Accidentally Erased Mac Drive

I accidentally deleted my Mac hard drive and now my Mac only shows a question mark folder and won't load. How do I repair it?

Try using the Command (⌘) + Option (⌥) + R combination immediately upon hearing the startup chime. This will start the internet recovery as opposed to normal recovery. There you can download OSX and install it all in one go.Note that this option requires an Internet connection — Ethernet or wireless. However, you can still connect to Wi-Fi as normal to do this, (When you start the Mac holding down Option you can choose a wifi network)

Accidentally unplugged hard drive?

I accidentally unplugged my boyfriend's external hard drives... I mistook the plug for the one for my laptop charger and pulled it out of the wall while his computer was turned on, with the hard drives connected. He says that by doing that I erased everything on both drives. I thought that once you saved something on a hard drive, it's there until you delete it, but then again, I don't know much of anything about computers. Is there something we can do to get it back? They are WD MyBook for Mac 1TB drives, and they each had about 100 GB of stuff saved on them.

Is it possible to recover a Mac hard drive (not files) after accidentally deleting it?

Thanks for the A2A.Yes, it is possible to recover a Mac hard drive after accidentally deleting it. How you do so depends on what you mean by “deleting it.”If you simply dragged the drive to the trash, restart your Mac. It will reappear on the desktop. If you erased the drive (which you would have to do through software), then you would need to use a utility such as Data Rescue or TechTool Pro to attempt to recover any files on the drive. If you simply want to start fresh, hold down COMMAND-R while you reboot your computer and use the Recovery Mode to reinstall macOS (you will need an Internet connection to do that).

I accidentally stepped on my external hard drive, it's not working now. Please help!?

Hi, I'm having a huge problem with my external hard drive.

My hard drive is from Western Digital and it's capacity is 250 GB. I have ALL of my extremely important files on it and it's absolutely imperative I can those files back I don't have any back up of the files (silly me), and I can not live without these files. I don't care about my hard drive at all. But I DO care about the priceless information on it.

Okay, my external hard drive was working perfectly fine until one day. I was watching a video on my computer (the file was from my hard drive). Suddenly, I accidentally stepped on my hard drive with my big toe. The hard drive made a crunching sound as if something was spinning very fast, and i scratched and slowed whatever was spinning. Immediately, my video paused itself and it couldn't play anymore. After, I unplugged my hard drive and it made the sound that plays when you unplug something from the USB port. After, I plugged my hard drive back in, the beeping noise played again. Also, the blue light of my hard drive was on.

After, I went to My Computer and the following icons showed up:

-- Jeff C Drive (C:)
-- DVD/CD-RW Drive (D:)

However, I didn't see:

-- Jeff HD! (E:) - which always used to show up when my hard drive was working.

After, I right clicked my C drive and clicked properties.I then clicked on the hardware tab and the following items showed up.

-- WDC WD800JD-60LSA5 (this is my hard drive, but I renamed it to Jeff's HD!, so does that mean that my hard drive's information has been erased?)
-- WD (myhard drivee - Western Digital)

So obviously, my computer still detects my hard drive, but it can't access any of the files. Have I lost all of my information on it?

Is there a software like Disk Warrior 4, Data Rescue, (they're for MACS) for Windows PC?

Is there a way to fix the hard drive myself without taking it to a professional?

Please give me some suggestions in fixing my hard drive. Help would be GREATLY appreciated. The files on my hard drive are priceless and I really need them back.

Thank you for your advice in advanced. :)

Accidentally started to unmount C:\ drive (Windows 7)?

When trying to install the Mac OS on my laptop, I accidentally started to unmount my C:\ drive. I quickly noticed, and held the power button to make it stop. But now, on startup, it goes to a black screen and just says, "Missing operating system." I've tried to repair with the Windows 7 installation disc, and it doesn't work. Is there anything I can do to at least save my files before re-installing windows? Or any other way to fix this issue?
