A Moist Rear Main Seal

How can I stop a rear oil seal leak without having to have it replaced. I was told to put brake fluid in it.?

Engine rear main oil seals have very little if any oil pressure to them and they are high up in the crank case. And have a drain hole between the rear main bearing and the seal letting oil drain back into the crankcase. So if it's an excessive oil leak my experience is that you either have main bearing wear or excessive pressure in the crank case. Check the engine pcv system and crank case vent too. If all is good replace the seal but don't put brake fluid in it. And don't ask the dealer. they will laugh you right out of the shop. Also be sure that's where the oil is coming from. I have seen many times where an engine had an upper engine oil leak and running down the inside of the bell housing making it appear that the rear main was leaking.

What are common causes of water leaking from under a car?

That depends on the quantity of water. It can only come from three places. The cooling system, or the windscreen washer system, or the exhaust.I'm pretty sure you can ignore the washer system. The exhaust will push out a small quantity of water as a natural result of the combustion of the fuel. It is obvious and will be evident as a small wet patch under the tail pipeI'm pretty sure you can ignore that too.If there is more than a very small puddle you probably have a coolant leak.Although why you should find the leak under your car at whatever moment  you found it is a bit of a mystery. Unless it started just after you parked, purely by coincidence. If you have over heated the motor it will cause the water in the cooling system to steam. This will cause a small puddle. The fact that it has over heated is cause for investigation. The other reason might be that there was too much water in the system and it overflowed as a result.Water expands as it gets hotter. There is often a header tank that is designed to accommodate the extra volume of hot water. By filling the header tank over it's maximum while the car is cool, you over fill it. When the car reaches operating temperature the water will overflow through the overflow hose.

How much would it cost to have a mechanic re-seal a car door from leaks?

I have no idea what these people are talking about.

First of all, if it's INSIDE the door, it's coming from 2 places. Up top where your window seal meets the window.
Or from a hole/rust spot somewhere on the edge or side of your door.

Either way, it's likely a specialty part that will come from a dealership.
And water is going to get inside of the door no matter what. It's made to go in, and drain out of the door. The speaker should have plastic around it to help protect the metals, and keep the surround from rotting/being weathered.

Overall behind the door panel should be an entire layer of plastic too sealing all the holes shut that are in the door framing. If your doors were ever replaced, repaired, or window/lock regulators tampered with, they likely could have ripped out all your plastics, making your speaker exposed. I'd personally just find a way to protect it myself.
Because... usually those plastics are VERY glued in place over the years. So if he tries to stay cheap, and pulls it off a door in a salvage yard, it's going to be hard not to rip it every time.
A stealership could charge you up to 40$ or more for it. No joke.

Oil leak on a 1996 Honda Accord. Help Please?

You could have a bad rear main seal or bearing. You didn't say how many miles it's got but, I'll assume that it's a lot because it's a 96. I say this because; you're saying that the leak is down around the transmission and the transmission inspection plate (underneath the car), where oil accumulates when the seal/bearing gives out. When an engine gets older or has alot of miles, It's going to have leaks in the front or rear mains. Every engine that lasts long enough will have this problem, eventually.
Unfortunately; if this is the problem, it's going to cost a lot to fix it (A few hundred dollars).
In the meantime, keep a sharp eye on your oil level and don't let it get too low cause you will be taking the bus to work if the engine runs out of oil and you drive it around like that anyway.
