A Truth Vs. An Opinion.

How can you distinguish the difference from truth and opinion?

Two pictures can answer this question I think. 1st one:And the 2nd:^^-^^ OPINION ^^-^^An OPINION can't be proven as that it is true or false. Because everyone have their own viewpoints and opinions based on their mindset. And you can't say them that your opinion is only correct. You should never disrespect others opinions.Now.. coming to “*” TRUTH “*”A TRUTH can be proven. Because no one can hide the truth. Even they did, time reveals everything.~ Truth will always be truth, regardless of lack of understanding, disbelief or ignorance.~ Just because if someone OPINION is strong, a TRUTH can’t be changed.~ But TRUTH has the power to change anyone's OPINION.A TRUTH is always a TRUTH.With ❤️ Bhavya ✍️

What is the difference between truth, fact, opinion, and belief?

All the 4 of them are reliant on the person who is speaking the truth , stating a fact, expressing an opinion or sharing their belief, because not everybody thinks the same way, from the same vantage point or perspective. And my answer too is what I believe to be true…TRUTH - something that is accepted by a majority in society. However it is important to note that it is mostly dependent on who is speaking it, because what you say might be what you believe to be true, and at the same time that doesn't make what somebody else believes to be a lie. Just like what you believe, there are many versions of truth, and this depends upon the exposure and belief system of the individual in question. I sometimes feel that there is no ultimate truth but that rather pseudo-truths or partial truths exist.FACT - it is an established or well proved statement or piece of information. I don't think many can argue with this, since this is to be accepted uniformly across societies to give a fact any credence. It is important to note that facts are generally backed by logic, scientific proof or axioms and other facts but not by hearsay, and thus people tend to believe them to be true.OPINION - this is nothing but one's perspective or judgement on any particular issue. One's opinion is vastly effected by their experience, wisdom, knowledge and of course their beliefs too, and thus it is highly likely that any two given people in a room will have different opinions on a common topic, or they at least use different ways to come to their conclusions.BELIEF - this is something that an individual accepts to be true. One's belief is generally shaped by the community they live in, their religion, their culture, their unique experiences in life and their perspectives on the happenings of the world as they grow, be it mentally, physically or in status in society.

What is the difference between knowledge, truth, and opinion?

The oldest and widest held theory of knowledge is credited to Plato. See Plato on Knowledge in the Theaetetus. The theory is called the tripartite theory of knowledge, or the JTB account for short. Knowledge is defined as justified true belief. An opinion and belief are quite arguably interchangeable. A belief is merely a psychological attitude toward some proposition. You can understand a proposition as being like a statement (or thought) which can be evaluated, usually as true or false. So a belief can quite sensibly be considered a cognitive disposition to evaluating evaluable statements (or thought). There are a number of different theories of truth. See Truth (Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy). The two main ones are the correspondence of a belief to some external state (a fact about the world) and coherence (internal consistency among a set of beliefs). More broadly speaking than “truth”, and without committing to a particular theory, one might consider it as a special sort of evaluation, the details of which might be provided by the semantic sense of the usage. So if a belief is a disposition to evaluate something evaluable, truth is one sort of evaluation.Knowledge requires true belief. But that’s not enough because we can make lucky guesses just as easily as unlucky ones. We also want some sort of reliable method to judge the evaluation of beliefs. And we hope that that method will typically render true beliefs. That methodological component is the justification condition for knowledge. In logic or math, you might provide proofs as your argument. In science, you might apply standard empirical methods, along with your inferences. The exact definition of justification has arguably been one of the central debates in philosophy. For a much more in depth overview of the philosophical topics in philosophy of knowledge, see The Analysis of Knowledge. Some of it gets a little difficult to understand. So if you have further questions, that’s what Quora is for!

Truth seeking vs. persuasion in an argument?

If you're SEEKING truth then you have to have an open mind, and accept the facts.
If you're using persuasion, then emotions, opinions based on experience come into play and you're less open minded, and stick to your opinion and try to change the opinion of the other person. Seeking truth can be scary because you have to let go of past experience and opinions if they are not facts.

Loyalty vs. Truth?

If you were an employee working for a company that does animal testing on products, but the company's brochures say they don't, would that create the ethical dilemma of loyalty vs. truth? - I'm confused on if that would also be considered Whistleblowing. (Please help me justify my ethical thinking for my paper....I need opinions!)

Facebook vs reality. Whats your opinion?

When we say Facebook, more or less we’re referring to Social Media’s in general. Social Media sites, Social Networks or Social Gaming or Hosting sites that may Relate to Internet/Technology. Thus, Facebook are more likely representing them all as a host.Facebook are virtual. You can communicate, share opinion, reviews, contact anyone, exchange knowledge and or communicate with your potential customers and followers. Let’s say you have a facebook account. Your Account is your Virtual Self which allows you to interact with others by the means of facebook social networking services. You are more likely to Communicate without a ‘face-to-face’ act. Hence, facebook relates to reality but the real point here is news or data that are gathered from facebook may be tampered or faked.but, In reality you are more likely to rely on yourself . Well the vast majority just normally live their lives guided by how they feel about specific things. They likewise use rationale when required yet essentially in the motivation behind feeling better and living in a way they discover acceptable to themselves. Carrying on with a real existence in a target the truth is the point at which you let go of the sentiments.

What is difference between opinion and views?

When a person is writing, reading or speaking purposely with detail study on any subject then we call it is opinionWhen a person is speaking instantly without thinking or studying then it is views. In today’s period no one is taking in to consideration for opinion but everyone is thinking about people’s views . As views are getting from lots of people but opinion is getting from important person . I think in marketing area people’s views are more important.Today’s life is running on trend , this trend means view of people.

What is the difference, if any, between belief and opinion?

A “belief” is a subjective commitment to the truth of a proposition. It can be based upon anything — facts, evidence, reasoning, faith, or anything else. However, people usually opt to use the word “belief” to indicate specifically that the commitment is not based on sufficient reason or evidence to justify claiming to have knowledge. The term “opinion” is used several different ways.Sometimes it’s used to indicate a statement made as if it was universal fact where the person is not actually claiming a universal fact. For example, if I say, “Vanilla is the best ice cream flavor”, you might respond that that’s just my opinion. What you mean is that I’m really just claiming that I liked vanilla, but using the same words we would use to report an objective fact like “vanilla is the best selling ice cream flavor. It is also used to describe factual claims that one is not as confident about or cannot justify sufficiently. For example, if someone claimed that Abraham Lincoln believed in legal equality for all men despite not explicitly saying so for political reasons, you might say that was just their opinion. But you don’t mean that they’re really making a different objective claim. What you mean is that their conclusion is not based on sufficient reason and evidence to justify the considering the conclusion to be known to be true. They’re definitely claiming something is a universal fact, they’re just doing it without the justification normally required to make such a claim. So something that is a “matter of opinion” could be something that is just not a universal fact claim. Which ice cream flavor tastes best is a matter of opinion in this sense. But also can be a case where we just don’t have enough evidence to know what universal fact we should believe. Lincoln’s true feelings about racial equality is a matter of opinion.
