Since it is a descriptive piece, include: HOW the city was destroyed and when what you see. This is a biggie! include as many details as possible. are there ruins? any plants still alive? smog? what do you see? What do you smell? What is the mood of the place? What can you hear? How would you best describe Pune as a city?
Pune was know to be the city of pensioners and retiree's.It was at one time, but today its the knowledge hub of India and also an upcoming IT hub. It is quickly following on the footsteps of Bengaluru and Mumbai. The mixed crowd culture is catching up and people from all states and nationalities are now a part of the 'Puneri' population.In regards to the infrastructure in the city, it is not a planned city, but it is very clean and compact. Pimpri-Chinchwad near Pune has one of the best roads in the country. The greenery around the city add to its beauty. The main downtown area is getting congested day by day due to increasing population.Pune has a great history and is something definitely to look out for when in Pune. The Sinhagad fort, the Shanivar Wada, Kelkar Museum etc. stand as a proof of the lovely city of Pune.The outskirts of the city are developing at a rapid pace. Land and property rates are at an all time high. Food (read: Quality Food) and groceries are a bit expensive but all types of cuisines are easily available. Punekars also adore their literature, arts (classical singing and various dance forms). Savai Gandharv Mahotsav is one of the classic example where classical singers from all over the country are performing in Pune.The western culture is also catching up fast with the mixed population increasing day by day. There are plenty of malls and multiplex's. Nightlife, though not as grand as that of Mumbai or Delhi, is pretty awesome.Pune can also be termed as a foodie's paradise. Name it and you'll have it. Personally I am a big fan of vegetarian food available in Pune.Punerkars are usually termed as proud and arrogant. Righty so :) Proud-Yes but the arrogance has faded over time as we try to adapt to the changing times. The new generation is accepting the change and exploring different and new avenues.Overall, my review can be considered to be biased as I am from Pune, but I studied in a college where in my batch of 240, 238 people were from various other parts of India. So I can say, based on my interactions with my friends and colleagues over time, that they too fell in love with the city and consider themselves as a real and loving 'Punekar'.

The hustle and bustle of city life was too much for a man who, even though he joined the city to change it, prefered his tranquild and quite monotonous lifestyle. The city was teaming with people, buisnesses, houses and it seemed as though it was too much! The whole area was overrun with civilians. The exhaust from a billion cars filled the atmosphere and that, combined with the sewage from a local power station enfuzed to create the most punjant, vulgar smell known to man. The streets were packed with pedestrians. Shoe soles filled the concrete slabs, in which the monstrosity of a city had been morphed from. Nobody stopped to say hello. A man, looking dazed and confused, was stood in the middle of a pavement; being pushed around by the people who, so desperately needed to get home. Inside an office block was a lamp, electricity was surging through it, keeping it alight. A man sat at a desk completing his work for the day. His fatuous manager hadn't just kept his body behind work on a Friday night... He had also kept his soul. The lamp desperately wanted to be with his friends, off. In complete darkness where it could finally rest. It was midnight and the, once busy streets had returned to their serene, natural state of introspectiveness. It was as if the whole city had shut down and descended into darkness. Any light was an intruder into the humble abode of darkness. However it was only a matter of time before the city returned to the moronic, crowded, inauspicious cosmopolitan it hated to be. Hope this helps!
