Adopting In Australia

Adopting in the UK, Then emigrating to Australia?

We adopted in the US and are now living in India. There is nothing complicated about it because my daughter's adoption was finalized long before our move. We plan to return to the US.

The only things I would suggest are trying to make it easy for the first mother to contact you. If you are already in touch then it will be easy. If not then help her to search for you if possible. In our case we are not in touch with the mom, but she does have our email contact info and that has not changed. She chose not to have contact after the birth, but she's free to change that if she likes.

What does it take to adopt a pet monkey in Australia?

I have always wanted a monkey ever since i was little and i wanted to know how could i adopt one is Sydney Australia?

I heard that you need some kind of licence.

Would you happen to know what kind of licence you do need?

I know that i can take care of this animal as it is a full time job just like having a child.

All my life i have grown up animals.

How do you adopt a child in Australia?

Hi Valeta,An easier way of doing it would be to just visit the Department of Families website, get their number and call them and take it from there.Usually they’ll do a psych check on you to make sure you’re emotionally capable of fostering a child, and they’ll usually visit your home and go through it to make sure it’s phsyically safe and ready for fostering a child. There is quite a few courses you have to do, but they don’t take long. Some of them would probably be WWCC (Working With Children Certificate) and CPRQC (CPR Qualified Certificate). Some of the musts are that you must be an Australian resident in order to foster in Australia, so if you’re not an Australian resident, it is impossible until you do become an Australian resident.

Are Australians adopting the wrong values and attitudes for a developed country?

Not everything is straightforward.I assume Japan is a country where competition is tough from school all the way up to work. Japanese are I think some of the most overworked people in developed countries. And Japan has been stagnating for 2 decades now for some other reason not linked to laid-blackness and their hardwork and encouraging high-flyers has not fixed the stagnation in 20 years. Their living standard? Not fallen.Meanwhile, Canada and Norway have economy built on the back of extracting natural resources. They have been doing fine for decades, and not even the dip in oil price since couple of years have them go anywhere near crisis mode. Their living standard? Not fallen. So where does this Australia? I don’t know as I have little interest and knowledge about it. But I think stagnation and depleting life style has more to do with bad governance and misguided policies. For example think USA, think trickle-down economics (*cough cough*).

Im about to adopt an Australian Shepherd/St. Bernard mix!?

It's a puppy right now but Im wondering how big he's going to get. At least I think its a boy. The paperwork on it says its a boy, but someone at the shelter said its a girl. I know that'll also affect the size. Anyway, Shepherds are medium size dogs and Bernard's are xtra large dogs. I'm asking if anyone KNOWS the range for this breed. I realize that each puppy can get more or less traits from each side, but I'm wondering if anyone has one of these or knows someone with one. I'm not really interested in what anyone THINKS just from guessing because I can do that myself. But if you breed dogs or have one of these please let me know! Thanks!

Single Male Adoption - What countries?

Hi, basically, I have my head set on adopting in the next 5 years or so. However, I also plan on staying very much single. I understand that many countries only allow single women to adopt, however I have heard of a few countries which allow it. I would like to know what countries allow this, and would really like to know of anyone who has done this, and what is needed of the single parent, if anything. Also, I'm in Australia, so obviousely it's helpful if you know the laws both ways (ie. Australian laws affecting this as well as the other countries laws)

All your answers are very much appreciated!

Should Australia and New Zealand adopt a common currency?

No.It would make no difference to Australia but a huge difference to NZ. NZ would effectively be adopting the Australian currency rather than sharing a currency with Australia (due to the mismatching GDPs) and therefore would have very little control over the currency’s management.NZ would also lose control over setting an interest rate appropriate to its economic conditions - 23 million aussies out vote 4 million kiwis. Appropriate interest rates for Australia are not always appropriate to NZ, most recently the GFC affected NZ much worse than Australia.NZ would lose the ability to issue debt denominated in its own currency. This is rarely used but could be very important in extremis.Arguably it would be better for NZ to become a state of Australia and have the security of a combined transfer system than the halfway house of losing control over its currency.

Why won’t Americans adopt the Australian health care system?

Because my fellow citizens are infected with the zombie virus and will only support the major political party candidates. The major party candidates have no incentive to do anything but get re-elected.vote third party. At one time the democrat party was a third party, at another time, the republican party was a third party. Unfortunately, the zombie will only destroy life and opportunity for life. If there is any hope at all, it is with the third party.BTW, do not believe any of their words. Look at their achievements, they are alway fruits of others tragedies.

Which healthcare system should America adopt: Canada, Australia or UK?

Australian hereany questions happy to answerI think our system is fantasticI pay 4% on top of my taxfor that I get virtually free healthcare and subsidized pharmaceuticals ( which more you use cheaper they get )our gps are not state employees but there us a set fee paid for each service if a doctor charges the set fee the money is remitted as you leave the surgery if you dont it is paid each month . the result of this is half of gps charge the set fee. I have never found any problem in getting a free doctor close to my home , say 10 minutes by car or less.If you get admitted via ER everything is free except your beds tv.Pharmaceuticals have for working people have a co payment of $30 then for individuals and families there is a safety net of about $300 per year and above that it starts to drop down to $2.50 . For pensioners or the unemployed you start at about $5.00 then drops with the safteynetAll tests are freeThe government unlike the usa can bargain with pharmaceutical companies so the government buys drugs up to 75% cheaper than the us government and citizens do.there is a school vaccination program so we are hoping to virtually eliminate cervical cancer as well as polio and some othersthere is no death panelno rationing of healthcareonly doctors not the government make my medical decisionsno permission is required off the government for anythingno insurance company approves anything , the doctors say you need it you get it
