Need advice! Taking ACT tomorrow!?
I'm taking the ACT for the first time tomorrow. When doing practice questions I find that I'm really slow on it. What should I do? I haven't done much review but what I did do I did mostly all science questions and I'm not really good at it. I can't focus when practicing. I'm scared I'm going to do badly. I'm also bad at math. What should I do today/tonight and tomorrow on the test to well on the test???

English - The ACT hates long flowery sentences. If two answers seem correct choose the one that's shorter. The ACT's philosophy is, if you can say it in less words, say it. Math - One minute a problem. The math section is kind of set up from easiest to hardest. Try to go quickly through the beginning to pick up time, but obviously don't work too quickly as to make mistakes. USE YOUR CALCULATOR! Reading - 8 minutes a passage. Try to do 5 minutes (or less) reading and 3 minutes answering questions. Once your eight minutes are up, fill in C all the way to the next passage and switch. If you do this correctly, you'll have three minutes at the end and you can go back and answer a few questions. If you don't know the answer right away, don't waste time on it, don't even read the choices. You're taking time from a question you may know. Science - Five minutes per passage. Once those five minutes are up "C" all the way down and change to the next passage. Forget everything from the previous passage. It's no longer important. You're not tested for knowledge on this section, just your ability to analyze and interpret the info given, and to make inferences on the info given.

SAT/ACT advice please!?
Contrary to what the other person said it is not a piece of cake. Even if you're a top class student the ACT is a different kind of test. I have the highest ACT score in my class, but i'm not even in the top 5 GPA wise in my class. What you have to realize is that a lot of it is natural ability. But that is not to say that it can't be improved. If you're not a senior you're probably going to learn more math and your score in that will go up. In reading just read AS FAST AS YOU CAN for hour on end, and in a few months you should be in the 30's there. Also for ACT english remember that there are only really a few things that they test so be sure to learn those thorougly. Also princeton review has a great english section (if you forgot the rules like i did). Science on the other hand is really hard to improve (And is currently what is screwing me up) Just practice is all i can really tell you on that. Also remember to not just work harder, but also work smarter. Alot of books contain tons of strategies that may help you raise your score. Again if you need more help there are other forums like collegeconfidential and sites like that that are full of students who've scored in the high 30's who can offer their own person suggests that may just give you the edge you need to get into the 30's. whenever i go to parties, people ALWAYS tell me i look so sad!! what in the world? i mean, i went to one last night and i didn't know anyone there except one girl, so of course i'm not gonna be all happy and excited to see ppl i don't even know. I try to force a smile but ppl still tell me i look sad and like i'm not having fun. i mean, if you don't know anyone at a party and you are kinda shy(like me) what am i supposed to do?? i am so embarassed that ppl keep asking me whats wrong and saying i have a frown on my face. i don't even realize i'm doing this. how do u act in a situation where you dont know anyone?? i can't put on a big smile face when there is nothing at the moment to smile about. give me some advice please!
