A Plasma Lcd Or Led Tv Which One Is Worth It

What TV should I buy- LED or PLASMA?

I am thinking of buying a big TV. I presently own a 26 inch LG LCD TV and I am feeling that its too small. So I am thinking of buying a 42 inch or a 50 inch plasma TV. I have heard that plasma TVs may give some problems. Is it true? On the other hand, I don't want to spend so much in a LED TV. So should I buy a 50 inch plasma TV or a 40 inch LED TV. Please help!

LCD, LED or Plasma-TV?

The final decision as to what type of flat panel television to purchase (LCD, LED or Plasma) is really up to you here are pros & cons of each for your decision

Pros of Plasma
- Better contrast ratio
- better ability to render deep blacks, more color depth,
- better motion tracking (response time)
- more availability in very large screen sizes.

Cons of Plasma
- more susceptible to burn-in (although this is not as much of a factor now, due to technology improvements in the past few years)
- more heat generation (as well as more power consumption)
- screen glare in brightly lit rooms
- heavier weight, and more delicate to ship.
Good brand that I would recommend for Plasma is Panasonic or Samsung

Pros of LCD
- LCD television advantages include no burn-in susceptibility
- cooler running
- less screen glare, more functional at high altitudes
- longer display life (although improvements are being made in Plasma screen life)
- looks better in brightly lit rooms
- less power consumption than Plasma.
Cons of LCD
- Lower contrast ratio
- not as good rendering deep blacks
- not as good at tracking motion (although this is improving, especially with the implementation of 120Hz refresh rates (and some now offer 240Hz) on higher-end models).
Good brand for LCD that I would recommend is Samsung or Sony

LED-backlit LCD television or LED TV is an LCD TV that uses LED backlighting rather than fluorescent lights used in traditional LCD televisions
Pros & Cons of LED is almost same as LCD but LED come with better contrast ratio, better picture quality , super slim and 40% less power consumption but higher price

Which one should I buy: a plasma TV, an LCD TV or an LED TV? Why?

First, there’s really no difference between an “LED TV” and an “LCD TV” - “LED TV” is a term that was dreamed up by someone's marketing department to distinguish an LCD product with an LED backlight, but basically all TVs use LED-lit panels these days. So the choice is between LCD and plasma - if you can even find a plasma TV any more. The technology is on the edge of being obsolete, and manufacturers have pretty much abandoned it. Plasma displays are heavy, not capable of achieving high resolution (in the proper sense of pixels per inch), and in general have little if any performance advantage remaining vs. LCDs.True LED TVs are coming, in the form of OLEDs and possibly even inorganic LED screens, but neither is a significant part of the market at present.

Difference between plasma, lcd & led tv's?

when it comes to picture quality, and energy efficient TV's, can someone differentiate among the 3 types i have mentioned.

i want to buy for a 42" TV please recommend the best one. thanks...

Whats better? Plasma TV, LCD TV, or LED TV?

OLED

Is buying a plasma TV worth it now?

Nobody makes plasma any more and no, you should not buy a second-hand plasma.Even though I love my (rather old) plasma TV, technology moves on. Buy a TV with dynamic LED back-lighting (back-lit is better than edge-lit, but harder to find). It is hard to do wrong with a Sony, but also look at the new Vizio with Dolby Vision for high dynamic range (full disclosure, I work for Dolby).

What is the difference between LED, LCD and plasma TVs?

HDTV (format): What is the difference between OLED and LED TV's? LCD is Liquid Crystal Display - essentially each pixel is a liquid crystal that can be turned on or off.  Behind this array of crystals is a backlight so the picture you see happens because different colored crystals (for each pixel are turned on or off)  (e.g. white light going through a red/green/blue (RGB) to produce a particular color).  It's possible to improve LCD by using LED backlight allowing you to turn on backlight by pixel.OLED - See above reference but this is very similar to LCD except that each liquid crystal can be replaced with an LED (Light Emitting Diode).  In some cases, this has the added benefit of eliminating the backlight which can be better for contrast (blacks appear blacker since the pixels don't have a backlight behind them that's constantly on).  Plasma - Similar idea, but each pixel made up of essentially 3 rgb colored fluorescent lights (phosphors).  Advantages are that these are very vibrant colors and react quickly.  Disadvantage is due to size and overall brightness (e.g. being able to view in sunlight).
