of travel costs and the weather.
Also, I've failed two mock exams in one of my classes and although I'm enjoying some classes, I can't find the motivation to do the work and end up doing it last minute so it's not the best. I feel like I'm on a fast train heading nowhere, but I don't want to disappoint my parents and drop out, even though I am not enjoying it all and feel very depressed.
See, I've generally gotten good grades which is why everyone expected me to go to college and do A-levels, but I just have this gut feeling that it isn't for me. I'd rather find a job and see where the world takes me, but I just know my parents and family will be upset. They won't believe that I can accomplish anything without going to college.
How can I talk about this with them, and how the hell can I phrase it without sounding like a lazy over dramatic teen, because that is what they will think. I'm embarrassed about the whole thing but it is really getting me down. I have been saying college is good and I'm doing well, but it is too much now and I need to talk to them. Please help me find a way to express it to them so they will take me seriously.
