Advice For Driving Practice

Any advice about driving on the highway?

DON"T BE HESITANT WHEN YOU MERGE !!

GO OR DON'T GO, it's the uncertainty of what a vehicle entering the traffic flow is going to do that causes other drivers to react and the drivers behind (and along side) them to react and so on.

Use your signal, use the accelerator, in this one case the brakes will get you in more trouble than the gas.

Once on the highway, move to the center lane and maintain the speed limit.

Staying right will cause you to have to constantly adjust and react to traffic entering and exiting the highway.

Staying left will have fast traffic bearing down on you.

If you have only 2 lanes to choose from stay right till you feel comfortable with the speed.

There are no traffic lights or intersections on the highway. The point is, to keep moving till you exit.

If you miss an exit (we all do at some time) don't panic, go to the next exit, get off the highway, cross over (or under) the roadway and reenter the highway in the opposite direction.

Maintain you speed and lane and respond to the tail lights of the car in front of you and the one in front of that one (if you can see them).

Speeders and lane splitting motorcycles are not your concern. Control YOUR vehicle and you will be fine.

Advice on fear of driving?

So there’s this event I really want to go to in Austin but it’s 3 hours away and I’m scared to drive. I have my license and a car but I’ve never driven long distance before and I just moved to Texas so I’ve never used google maps before because I used to have everything memorized back home. I’m trying to get students from my college to carpool but that’s difficult because I have no friends here yet. What would you do in my situation? And do you think using google maps is hard?

I need some advice about driving?

omg you have nooo worry about driving. it is so easy. im 17 too, ive had my license for a little over a year, and i got the hang of it during my drivers ed class back when i was 16. i actually turned 17 the last day of my drivers ed class, so it was a good birthday present to me. but yeah, no worries. i drive in chicago traffic sometimes.

i would personally recommend going out driving at night so your eyesight gets better from the start, and you can practice driving on roads with no cars. some people disagree with starting out night driving, but everyone ive suggested it to has said it works, so idk what their problem is. good luck though!

Any advice on Driving and Maneuverability test?

Hello there!

Since you have already been practicing for a while, you do not really need any special advice here :) Just stay calm and do everything just like you do on your practice sessions. Remember: taking the real exam is no different from doing the same maneuvers during your practice sessions and the examiner is NOT there to fail you, merely to observe you drive. Make sure you have a quick chat with the examiner, it will put you at ease and will show him that you feel confident about the test.

Good luck!

What is a good place to practice my driving in Staten Island, New York?

So I have my license, I got it a while back but I am really scared of driving. One of my new year's goals is to learn how to drive for real. I was wondering if anyone knows of good places to practice driving in Staten Island, New York.

If anyone has any advice on how I could get over my fear, I would appreciate that too (unless it's "suck it up" because I have no intention of doing that, until I get more practice)

Please advice me on learning how to drive car?

I want to learn driving, the problem is I am scared that once I am done learning and pass my test and got my licence from the learning institute, I have no confidence to drive on my own.

There would be no one to teach me or practice with me. What should I do?
