Addicted To Eating Pure Sugar

I'm addicted to pure sugar!?

Well the good news is that eating sugar doesn't cause diabetes. It isn't good for you but it doesn't cause diabetes any more than a high fever causes the flu.

Eating sugar doesn't really do anything for you either, try eating a fruit. That's what the body really wants when it's craving sugar, we evolved a taste for sweets to seek out nutritious fruits.

As to granulated sugar itself. I know that there used to be a low sodium salt that mixed the salt with silicon dioxide ( yes sand, a very common food additive ), this is also done with hot chocolate powder to make the powder a manageable amount. I tried to find a version of table sugar that does the same but couldn't find one. Doesn't mean it doesn't exist, indeed I couldn't find the salt either but I used to have tins of the stuff. maybe if you look hard enough you'll find a lower sugar version of table sugar that still has the same consistency.

I'm addicted to sugar. Would eating less carbs or carbohydrates start helping me with my sugar addiction?

Carbs and carbohydrates are the same thing.Yes, my suggestion would be to cut back slowly because cutting it out all at once might be too much of a shock and you’ll fall off the wagon. For example, I had a friend who cut out only iced tea from her diet and she lost weight. In the South, iced tea is not only sweetened, it tends to be excessively sweet. If you drink your calories with sugary drinks, replace it with water or seltzer. They, at another point, she stopped eating dinner rolls with her supper. Most likely just empty calories.I can tell you I’ve done an extended juice cleanse (ask your doctor first) and I notice all foods have a more satisfying taste after depriving one’s self. Proteins are more satisfying, sugary things tend to taste sweeter, things just seem a little bit more intense. Also, if I’m not mistaken, vegetables are considered carbs so technically, carbs aren’t a bad thing, it just depends on the sugar content of the particular carb.I would highly suggest you start putting more green things in your diet- salad, green beans, broccoli, asparagus, cucumber, peppers, celery etc…. A serving of any given vegetable tends to be half a cup. This is not a lot so have a full cup of any vegetable with any meal and it will help you fill up, in some cases replace another food you may have had (like bread or pasta or sugary drinks).Good luck.

I'm addicted to SMARTIES candy. Please tell me how bad it is for me.?

I don't do it all the time, but often I'll buy the 14oz. bag of SMARTIES and eat the whole bag in two days. Halloween is coming up and now SMARTIES are available in 3-pound bags. Three pounds of sugar! And I have destroyed a full 3-pound bag in a weekend.

Each roll is 7 grams, containing 6.3 grams of carbs (that is, sugar) for 25 calories. 392 grams in a 14oz bag. That's about 700 calories of pure sugar a day for two days. (If I did the math right. Each roll is 7 grams of carbs and there are approximately 56 rolls in a 14oz bag.)

What am I doing to my health? Am I making myself diabetic? What are the potential health implications?

Does eating sugar a lot everyday cause diabetes?

Excessive sugar consumption does not cause diabetes.

If you do not have diabetes genes, you can have all the sugar you want and never become diabetic.

But if you do have diabetes genes, you can completely abstain from sugar and you could still develop diabetes.

There is also the issue that sugar is nutritionally useless.

And btw, did you know that ALL carb turns to sugar in the blood? So don't forget to add all your carb intake to the sugar count. Bread, rice, potatoes, corn, noodles, pasta, oatmeal - all becomes pure glucose in the blood.
