Ab Workouts For Someone With An Injury

Extreme pain after my ab workout?

I just started back on an ab workout yesterday after almost a year of not working out. It's a 5 minute workout doing 30 seconds of 10 different simple ab exercises. I also ran a mile yesterday after not running for a long time as well. I woke up this morning in extreme pain. My whole abdominal area hurts down to the top of my belly button. My ribs also hurt when I touch them. They feel inflamed at times and there is stabbing pain when I move or touch my chest. It doesn't get when I breathe in though. I've taken medicine today, but it hasn't helped much. Do you think this is just normal pain from not having worked out so long?

How often should I do ab workouts and how many?

I use to do crunches, weighted sit-ups, and leg lifts 3 times a day everyday but im spose to let them rebuild right? Take a day off then do ab workouts.

I have 2 questions.
1) Can you do ab workouts everyday or do you do them every other day?

2)If I do do them every other day should I do my ab routine 3 times a day (breakfast, after school, night) or just one time a day?

Hopefully that makes sense....

I'm doing ab workouts every day, but my abs are barely showing up. What should I do?

It seems that today everyone feels that the only answer is lowering the percentage of body fat below 10%.Look at pictures of Steve Reeves and Reg Park. Do these men have pronounced abdominals and yet not look emaciated? They certainly do because they have thick and powerful abdominals.Do sit ups on a slant board and hold a plate in each hand for added resistance. These men used York Barbell’s iron boots to add resistance while doing leg raises. Keep the reps down with resistance to build, thicker, more powerful abs.Reeves, in giving advice to someone with a back injury asked if it was possible for the injured bodybuilder to hang from a bar by the knees to use some inversion therapy. Today you can buy inversion boots and do sit ups while inverted.Use enough resistance to keep your reps down. Contract hard and stretch all the way back. Do 3 to 5 sets depending on how many reps you do.

Exercise you can recommend for someone with an injured spine? (bad back)

It is a dangerous myth that the answer to every pain in the body is that more strength or exercise is needed. You've probably damaged something in your shoulder or upper back, but it doesn't sound super bad.If things haven't improved after a week of rest, go to the doctor and follow their advice. Afterwards, I would recommend some movement therapy like the Feldenkrais Method or the Alexander Technique. Very often these kinds of problems are from something you're doing to yourself, and professionals in those areas can help you learn to move without causing harm to yourself.

What will happen if somebody does an abs workout every day?

I have seen this question being asked on multiple platforms by different people. Let’s understand why this question arises at the first place.Let’s be real and say, every other person now a days is obsessed with abs and how to get them as soon and as easily as possible. There is nothing wrong with it until and unless it is making you motivated to train yourself. But when you are saying you are training your abs everyday definitely you are overlooking your other important muscles and that should never happen.Having abs is good, having abs with overall growth of other muscles is even much better.Every Muscle we work on requires some time to recover from the tear down caused because of training. Every time we train we break down our muscles and nutrition in the upcoming 48 hours play an important role in repairing these muscles. So let’s say you are training abs everyday, muscle breakdown happens and you are eating correct nutrition for recovery but not giving enough time so your muscle did not properly recover and you trained it again and again.Definitely you are adding up your muscle breakdown and there is pretty less recovery that’s called over training, Not a good idea at all.Want to train more frequently then try doing after every 2 days that will give them enough time for recovery. And if you are training your abs just because they are not showing up properly then may be it’s the problem of nutrition you are consuming, try to change them and you will see better results. If you are looking for some core training workout, check it here -Enjoy….
