Advanced English Writing Devices

What is the difference between rhetorical devices and rhetorical modes?

It seems like they re synonyms referring to the ways in which rhetoric is carried out (alliteration, metaphor...) but I have to define them both for my English summer homework.
Thank you in advance!

How are Poetic devices used in these following lines?

I'm doing a song analysis for my english ISU assignment, and I need to find three poetic devices in the song.

The song i'm doing is Man in the Mirror by Michael Jackson.

Here are the lines of the song that I want to analyse.

"this wind is blowing my mind"- second stanza.

A "Broken Bottle" Top- third stanza

Somebody's "Broken Heart" - Sixth stanza.

If you happen to find a better line in the song that uses a poetic device, and that you are able to analyse it, i would really appreciate it if you can tell me.

I need to know how these poetic devices is useful in the song, and how it brings out the affect of the song.

THANK YOU IN ADVANCE! I Really Appreciate the Help.

Need to analyse this for my English Class?

By Analysis I dont mean a Critique of the article. In school when we analyse a "set text" thats wat these types of extracts are called by our syllabus Edexcel. what my teacher wants is for us to pick out the way the journalist has written. Like the Language techniques used personifications, metaphors, alliterations, anti-climax and all that.

I appreciate the effort you have used in trying to help me but a critique was not what I wanted.
