According To W.e Hickson In The Poem Try Again What Qualities Should A Person Have To Be

Summary of poem "Try again" by "Hickson William Edward"?

Libby’s Advice

I know you are desperate and keen,
For any answer you can glean.
But without the poem to read,
We cannot fulfill such a need.
It’s easy to just cut and paste
And post the poem here in haste.
Dearest, do us all a favour,
Give us the poem to savour.
Name the poet, quote the title;
As such clues, for us, are vital.
Do not ask too many questions,
If you want to get suggestions.
Tell us what you have discovered,
And that you have not uncovered.
Leave the rest to those who can help
And your teacher won’t see a whelp.

Qualities which make a person best ?The answer is….sorry I don’t know. Then why the heck am I writing the answer !The thing is ,what is best ? What does it means to be best ?*if you score 100/100 are you the best ?*if you are so handsome that girls just wait to meet your gaze are you the best ?*you help so many people you are kind Are you the best?*………*………..*……….The list goes on and on. We can never satisfy ourselves completely nor we can never make others completely satisfied. If this question is taken spiritually ,start to learn about the world within you.Learn about your innerself .Gautam Buddha is considerd as the enlightend being…But this way of being best is not practical( We are not trying to be prophets, rishis)If this question is taken more practically which can be applied to our real life thenSee this guy.He is shrikanth bolla. A blind student who was rejected by IIT.What can a blind student achieve(Dont take me wrong I am just explaining the contrast of oppurtunities for a normal person and a physically challenged person)1.Pass 10 nth with 90+%Ok some people may do it2.Pass intermediate exam with 90+%Great he has done well even being a blind student3.He was eligible for joing an IIT but he was rejected but still he didnot loose hopeI did not even qualify JEE but I felt severe depression(It took time for me to overcome)4.He was selected for MIT (One of the best college ever to be created )Now that’s very very great5.Finishing his studies he did not settle in US .He returned home began a startup.6.Turn over for the company in cores .50% of workers are physically challenged. He is successful. But in the interview he said I am just starting. Why did he suceed?why did he become one of the bestPatience?Hard work ?Perseverance?Optimism? The above may be the reasons but the thing is to never ever ever ever ever give up to never loose hope even when the earth trembles even when the moon fades before our eyes just hopeAlsoAs Michelangelo said Ancaro imparo-I am always learning always sharp your axe

Can you make a course on the English literature optional for the UPSC?

Yes . Why not. I’ll let you know the pros and cons of choosing Literature as an optional.ProsIt is not a dynamic subject like Political Science and International Relations where you need to keep updating your notes. In Literature, It will be easier for you to keep your notes ready and just keep practising answer writing. In 2016, the topper Ms Nandini had Kannada literature as her optional subject. So it is a myth that Literature subjects aren’t scoring enough. Also, it is always advisable to choose a subject that interests you. If you like reading Literature why not read it as a paper. Pleasure along with preparation makes the work easy and is what an aspirant should aim for.ConsThe positive is the negative here. Its limited scope that is, the static nature of the subject might make it monotonous for the examiner. However, you can improvise and creatively use your writing skills. It has no syllabus overlapping with any of the general studies paper. You will have to prepare it separately. Like in case of history, geography PSIR or sociology, a lot of it overlaps with GS, thus, making it less time consuming. You might not get a proper test series for English Literature. If you are confident with your answer writing skills then you can always go for it.Ultimately it all depends on your strengths and weaknesses. Choose carefully because optional subjects give you an edge in your overall score out of 1750.Happy reading:)

How would you paraphrase the stanzas of the poem Try, Try Again by William Edward Hickson?

This request requires quite a bit of work. The first stanza is saying two things: if you need to learn something: try to learn it, if you hang in there and don't give up, you will ultimately succeed. The second stanza: says that if you attempt something and fail, try again, however there is no shame in not winning as long as you try more than once to win. The third stanza states two points: if something is difficult to do, meet that difficulty with more effort and work "try, try again," and if other people can do something, so can you!

Comparing poems for GCSE 10 points!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...

Our teacher made an upside down pyramid and split it into sections, and you just have to cover each section when comparing and contrasting to pieces of writing

1-Structure (person, tense, what kind of poem (e.g. sonnet, petrarchan)

2-Sentences (e.g. minor, exclamatory, declarative, interogative, complex, compound, compound complex)

3-Syntax (word order)

4-Imagery (e.g. metaphors, similies, descriptions)

5-Lexis (lexical sets (set of words of a similar theme) - maybe you could compare if there are any similar lexical sets (sets of words) throughout the two poems?)

6-Phonology (assonance, sibilance, plosive)

7 - Anything other which doesn't fit into any of the above categories

Just make sure you go in depth in when comparing the poems, and explain everythings effect, or why it compares or contrasts to the other poem, try to cover a full range of what I mentioned above, so you don't focus to much on one thing and so you have a better chance of gaining higher marks!

Hope this helps and good luck with your gcse exams, i'm sure you'll do fine! :)
