Abdominal Cramps - Help

Help with severe abdominal pain?

For the past six years I've had severe right upper quadrant abdominal pain...a surgeon removed my appendix five years ago and it didn't help. Besides the pain I've experienced diarreah, vomiting, nausea and severe gas. I've had three or four ultrasounds of my abdominal area and they all show up as normal. All blood tests show up as normal. My doctor thought it was my gallbladder but the latest scan came back normal. Anyone have any ideas on what it could be? I'm getting frustrated with getting no where.

Next time you go to your doctor (hopefully soon), tell him about this, and tell him to take it seriously.

It may be a lack of proper nutrition, particularly not enough Magnesium. You can buy magnesium to drink at walgreens. Take it 30 minutes before your exercise and see if the cramps come. If they do, it's something else.

Take a daily vitamin anyway.

Wet, runny poop along with abdominal cramps HELP?

You've probably eaten a little more fruit than is good for you, although you might have also gotten a bit of tummy bug somehow. The first thing to do is stop eating, and stick to drinking clear liquids only. And lay off all the milk and dairy products as well. You'll need to leave the milk alone for a bit, because your diarrhea has likely removed the good bacteria you need to digest dairy products. Next, you need to eat things that will help bind matters together. That would be white rice, bananas, apples or apple sauce, white bread, toast and crackers. Those things will help stop the runny bowel movements for you. You can also have a carton of live culture yogurt, just make sure it is live culture and not just regular yogurt. A carton or two of that each day for the next three days will replace the bacteria you need to digest dairy products. In the future, you might consider eating something besides just fruit and milk. If school lunch isn't what you like, then pack a lunch you will eat. Whole grain bread and lean meat with cheese, or veggies are what you need. Milk is good for you, but you can also do with some juice, or just water. Fruit isn't bad for you, it's just the amounts you are eating. Fruit contains two kinds of fiber, water soluble and insoluble. The water soluble sort holds on to liquid, to help things slide along comfortably. Insoluble fiber helps bind it all together. Not enough fiber, you get constipated. Eat too much, like you've been doing- and you can see the result. Eat a mix of things, to balance it all out. Too much of a good thing is just as bad for you as not enough, dear. And you got too much of a good thing.

Why do I get stomach cramps when I work on my abs?

If you mean prevent muscular cramps that occur in the abdominal muscles while doing exercises like crunches and situps, the answer is not always clear since the cause of skeletal muscle cramping is not definitively known. You can experiment with making efforts to stay hydrated, for example, by supplementing your diet with bananas (for the potassium) and refueling with ergogenic drinks (such as Gatorade) to replace electrolytes. These techniques don't always prevent cramping, but they are worth trying. When the cramps do occur, you should lay flat on your back, or stand up straight, and reach your arms over your head until the cramp resolves. Reaching overhead stretches the abdominal muscles and releases the cramp. If cramping continues, then it should be reported to your doctor. If you mean internal cramping like a bellyache, this can be due to food or drinks you consume prior to exercise.
