A Typical Nyc Tourist Question

What questions will be asked in the port of entry for a B2 visa holder (tourist visa)? What documents are required?

Hi,Good question.I can only share my experience and what I’ve heard from my friends. It appears that officers randomly choose questions and don’t stick to a regular pattern or format. I guess they usually make up questions based on who you are or what information they have about you and use it to verify. Here goes. What’s your purpose of visit? How long is your stay? What is your itinerary like?Details of your friends/family in US.Apart from this, may be some odd ones too, like what movie you like etc. Depends on the officer. The officer who interviewed me kept making the “Meeow” sound at the end of every sentence. I got the “Super Troopers” movie reference luckily and we had a good laugh about it. But not everyone has such good memories. I know someone who was grilled for more than 15 minutes. That was probably because he appeared nervous and forgot some details he was supposed to (like address where he was living).Be cool, know what you have to.As for documents, your usual stuff like the visa itself (on your passport), some itinerary details if you have it like ticket booking info, hotel booking etc (even on mobile) should be enough. All the best.References:What are Most Frequently Asked B1/B2 US visa interview QuestionsTop H1B, B1/B2 Visa Interview Questions at Indian Consulates

How many feet long is a typical New York City block?

Since the spacing of streets in grid plans varies so widely among cities, or even within cities, it is impossible to generalize about the size of a city block. However, as reference points, the standard block in Manhattan is about 264 feet by 900 feet (about 80 meters by 271 meters), or slightly over five acres (two hectares); and in some U.S. cities standard blocks are as wide as 1/8 mile (660 feet or approximately 200 meters), or 10 acres (about 4 hectares) if square.

What's the typical life/day of a New Yorker ?

Hello everyone =)
I'm a French girl who's fond of USA, namely NYC.
So, I'd like to know how is a typical day for someone who lives over there.

Tell me everything you can about your life style, & about your wonderful city!
Thx you so much, have a good day ^^

Fouriners: If you were to visit the U.S. what states or places would you most like to go?

Ok so I'd have to hit New York cuz my cousins there and briefly experience the typical new York tourist attractions. Then I head to LA to visit is it Disney land or world, I've been told its better than Florida? My best friend just moved to San Francisco yesterday :( so of travel up to her and I'd love to do route 66, but from Cali to Texas and all the real southern states, Tennessee (elvis), Georgia I love the accent . I'm hoping to do all this in the next 2 years when some money comes through. Oh gee I left out vagus and Hawaii, back to the drawing board.

How would you describe a New Yorker's attitude or mentality?

Friendly and nice. A lot of people think were mean and rude and whatever but were not. And keep in mind that a lot of people who live in NYC are tourist.

Where is the biggest GAP store in Manhattan?

I'm planning NYC sightseeing with my family from Tokyo, Japan. I want to see the typical US GAP store and the other stores like it, something different form Tokyo.

We have 2 daughters of 15 and 13 years old, and want our and their everyday clothes.

Please recommend the best shop in Manhattan. (Answer in easy english, please.)

Christmas in New York?

Christmas in NYC is great and I always recommend people to visit around the holidays instead of the summer -- the weather is more comfortable to walk around, the streets are crowded, but they are always crowded! There's more to do aside from the typical tourist attractions. There are special shows like the Radio City Christmas Spectacular, NYC Ballet's The Nutcracker, as well as some special Broadway productions like Elf the Musical, A Christmas Story, etc. Rockefeller Center becomes an ice skating rink (as well as in Bryant Park and Central Park), there's the holiday shops in Bryant Park, the shops at Columbus Circle with the Holiday Under the Stars, the Rockefeller Center Christmas tree, Macy's is elaborately decorated on the bottom level as well as Santaland, the window displays at stores like Macy's, Saks, Barney's, Bergdorf Goodman, etc. are beautiful. NY Botanical Garden has the holiday train show. It's a really nice time to visit!!!
