Adult Content No Persons 18

Should We ask Yahoo to have over 18 Answers for adult content questions?

I would love it if Yahoo gave adult content questions their own place. I don't necessarily think that kids need one place and adults need another, its just that the adult questions need to be filtered out of the rest of the questions and put somewhere else. Its great that you can ask ANYTHING on Answers, but there are times when I don't want to see all the mature content - and I'm old enough to see it! Like, at work, I like to ask and answer technical questions, but I hate that the main page shows mature content and mature content can still be categorized. ...Then once I get home, I like to post and answer ALL kinds of questions. And kids DON'T need to see EVERYTHING that's here. I think any question with mature words or asterisks in it needs to default to its own category where you have to accept that you are over 18 and want to see it before you ever see it.

As for asking Yahoo to accomplish this task, I believe it would be an effort in futility. I think if Yahoo had found the means to do this already, they would have done so. Users have been issuing this complaint since Answers first started up. And the Answers team is probably swamped with reported users that wouldn't have been reported if such a system was in place. It would be in Yahoo's best interest to take care of the problem, but to me the fact that they haven't says that they CAN'T.

...So hey Yahoo Staff...I don't think you can do it! I dare you! I double dare you!

...Okay, that's the end of my rant on the issue.

WARNING: Adult content : You must be 18+ to view?

Why is pornography considered adult content (18+) in most countries, if you can legally have sex in many of these countries when you're above 16, and most people become sexually active as early as 12 or 13 years old?

Ok first, MOST people don’t become sexually active at 12 or 13. Average all around the globe for first sexual relationship is about 18–23 (Average Age at first sex by Country).By sexually “active” you probably intend masturbation, then bad news, masturbation starts usually way before that, around the age of 4. But anyway.Pornography is restricted with the same regulation as many other content like gore and violent movies or movies talking about human trafficking for example. Those are considered sensitive subjects, and are regulated by, usually, special organism that decide which content is viewable at which age range. This is for sexually graphic content on TV.If we talk purely about pornography, like websites and such, the age limit of 18 years of is because most countries consider that 18 years old is where you become legally an adult:When you are an adult, you are able to make your own choices, buy alcohol, vote and watch porn. Under that age, you’re usually not able to do any of this (special rules apply for alcohol in the USA, for whatever reason it is). Being an adult means that you are LEGALLY responsible for your actions. On the other way, no one can restrict people under a certain age to have sex. How would you do that, install cameras in every bedroom and hire someone to ensure that these people who engage into sex are over 18? No, people are free to engage in sexual activity at whichever age they want (with consent). Having sex and being given access to unlimited videos (of all kinds, really) on the internet are different. Also the “legally have sex from 16” comes from the age of consent. The age of consent varies greatly from country to country, but 18 is usually defined as the top limit Age of Consent Laws By Country. That way, porn production companies are “safe” for every countries that are going to watch their films. (Most or all countries in red have a ban on pornography by the way). That’s also why Facebook is supposedly limited to people over 13, and many websites say that if you are under 18, you must have an adult aware of your registration…

Does Twitter allow adult content?

It depends on what you mean by “adult content”.With regard to their advertising policies, they currently state:Twitter prohibits the promotion of adult or sexual products and services globallyAdult or sexual products and servicesWith regard to their regular content terms of service rules, they say:Graphic content: You may not use pornographic or excessively violent media in your profile image or header image. Twitter may allow some forms of graphic content in Tweets marked as sensitive media. When content crosses the line into gratuitous images of death, Twitter may ask that you remove the content out of respect for the deceased. The Twitter RulesWith regard to violence and nudity, their media policy says that such content must be marked so that it may be filtered by those not interested in seeing it:Media that is marked as containing sensitive content will have a warning message that a viewer must click through before viewing the media. Only users who have opted in to see possibly sensitive content will see the media without the warning message.Correctly tagging posts is your responsibility, per the Twitter media policyIf you repeatedly upload media that are mislabeled, the Twitter team will:Label your media as having potentially sensitive content.Permanently adjust your account setting to Mark media I tweet as containing material that may be sensitive so that your future posts have a warning message users must click through before viewing your media.Pretty much: it’s their carnival ride, and they are allowed to set — or change — any rules they want, with regard to who’s allowed to do what.

Why? not a yahoo answers for adults over 18?

Yahoo doesn't have an "answers" for adults because they're not interested in hosting such a place. That's why!

If you really want an "adult answers" then approach websites that cater strictly to adults and see if they'll start something like Yahoo Answers. Personally, I think there's enough adult content here. I report anything that I think is "over the line." I would not participate if it was a place where more sexual questions were being posted because, guidelines or no guidelines, people do it often enough here. Too often.

Plus, really, the only way to insure it's adults gaining entrance would be to charge people for that kind of site, make people provide a credit card to join, don't you think? How else do you know whether someone is the age that they state that they are? Of course, some teens already have their own credit cards but at least that would be one likely thing, that there would be a cost and it wouldn't be free like here.

If you want to enjoy freedom of speech, go somewhere else. Many of us like Yahoo Answers just the way it is.... well, except for the trolls.

What is adult franchise?

Adult franchise is a fundamental pillar of any democracy. Adult franchise means that the right to vote should be given to all adult citizens without the discrimination of caste, class, colour , religion or sex. It is based on equality which is a basic principle of democracy. It demands that the right tovote should be equally available among all. T o deny any class of persons from exercising this right is to violate their right to equality. Adult franchise is available to everyone above the age of 18 in India except lunatics, minors, criminals or anyone who has had this right revoked by the powers of any court for probable cause.Disclaimer: All the content provided in the content is for information purposes only. Most of my Quora content is adult-oriented. How do I prevent underage people from viewing it?

I wouldn't worry about it. As long as you're not actively baiting underage people or otherwise dishonest about your contents, you are ethically in the clear. Quora categorizes your posts so actually finding adult contents is a willful act. And if an underage person willfully wants (redundant?) to view such contents, there's nothing you can do about it. In a forum like Quora, there is simply no way to verify age or identity. At most, you can preface your posts with, “ADULT CONTENTS ALERT” as the topmost sentence. That may prevent the rare accidental viewing.

Is there a "Adult only" section on YouTube?

yes, there is a adult section on you tube. You need an account to view the contents.
You Tube does not have any porn contents but some videos are not suitable to watch by the kids, thats why You Tube is having a adult section, just to make sure that you are above 18.

LiveJournal won't let me view Mature Content even though I'm over 18.?

First, make sure you've got your full birthdate set in your profile. Month, day, and YEAR must be filled out. Second, check your display settings to be sure you're not restricted there either. Default settings will usually exclude adult content. There's a few settings there you can tweak and set to be sure you're not blocked there either (check the link). If you've done both those things, and still can't see adult content, then either the journal or group owner you're trying to view content for has a restricted group that must allow you permission before you see it. If someone has their post blocked to non-friends or non-members of their community and they're an adult listed group, you won't get anywhere. Same goes if they've filtered their posts and you've been excluded from their filter list. To find that out though, you'll need to double-check with the people/communities you wish to view content with. Check their profiles to see if they have any restrictions listed. If it's been locked, there will also usually be a sticky post at the top with instructions. Most times if that's the case, it may just be a matter of making sure your content is viewable to the public so they can see it and approve any friendship/membership requests that are based on age. Bear in mind some people will want you to wait until you're 21 before letting you view some of their content. It really depends on their own wishes on whether or not you'll get to see the content if it's because they've restricted you themselves.
