About How Long Is A Pwg Show Pro Wrestling

Is pro wrestling more popular now than it was in the 90s?

No, it’s not more popular than the 90’s - by which I mean the Monday Night Wars around 97–01I think there is an argument that its popularity has actually remained about the same, or marginally declined. The product today is glossier, more international and has more exposure thanks to online and social networking that just wasn’t available in the 90’s. I don’t think the content and creativity is better though. The only concrete data we have to compare the two eras is TV Ratings. The fact is less people are watching wrestling on cable TV today. On Apr 17 2017, Raw scored a 1.22 in the ratings (around 3.4 million viewers). The figures this year have been fairly consistent. Compare that with some shows in 98/99 when Raw regularly hit 6.0 (or 5 millions viewers at the time) and WCW around half that with between 3.0–4.5. Your talking about 7.5 million+ watching wrestling on a Monday night. Now I know people will point out that in the 90’s more people had TVs, there were less channels and no internet or online competition. All of that is true.Indeed google trends and merchandise sales have increased. House show attendances are also stable. The audience demographics have also changed as the direction of the product has changed. It’s not more popular today but I’m inclined to say the popularity is about the same or marginally less.

About how long is a PWG show? (Pro wrestling)?

3-4 hours usually.

Feeling ashamed of being a Pro Wrestling fan?

Alright so I'm a huge WWE fan. I'm 16 years old and i've practically been a fan since i was born. It's hard not to love it even though it's crap now compared to the good old days. It's just that sometimes i feel ashamed being a pro wrestling fan. Most of my friends used to watch it but now most of them hate it since they found out it was fake. I mean we all know it's fake unless you've been living under a rock. I try talking about wrestling and they start looking at me like i'm a drug addict (which i'm not). Then I go on websites and all you see is fake and gay, fake and gay, fake and gay. I mean are those the only reasons why you hate pro wrestling? It's a damn tv show of course it is fake! And gay? Most wrestlers have hot as hell girlfriends, just look at Jack Swagger's girl! And don't forget about the divas! Yes it's corny, yes it's cheesy, but who the hell wants to see normal people with the same personalities? I'd rather watch Super Cena than an average joe. However, I still feel ashamed and embarassed talking about the WWE. Don't get me wrong I love this "sport". My dream job is to become a pro wrestler. However, I still feel ashamed about being a fan especailly when it's pretty much frowned upon nowadays because of repetitive dumb reasons. What do you guys think? Should wrestling fans feel embarassed or is it that the rest of society clueless when it comes to good entertainment?

And if someone tells me to watch UFC instead of "this ****" don't even waste ur time. They are completely different forms of entertainment. It's the same old gay argument over and over again. Plus the only reason UFC is at it's peak right now is because of Brock Lesnar, whose charisma was made by the WWE.

Is New Japan Pro Wrestling the only wrestling promotion in the world that can compete with WWE?

NJPW is the second biggest wrestling promotion and federation in the world after WWE. They have working relations with CMLL, AAA, NOAH, ROH, AJPW, DDT Chikara, PWG, Zero1, FIP and GFW. They use to work with TNA until Jeff Hardy messed things up. There also American and Canadian wrestlers wrestling in NJPW and I think some British UK and Russian wrestlers in NJPW too because I remember seeing some in NJPW on Youtube a while back before. They're all doing fabulous on the show, so NJPW may become huge competition to WWE someday when they come to the United States!

NJPW also has the greatest Japanese stars, the greatest Luchadores and Mexican wrestlers, the greatest talent in the world, the best female wrestlers (I remember seeing some on NJPW) and they have that huge mainstream look and feel! Wrestle Kingdom 9 was way better and bigger than any PG Wrestlemania. NJPW is the greatest and hottest wrestling promotion in the world today and I think once they get extremely popular and famous in the United States, they will give WWE competition like WCW did in the 90s because NJPW is as big as WCW was in the 90s! I see NJPW pro wrestling being the future of wrestling someday because they're already the second largest promotion in the world behind WWE.

So do you think NJPW itself is the only wrestling promotion in the world that can give WWE big competition?

Let me know what you all think.

How can I watch new Japan pro wrestling and ring of honour in India?

YES YOU CANDiscovery Communications has reached a deal with Ring of Honor to broadcast their weekly ROH TV episodes on their brand new DSPORT channel in India.DSPORT launched in early 2017 and is currently available in more than 70 million homes across the nation. To put that number in perspective, the El Rey network which airs Lucha Underground is available in around 25 million homes, while Impact Wrestling’s domestic network POP TV is in 75 million homes. The USA Network which airs Monday Night Raw and Smackdown Live is within the top ten most viewable networks in the United States, at around 96 million.India has been a hot topic in the wrestling world recently. It is currently the second most populated country in the world, with an estimated 1.3 billion residents (or roughy four times the size of the U.S.) making it an intriguing target for promotions attempting to expand their global reach. Impact Wrestling has had a long running relationship with the nation, and their stars are currently visiting in preparation for multiple days of television tapings. Indo-Canadian star Jinder Mahal recently won the WWE Championship, and his live Punjabi Championship Celebration video has outperformed all of the company’s content on YouTube by a huge margin.

Where can i watch AAA and Pro wrestling NOAH and whats going on? Help!?

I am a huge wrestling fan and i love WWE, TNA, ROH, CZW, PWG, and a bunch or other promotions. I want to start watching AAA from Mexico and NOAH from Japan but i only speak American English and i don't know where to watch it online. Is there anywhere that posts free (no downloads/torrents) events from these promotions. Any English dubs? And if there are no english dubs then whats going on, like fudes and storylines so i can kind of understand. Also what time is AAA on on that telemundo channel and on what days? HELP!

How can I join Pro Wrestling Guerilla?

Well get trained as a Professional wrestler and start working local shows, get better and try to travel around making a name for yourself. About 3 years in to this and putting on good matches, meet with a regular of PWG and try and get them to put in a word with Super Dragon, he is one of the owners and the booker. If that fails go nuts on the independent scene work for other major independent companies like CZW, Wrestle Circus, Evolve etc and they will try and contact you. Remember PWG is at most a Monthly Super show, not a full time company like ROH or WWE, it isn't about being signed by PWG but being booked by PWG

Who in India knows, or likes, NJPW (New Japan Pro wrestling), or ROH (Ring of Honour) for WWE fans?

I know all major wrestling promotions (including PWG, WCPW, Lucha underground, etc), I followed TNA/impact back in the day when Main Event Mafia were strong. But these days, due to lack of time I follow only WWE. I do watch some matches from other promotions, if they get a five star rating by Meltzer or the internet explodes with some. But, I do follow them on news but I don’t watch them per se.

Is wrestling even that big?

The boom period of wrestling was late nineties and early 2000s. That was when it was cool and everybody watched it. In terms of overall cultural impact and mere size of casual fans enjoying wrestling may have left its best days behind. But in terms of progress and athletic quality wrestling is bigger (maybe even critically better is some aspects) that it has ever being. Here are some reasons.WWE has increased its production value significantly. WWE produced atleast 6 hrs of wrestling content weekly. Not counting house shows.WWE Network is one of the best things to happen with wrestling contents expanding beyond the ring. Shows, podcasts and all.NXT is great! Network specific tournaments(CWC) has been awesome.Though no direct competition like WCW, many indie promotions like ROH, PWG and even promotions from Japan NJPW are creating a lot of buzz and innovative, critically acclaimed wrestling.IWC is as vocal of a community as any.So yea wrestling has lost a lot of casual fans but the ones who watch it are rather passionate. And if you watch closely the scope of it is bigger now than ever.
