Abs/service Light Not Disappearing

Service Traction Control & Service Stabilitrak Light on?

So I have a 2007 Chevy Equinox and lately the service light has been showing service stabilitrak and service Traction control. When this light goes on the car seems to driver slower and I really have to push hard on the gas pedal. The next week or so the light will disappear and it will be fine so when I take it in to the mechanic they see nothing. My question is what is the problem and what needs to be fixed? I ve heard that the abs module needs to be switch. PLEASE HELP! Thanks!!

ABS light turns on when starting the car then it goes off, but it turns on while driving. What could be wrong?

The abs light comes on initially, then goes out to indcate the system has passed a basic self test. Ie everything seems to be OK. All sensors are neither open nor closed circuit, giving a resistance reading within expectations.if the light then comes back on after moving off it means everying is working, but something is not as it should be. A typical cause would be a cracked/broken reluctor ring on one drive shaft.‘This broke ring gives a signal ‘101010101001010101.’ Note the 00 in the middle.

BMW 330i issues. EML, (!), and brake light come on during mid driving. Any ideas?

EML is the electronic motor load regulation on your engine. Basically it's the electronically controlled throttle motor that opens and closes to provide the engine with air it needs to run. I would guess that your 330i is probably older than 2004 production because BMW has had problems with engine wiring harness connections at throttle and/or the actual throttle motor depending on the production date of the throttle assembly. A dealer will be able to tell you exact details depending on the faults stored but my guess is your car probably needs at least an engine wiring harness and maybe a throttle. When the EML light comes on (the failsafe mode) your throttle will open and close in limited positions making the car difficult to drive. The brake light comes on becuse of the communication error between the throttle and the Dynamic Stability Control which will open and close the throttle to help limit vehicle slipping. My opinion is to get the vehicle fixed, it's not safe and could die out when driving. Hope this helps.

The ABS light on a car should turn on when you turn the ignition on. It turns on for an automatic test and then goes off, but when I start the engine it comes on again then stays on for one second, and goes off again. Is there a problem?

There is a small chance that your battery may be getting a little old. Starting the engine is a very heavy load on the electrical system. During cranking, battery voltage can drop to 10.5 volts or less. This is still high enough to power critical systems. The PCM (power train control module) has to stay up and running while cranking otherwise the engine won’t start. ABS modules are not essential for starting the motor so their internal voltage regulation may or may not work during cranking and they see the voltage drop as a power cycle and do a restart. If your battery is aging the drop will be even greater. There is a greater chance there is nothing wrong with your car. The designers simply didn’t power everything when the key is in the start position.

What does it mean when a car's battery light turns on while the car is moving (eventually car decelerates and stops)?

The alternator is failing or has ceased functioning. Whereas the engine's torque is usually giving your car constant electricity using the alternator, when it fails to do so the battery's reserved power is then used. Usually the battery is only used to start the vehicle. It obviously has enough power to spark the plugs, but only for so long, especially if you are also running your radio, A/C, headlights, etc. Once the battery is dead, the car is dead. This happened to me more than once. The alternator has a finite life in every car, so there comes a time when it will die, and it will almost certainly not be at the most opportune moment. Recognize signs of this happening before it is too late. Mine was failing for months before it inevitably gave in and I finally figured out what was wrong. A similar issue is if your serpentine belt snaps, the engine is no longer running your alternator, whether it's in good shape or not. This will cause more issues than the car just dying in five minutes- the water pump will cease functioning to cool your engine down and you will eventually overheat it and perhaps irreparably damage the vehicle. There are possibly other things that can cause this issue but this seems by and large the most likely.

Why did my car shake and the check engine light flash while stopped at a light?

What you experienced was almost certainly a misfire event and the cause may be recorded as a diagnostic trouble code (DTC) in the engine controller’s memory. Most failures that are significant enough to cause MIL illumination will record a trouble code and its environmental/ data information from the moment, even if the MIL is no longer lit. Onboard Diagnostics work constantly to keep the MIL off, looking for a reason to turn the CE light out if the condition hasn’t been seen again recently, eventually even erasing trouble codes if all’s good. I can only speculate on the nature of your event, but a thorough scan to retrieve codes and freeze frame data of the moment will often shed some light on the situation.Misfires come in many flavors, ranging from slight loss of performance in a single cylinder, to one or more holes being completely dead. Your description of shake at an idle implies a power imbalance, which usually involves complete loss of performance, but just one hole.Barring an at-home scanner being available, rolling the ignition key from LOCK to RUN three times, then leaving it in the RUN position at the end will initiate the customer code-read feature, spilling any matured codes stored in the PCM through the instrument cluster’s odometer window. All codes will be four digits in length, beginning with the letter P, such as P0123. DTC information can be found at OBD2-OBDII Engine Light Trouble Codes Definitions, Description and Repair Information online.One-trip failures - those that have not quite matured - will not be displayed in this feature, but will show up on a high-end scanner if present. If only a single cylinder misfire code is retrieved, pull the coil and spark plug to inspect for signs of flashover - black marks on the upper spark plug insulator and inner coil boot that will not scratch off with a fingernail. Flashover is pretty common on coil-on-plug ignition systems and the cure is to replace both the boot and spark plug together. Worn plugs tend to incite this sort of situation as spark will always seek the path of least resistance. If your DTC list includes an injector control circuit code that matches the cylinder of misfire, chances are good that the injector is at fault. The injector may test as completely normal when cooler, but will go to an open circuit once heated, either naturally or with a heat gun.

Suzuki forenza air bag warning light?

My airbag warning light is on, if there by chance a common point of failure that i can inspect myself, rather than bringing it to the dealer to have them search EVERY POSSIBLE cause?

I was reading that the sensor harness under the seat may be a common point of failure due to seat movement, wear on the harness is the failure likely to occur?

What are the locations of the sensors related to the airbag systems that i would need to inspect on the vehicle?

Is there an easy way to check if the failure is on the drivers side or passenger side airbags?

Will removing the airbag system fuse eliminate the possibility of my airbags deploying inadvertently?

VSC light and check engine light on our Lexus?

VSC stands for Vehicle Stability Control. It's a program that helps regulate your shocks, and brakes during emergency maneuvers.

It comes on when the computer detects some kind of problem. The check engine light coming on makes sense also.

Yes, it's perfectly safe to drive with the lights on, provided the check engine light isn't something more serious to your actual engine.

You can take it to the dealer or almost any Auto Parts store and have them check the Codes that it's throwing. That will tell you what the problem is and if you can be driving it or not.

Until you know what the Computer is saying it's impossible to speculate on what the cause could be.

Finding out what the codes are is easy and quick. Getting it fixed could be a whole different story. Could be as simple and quick as changing a shock, to more diagnostic work.

Get it in, and have the codes checked as soon as you can and then depending on that go from there.

Good luck!

The VSC system that controls your brakes, only distributes a certain amount of force to the rear wheels, and modulates it. If there's a malfunction it goes into safe mode and it's like driving a Car/SUV without VSC.

So to anyone who thinks it's not ok to drive with a VSC light on obviously knows nothing about Cars.

Because it is perfectly safe to drive with it on. We've had Cars and SUV's for years before VSC came along. You just have to be smarter than the Car you are driving.

Impala ABS, Traction control, Brake, passenger airbag light all come on randomly?

1st off, Welcome to California.
it isn't unusual for the GM cars and trucks.
when did you do the last tune up, oil change and inspection?
we need to know what you did to the car before we decide what could go wrong.
it could be the BATTERY, is it a good battery?
